Hi, apologies if this isn't the correct place to ask, but I was wanting to
create a list to mass upload parts to my inventory and was told about Brickstore
and Brickstock.

I was wanting to know if there was a way to search for a specific color of a
part. I've attached a picture as an example, I want to search for light
nougat female minifig heads. Is this possible in either of the applications?
If not is there a different piece of software I could use? Thank you!

I am not a Brickstore expert, but I don't see a way to do it there. However,
you might be able to do it here in the Bricklink site by filling in the form
here:

Looking for the keyword "female" in Item Type "Parts", Category "Minifigure,
Head", Colors "Light Nougat".

What color is this 1x12 technic brick? We got a couple from Legoland, but it
doesn't look like it's a color that has been produced in the last 10
years. My best guess is either dark blue-violet or blue-violet, but I don't
have any parts in those colors to verify. It looks like a darker version of dark
azure with just a little bit of green in it.

Thanks,
Brock

It's blue that was likely molded a long time ago; and as a result of that
era's mixed materials/colors, or simply discoloration from Sunlight exposure,
etc., they have changed hue over time... I have many of various shades of blue
from various older sets... the ones I have typically look brand new (shiny, no
scratches), they're just weird shades of blue...

Sets: Town: City: Police

* Add 2 Part BA164pb01 White Stickered Assembly 12 x 1 x 2 with White 'POLICE' On Black Background Pattern (Sticker) - Set 7245 - 1 Brick 1 x 12, 1 Brick 1 x 4, 2 Slope, Inverted 2 x 1 (Alternate)

Comments from Submitter:
Hey there, I hope I did this correctly. Basically I have the prisoner transport 7245 in the German (Green/POLIZEI) version and I noticed that there is no counterpart to the english version of BA164pb01 yet. All the other stickers are also listed in the German version, only this one was missing. Have a good one!

This request will not be approved since the part BA164pb01 is already included
in the inventory.
A new catalog entry is needed for the German sticker version (see further details
via mail).

Almost!

First add the "sticker over assembly" as a part, probably called 'BA164pb03'
Then add the image to that part (nice image!)
Then add the newly added part to the set as a "counterpart"

This was also long after the Samsonite era had come to an end (they were still
marketing Lego at the time, but not producing or distributing): http://www.miniland.nl/Historie/legoautos/samsonite/samsonite%20pagina%20eng.htm

Samsonite Canada was still producing parts, packaging sets and selling Lego well
into the 1980's. I have family who worked there into the 80's. The boxes
say right on them, made in Canada when entirely made in Canada. The proportion
of "Made in Canada" sets decreased, and it became, "Packaged by Samsonite" and
also "Imported by Samsonite"

I agree with my predecessors. Set 5004468 does NOT contain COL135. It contains
another minifigure, different from the COL135, composed of a head with hollow
stud, which we must create to put an end to the confusion (I propose a name starting
with HOL ...). The subject seems important to me, because the COL135 was valuable,
and its value has dropped due to the release in 2016 of an NON-IDENTICAL minifigure
included in the set 5004468. Some may judge the difference insignificant, it
is not for me. When I buy a minifigure, I hope it to meet my expectations. Some
may judge the difference insignificant, it is not for me. When I buy a minifigure,
I expect it to meet my expectations. A simple note "This minifigure has also
been found with the 'c' style head" is, in my opinion, insufficient,
because the difference is for me clearly established between the two minifigures.

I have added

I have requested the new minifig here:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?myPend=Y

I was not able to add the picture but this can be done only at a later point
of time as I remember...

The assembled part is not a big deal but the wrong inventorized minifig is...

Well, the new minifigure and the assembly need to be added to the catalog:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogAdd.asp

Please let us know if you have any questions (but have a bit patience, the Admin
team has just been reorganized).

I wanted also update the number of booklets to 11 for the 6464 instruction but
have not find the place to do that?

Link above - Change Item: Set
(BTW. you can also add or change other things there like weight or dimensions
of a set, box, etc.)

However the current maximum number of instructions which can be entered is 9
so I would suggest to do nothing here until the system allows larger numbers.

Picture of the correct minifig from set 6464:

3317 Brick, Modified 1 x 2 with Digger Bucket Arm Holder

It's a misCUT. Baseplaets are vacuum formed in large sheets and then cut

I'm not sure if they cut them too?

It's not the first time a non-standard baseplate have turned up

Before venturing in selling it, first thing to do is a deep inspection with magnifier/microscope/light
etc

If it happens that the part ID is for 16x16 baseplate, it would be a complete
different case, don't you think?

Better yet, what if it's an unknown ID?

Can I sell this item on Bricklink?

Yeah. Listing as a custom item probably is best here, so the customer really
knows what size they are getting. Baseplates can be manually cut and finished
to look quite professional even if the cut is not exactly the same as when done
officially. Proving it was genuinely made/supplied like that may be difficult.

I have a LEGO green baseplate with 16 x 21 studs, which does not seem to exist
on Bricklink (one size smaller is 16 x 18 and one bigger is 16 x 22). It is a
genuine LEGO baseplate, which is not cut, not broken or damaged whatsoever so
I'm wondering to which set this baseplate might belong. I suspect something
from Fabuland 3664 since I have other bricks from this set, but I'm not sure.
Can someone help me out? Picture is uploaded.

These were cut in the factory.
I do not know if it was done by an employee with a ‘cuttingmachine’ but maybe
it was miscalculated.
So a really nice survivor.

Can I sell this item on Bricklink?

If it most likely was cut by Lego I think you can but let others correct me if
I am wrong.

A lot of these older baseplates have a more white stressmark on the thin side
from the cut made in the Lego factory.
They were cut into shape from a very large plate.

