| BL should stop showing estimated shipping and handling charges, as this gives
a false impression of what they are. For example, I almost placed an order at
this store. But reading through the terms, there are extra handling fees, extra
paypal fees and different shipping costs to those estimated and shown here.
Showing an estimated value gives a false impression, and may lead to a (supposedly
legally binding) order being placed only to find out the actual costs are significantly
higher than those estimated.
Of course, this could be completely removed by making the orders non-binding
until the seller has disclosed all costs and the buyer has a chance to agree
to them. But in the meantime, stop misleading buyers with incorrect estimated
values.

| Why does bricklink show this? A simple IF statement could be used to only show
a discount when it is possible for a buyer to achieve. Then it doesn't make
the store look stupid by offering discounts that a buyer cannot possibly take
advantage of.

LEGO ever confirmed that this character is meant to be female? I couldn't
find the online bios like they used to do.

| There is still something I do not understand about custom items and LEGO/BL rules.
Modified Parts: All parts listed in your store must be genuine LEGO parts
in their original, unmodified condition. Custom printed, engraved, chromed, or
painted parts are not permitted.
Non LEGO Items: Certain non LEGO items that are deemed by BrickLink to be part
of LEGO fan culture may be listed. These include literature about LEGO products,
LEGO memorabilia, and items used to make custom sets (e.g. stickers, instructions,
and boxes).
As I read the rules, a custom printed (or painted) minifigure with genuine LEGO
parts is banned. However, the exact same design can be printed onto a sticker
and would then be allowed if it is used to create a custom set. This set could
be a minifigure - so minimally a head, torso assembly and legs. So custom printed
minifigures are banned if the print is direct on the minifigure, but minifigures
with custom prints attached to them via stickers are allowed.
Is this a correct view of LEGO's new rules?
Custom stickers would obviously be non-LEGO, but how does anyone know if a new
design they create will be deemed by someone that works at Bricklink to be part
of LEGO fan culture (whatever that means).
For example, I have a load of Brickforge custom sticker decals for torsos. They
have existed for years - are they part of fan culture? What if I create a new
torso sticker design, is that part of fan culture because stickers have been
used to decorate torsos (both officially and unofficially) in the past, or not
part of fan culture as the new design has no history and is not part of fan culture.

| I notice that there are now a number of things like this in the catalogue under
GEAR:
[g=ST1]
[g=superman]
What are these meant to be?
Looking at Castle Byers, some people are usnig the listing to sell the set, some
the stickers, some sets with custom stickers, another the set with custom prints,
etc. No-one is actually selling just the instructions!
Is the intention that these should really just be the instructions given that
they come under a category called "Building Event Instructions"?
If so, why are they not listed like normal instructions? Is it because BL does
not recognise these as sets, and properly listed instructions must have sets
to go in?
I remember trying to add the Superman set long ago, and it was denied. But now
it seems the instructions do exist in BL's view, but the sets do not exist.
The strange thing is, when I got my Superman, they were using laser copy / printed
instruction sheets and you could get the PDF if you wanted it, but they did not
have "genuine" instruction sheets.

Has anyone actually seen this part in a BAM box with the mitt attached? I have
seen multiple of them in three different stores now, and they do not have the
mitt. They have a single hand and a missing hand. You can add either a mitt or
a hand, staff don't care.
So should this be listed with a mitt, given that this is not how it is supplied?
Or at least have a note about this, as not all the torsos will have mitts.

Is there a reason this keeps getting changed?
This set was originally listed as Actor, it was then changed to Thespian. I asked
for the Actor name to be reinstated, which it was, and then it was removed again.
The minifigure version has both names:
Why can the set not keep both names?
And on their webpages, LEGO refer to it as ACTOR. If it can have only one name,
then surely it should be the LEGO one.

