  Hello everyone,

I am considering printing out labels to upgrade my currently subpar inventory
labels and I was wondering how other sellers have gone about doing that? Is
there a template somewhere provided by Bricklink I am unaware of that would be
good to work off of?

I use a lot of Akro-Mils plastic organizers, I wonder if any other sellers use
those as well?

Thank you for any information you may provide!

If you're using Avery labels you can download templates from their website.
I'm sure they would work with other labels as well.

That is a good idea, I will look into it. Thank you!

Wondering what type camera/filters/editing programs you're using?
Your closeup pictures come out amazingly detailed.

Hopefully not for long. But perhaps I can shed some insight as I have a background
as a photographer/videographer.

I can't say what camera, but for pictures like this a macro lens is required
to get close in shots with tiny objects like Lego. If Mark is using a DSLR of
some kind or comparable then shooting uncompressed photos will retain sharper
images.

I can't say what filters Mark used, but a polarizer filter can help greatly
with reducing reflective / semi-reflective surfaces like Lego.

And Mark is most likely using a light box of some sort or using white surfaces
of some kind to bounce the light for even lighting/softer shadowing.

Hopefully Mark will be back to elaborate but hopefully this information is helpful
in the meantime.

A very nice site you’re constructing. The detail of information and quality is
amazing!

I’m curious though, why do all of the active links on your fup page, link
to Law’s site, Brick Owl?

That is a very good and important question.

I am curious now. Is this allowed? Because the links were not directly shared
of BO but overall this seems like a conflict on interest with the TOS? Yeah,
no?

agulus’s input in this thread has reignited a persistent and nagging thought
of mine: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1176265

It’s a valid point made by member agulus, that has unfortunately been ongoing
as an issue, in the face of contrary input towards the feedback policy.

I’ve brought it up in the past, that a neutral should be just that, neutral,
and not effect your feedback percentage number displayed, up or down.

Beyond the obvious reasons, is the fact that there are many newish buyers that
mistakenly see BL’s neutral, as neutral. Silly people Meanwhile, it continues
to result in an amount of havoc in that arena of BrickLink.

I look forward to reading your honest thoughts

-Cory

I think Bl's feedback system is somewhat dated. Neutral's should be
more benign rather then similar to negatives.

CURRENT BL FEEDBACK SYSTEM
Positive: accurate
Neutral: overly harsh / may encourage retaliation
Negative: accurate yet may encourage retaliation

I think emulating the eBay model would be a good adaptation. The feedback percentage
is more reflective of a seller's current feedback reputation of the last
12 months vs lifetime like on Bricklink. Meaning a single negative from 6 years
ago doesn't hold the overall feedback percentage down beyond a year, that
is if the seller has cleaned up their act and do no accrue any more negatives/neutrals.

I see frequent enough comment threads here on Bricklink that have complaints
about a seller or buyer receiving retaliation feedback or expressing fear that
they may receive one if they leave accurate feedback. Negatives are warning signs
for sellers to work harder and make improvements. But if the punishment is too
harsh then message may not be received properly.
This mindset has potential to create a retaliatory like atmosphere.

It's surprising you're now defending Bricklink as a cash cow because
that would mean they have plenty of budgets to solve their problems, problems
that you often seemed to just accept as the way things are.

Bricklink it is a cash cow.
Bricklink it's a business who generate profit.
Jung-Ju “Jay” Kim bought Bricklink to make a profit.
Jung-Ju “Jay” Kim didn't want to spend his profit on Bricklink.
Jung-Ju “Jay” Kim take his profit and leave it to Lego to invest.
So, Bricklink it is a cash cow.

Nectara

Plus, it's double dipping for Lego.
Everything on Bricklink has already been sold by TLG once.
I think they are really going to expand on that AFOL designer program from around
a half a year ago.

The process for payment, when buying from multiple vendors should not be so time
consuming. I purchased from 21 vendors, still waiting to hear from one. but the
checkout time was very lengthy, possible look at how amazon checks out.

As BrainOfTheBrick has stated, Bricklink is not like amazon but, imo, more like
a Lego flea market with thousands of different stores with a lot of different
styles of selling. Amazon can combine all your items into one purchase and potentially
combine shipping for some items, if applicable.

If you are looking for quicker ways to purchase on Bricklink then you could stick
to the Bricklink stores that use "Instant Checkout", signified by having a lightning
bolt. That way you don't have to wait for a store owner to send you a manual
invoice.

Just had a stroke of genius (or just a stroke ) while replying to post

I would really like to see more pics of our member’s pet. What do you think about
showing or introduce your animal companion to the BL membership here on the forum?

I suggest a new forum subtopic, under Off Topic: Pets

Anecdotes and/or pics of your pets? Maybe of interrupting your lego work or other
mischief. Or just an introduction of your nonhuman companion, new or old. What
your pet did today

Even though we don't have furry companions (son's allergies) we really
enjoy animal pics and stories. Think most do, evidenced by it's popularity
on youtube.

What do think? Think there is enough interest to warrant a sub-topic in the forum?

Captain Q approves.

Here are two kittens I am keeping of a 4 kitten litter I saved from living a
life as feral cats; named Tenshi and Quark. I found them while feeding some
feral cats. They were too young to capture right away, around 5 weeks, so I
pre-socialized them on the outside with wet food and playing with a cat favorite
toy, the fake bird on a string and stick. Had to do it at night as apartment
management disapproves of feeding the feral cats. Took some night vision video,
that I have not gotten around to editing yet.

Just noticed that the picture is rotated the wrong way, will leave it as is,
because it amuses me.

Regards,
Captain Q

Meh. Gave it some thought and didn't like it and changed it back. I'm
just going to retitle these heads so that they're searchable and they'll
also show up near the top of the list of heads:

Part No: 3626cpb1109 Name: Minifigure, Head without Face with Orange Fish with 3 White Eyes Pattern (The Simpsons Blinky) - Hollow Stud
*
3626cpb1109 Minifigure, Head without Face with Orange Fish with 3 White Eyes Pattern (The Simpsons Blinky) - Hollow Stud
Parts: Minifigure, Head

Maybe you could utilize something like ( NON-figure ) or something to that extent.
Or the ones that are not associated with figures could be moved over to ( brick,
round, decorated ) to help differentiate?