So if you sell it make sure the size is very visible in your description to make
sure a potential buyer can read it and after selling make sure they really DID
read it since you can only put it on Bricklink like:
1) a custom item (not found easily)

This is the only option.

  2) at the entry of baseplate 16x22 studs, buyers can find it there but you need
tombe sure they know they are buying the 16x21 studs.

It is not a 16x22 plate, and no way you can prove it to be a misprint of it.

Pricewise? I wouldn’t know, maybe a few €’s more than the standard baseplate
or you can ask in this forum for a very interested member and reserve it for
a price you agreed on.

Since authenticity isn't discussed, I find it plausible that a defective

  Greetings BrickLink catalog enthusiasts!

You will be pleased to learn that we have just today appointed a new Catalog
Associate - Randyf. Randy has served as an Inventories Administrator for the
last couple years and has done a fantastic job. We feel this promotion, though
it has been long in coming, is very well deserved.

As a reminder to those who are still learning about the BrickLink Community Expert
Program, the Catalog Associate position gives admin privileges over the entire
catalog half of our BrickLink system. After one year's experience, Catalog
Associates are eligible for promotion to full Catalog Admin, which gives them
full privileges on both sides, for both catalog and inventories.

We plan to update the Hall of Fame page very soon. There are several things to
add, including Randy's time serving as Inventory Admin.

Please welcome our new associate!

Thanks for your efforts Randy!

For example, show me the most sought after animals but also the ones that cost
the most.

What do you mean by this? The most wanted or the most expensive? These are two
different concepts. You can find the most wanted animal (in each category) by
using the previous link. You can find the most expensive animals in a less satisfactory
way by going to search store and using the relevant animal category
https://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?viewFrom=sa&catID=147&searchSort=B&sz=500
although that is based on individual store prices rather than averages.

However, the most wanted is not the most expensive.

I think that they mean that they want the most bang for their buck; i.e., they
are looking for parts that are both expensive and on many wanted lists.

You are free to disregard my words, of course, but you are free to be disappointed
as well, no hard feelings.

Hey, look at that. A selling tool/feature that didn't take very long or
many resources to implement. Now, if I'm the only one who would find this
useful, then by all means, I'll live without it.

I wouldn't expect too much from BrickLink right now. It's been months
since the U.S. sales tax feature was implemented and there's still no word
on when exemptions will be available for resellers.

You are definitely not the only one that would find this useful. I would also
like the ability to sort sets by size, as I have a bunch of random boxes I am
looking to use and I want to know which sets will fit in the boxes.

I think you are right with the wanted lists used as inventory, however I'm
not sure a "added by hand" distinction would be relevant, I created most of my
wanted lists by parting sets, does this count as "by hand" or "import"?

In Suggestions, tec writes:

Don't everyone here have thousands already?

I suspect this is skewed by inventories imported into wantedlists, where the
most common parts always show up.

I would love to see a list of parts "added by human hand" imho.
Better, a list of human-parts which are not fullfilled yet, e.g. are picked up
by the search engine everyday.

I am not sure a minifig has ever been split over stud type. Usually it is a
run change within a set, so this might be a different case.

The most wanted parts are often some of the most highly listed quantities, and
cheapest parts. They are often most wanted as they have been in many sets, so
get added to many wants lists. The three most wanted torso assemblies for example:

Part No: 973pb0321c02 Name: Torso Vest with Pockets and Buttons over White Shirt, Tie with Blue Stripes, Light Nougat Neck Pattern / White Arms / Yellow Hands
*
973pb0321c02 (Inv) Torso Vest with Pockets and Buttons over White Shirt, Tie with Blue Stripes, Light Nougat Neck Pattern / White Arms / Yellow Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor.

Part No: 973pb0086c01 Name: Torso Shirt Dark Red Plaid, 4 White Buttons, Narrow Yellow Neck Pattern / Dark Blue Arms / Yellow Hands
*
973pb0086c01 (Inv) Torso Shirt Dark Red Plaid, 4 White Buttons, Narrow Yellow Neck Pattern / Dark Blue Arms / Yellow Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor.

Part No: 973pb0410c01 Name: Torso Mechanic Overalls with Silver Wrenches and Fasteners, Yellow Pen, and Black Undershirt Pattern / Medium Blue Arms / Yellow Hands
*
973pb0410c01 (Inv) Torso Mechanic Overalls with Silver Wrenches and Fasteners, Yellow Pen, and Black Undershirt Pattern / Medium Blue Arms / Yellow Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor.

have been in 20(22), 40(45) and 43(44) minifigures (or sets) respectively. And
none are particularly valuable.

What you are really requesting is a report of how much more an item is wanted
than for sale.

wanted list to items for sale
or
wanted list to lot for sale

Wanted 3212 / Lots for sale 14 = 229.4 times more wanted than lots for sale
Wanted 3212 / Items for sale 108 = 29.7 times more wanted that items for sale

included but not needed in the instructions? Or is this another 'packaged
by Samsonite' difference?

My memory could well be wrong but I had a lot of the Space sets from this era
while growing up and I don't remember *any* extras. Technic/Expert Builder
is another story.

This was also long after the Samsonite era had come to an end (they were still
marketing Lego at the time, but not producing or distributing): http://www.miniland.nl/Historie/legoautos/samsonite/samsonite%20pagina%20eng.htm

Take a look at the change log there.

I never noticed the messages from the forum attached to the changes. Very nice!

Not so nice that they're purged like other forum messages

Words and letters take up very little HD space. Images do. Please consider to
remove the ability to upload pics in the forum threads and retain all messages
(like all other normal forums do)

Cheers,

Ole