Although the base colour is tan, the part colour is metallic gold. This is similar as the other Pharoah hats, such as 90462pb03 which is only available in metallic gold.

| I have always wondered why a brick is named by depth x length x height and not
by length as the primary number (length x depth x height). So for example, a
3010 is a 1x4 brick.
But why is the opposite used for assemblies? So for example, a 1x3 brick stacked
on a 1x4 brick with a sticker attached is called a ...
[p=BA41pb01]
4x1x2 length x depth x height.
I could have chosen all (most?) brick assemblies ...
[p=BA14pb02]
[p=BA04pb01]
Bizarrely, tiles don't follow this pattern ...

| The "buy wanted lists" feature currently suggests stores that have stop listed
the buyer if the other criteria the buyer uses are all met. This seems pointless.
Why does BL suggest a store that refuses to sell to the customer?
Of course, once I go to the store and find out I am stoplisted, I can least favourite
the store and then exclude least favourited stores from the wants list calculation,
but surely it should automatically exclude stores that refuse to sell to me (just
as I can exclude stores that will not ship to me).

Author: | yorbrick | Posted: | Jun 22, 2016 05:33 | Subject: | Calculate quotes and orders differently | Viewed: | 89 times | Topic: | Suggestions | Status: | Open | Vote: | [Yes|No]
| In the statistics I see when hovering over "My Store" and "My BL", the numbers
appears to be calculated differently.
Orders (My Store) - I have no number showing as all are dispatched (so nothing
showing means nothing to do).
Quotes (My Store) - I have a number here, even though nothing needs acting on.
The number is equal to the number of accepted quotes in the past six months.
Orders (My BL) - I have a number here, equal to the number of orders placed in
six months. All but one are filed as completed and so I have nothing to do to
them.
Suggestion - Can we have some consistency in how these numbers are calculated.
Why do we need to be shown the number of accepted quotes form months ago, when
we cannot do anything to them now? They are given and completed. Surely this
number would be better to tell us items where some action is needed.
The same with orders placed, if I have received, marked complete and filed an
order away, why do I need to be reminded about it. I'd prefer to see the
number open orders.
This is the way the orders received number seems to be working.
Is there some user-defined way of changing this that I have missed?

| When checking out, there is an "agree and continue" button (see example, I'm
using Marc's store, I'm sure he doesn't mind).
I think this should say something underneath - either:
"Clicking this button places the order" (if it does) or "You can review this
order before it's final" (if it doesn't place the order just yet).
I haven't placed an order under the new system yet, so I am in a position
of a first time buyer. It is not clear to me if the order will be placed if I
agree here.
It is not really clear to me if I am agreeing to anything yet. If the agreement
is not placed here, shouldn't the button just say "continue"?
The same wording is also used on a quote button (which I have used). Why do I
need to agree to anything when placing a quote? Surely this one should only say
"continue".

Author: | yorbrick | Posted: | Jun 10, 2016 07:33 | Subject: | Sorting inside stores | Viewed: | 102 times | Topic: | Suggestions | Status: | Already Exists
| When browsing items inside categories in stores, would it be possible to implement
a few new options for sorting.
Current these are:
Item name, color
Item number, color
Condition, item name
Color, item name
Price
Quantity
Sale amount
Date added
However, it is useful to be able to search for only new parts, by price. So could
we have
Condition, price
added, as that will then show all new (or used) ones grouped together sorted
by price (like we used to be able to do). It is then possible to skip over the
used stuff and list new stuff by price.
Or better still, have a condition: new/used tickbox, so we can filter to only
look at new parts if we want, and then use the various sort options. It seems
strange to me that you can filter items for sale globally by new / used yet cannot
do this in a store.
PS. Being able to see the date listed is a good feature too. Thanks for adding
that.

| Can the wording in quotes be changed. Quotes are not orders. If a question is
asked by the potential buyer asking for a quote, it gets called an order (by
the red flag). This is not correct, it is still a quote.
This is not about whether the quote system should exist, or how it works when
parts are bought by others. It is just to flag up the incorrect wording currently
used by BL that may cause confusion when an order has not been placed.
