To come back on the serif numbered bricks (3005pt{number}s) the variations in
print are due to the material (CA, ABS) and the mold pip (edge, side):

1. CA with old logo and edge mold pip (around 1958-1963). Old logo is wide straight.
2. ABS with old logo and edge mold pip (around 1963-1968). Old logo is wide round.
3. ABS with modern logo and side mold pip (around 1968-......)

See pictures.

This also explains the variantion in the print, which are in all the 3 cases
embossed. The 3005pt{number} is also embossed and the 3005pt{number}b has a surface
print.

In Catalog Identification, primadeluxe writes:
Within the serif numbered bricks (3005pt{number}s) I found also some difference
in the print. See picture. For example number 6: right in the picture has an
old logo on the stud and the two on the left have modern and old logo on the
stud, but I think this are just variations.

So maybe a reshuffle of the images, variantions and sets appearing is in order.
Also looking at set 237, because the bold numbered bricks could not be a alternate
for this set. The bold numbers all have a modern logo (1968) and yet in 1966
the set 237 (1960) was replaced by set 437. So the bold numbered bricks could
be a alternate for set 437, but not for set 237.

In Help, primadeluxe writes:
I think the serif number bricks (3005pt{number}s) should be appear in the 3 sets
487, 437 and 237 and not the ones which are know appearing (3005pt{number}).
Looking at the pictures of these sets, it would make sence, also because the
serif bricks have both the modern logo (appears in 1968) and old logo (appears
in 1958) on the studs.

The number bricks of my picture only have the modern logo on the stud and from
which sets they are I do not know. I have looked at a lot of pictures of sets
with numbered bricks, but did not find one with the bricks on my picture. So
they could easely be the 3005pt{number} bricks.

is neither bold nor with serif, so must be the middle one in your
picture. It's image is a render, not a photo. This may explain why it looks
differently. Looking at the part numbering, it may have originally been intended
as the non-distinguished variety, but seeing your picture, it must be the plain
(thin) variety.
Can you upload your image as an additional image for these parts? I think it
is enlightening to see the bricks side by side for comparison.

Anything sensible to say about the use of 3003pb008 versus 3003px3? I have quit
a few sets with exactly the opposite of the inventory on BL and there are not
a lot alternates. So any wisdom will be appreciated when shared.

O by the way, why is one with pb and the other with px?

Proof found on the image of the Legoland box (on BL). You can clearly see the
sticker on the back of the other side of the large firetruck, so in my opinion
part 3001oldpb07 is the right counterpart for set 590. Cheers!

Nice catch! Ask for a note and submit your image to show the differences.

In Catalog, crepundi writes:

Part No: 2494pb08 Name: Glass for Window 1 x 4 x 5 with 9 White Stripes Pattern (Sticker) - Sets 6386 / 6540
*
2494pb08 Glass for Window 1 x 4 x 5 with 9 White Stripes Pattern (Sticker) - Sets 6386 / 6540
Parts: Window, Glass & Shutter, Decorated
one has more wider and the other one more narrow stripes.
Looking at the sticker sheets of the two sets this part comes from I believe
the narrow one is from set 6386

Set No: 6386 Name: Police Command Base
*
6386-1 (Inv) Police Command Base
347 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 1986
Sets: Town: Classic Town: Police
and the wider from set 6540

Set No: 6540 Name: Pier Police
*
6540-1 (Inv) Pier Police
315 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 1991
Sets: Town: Classic Town: Police
Maybe there should be a remark about this.

Besides: how can I show a sticker sheet in a message?

Is this something that should be added to the catalog?

I checked 17 beds, part #76388, and they all have mold markings inside a bottom
tube, and 7 beds, part #4895 that all have mold marking on top of the bed (in
the center).

The sticker with the five stripes comes from the sticker-sheet for Ideas Book
6000.

Yes but there’s no official minifigure or part with this sticker applied, so
it should only be in the catalogue as a sticker on a sticker sheet.

Thank you very much. So it has no business with set 605 and minifig pln088. That
is why I asked to remove the old image and add the new picture.

Well I just looked at the shape of the sticker and the shape of the vest. The
both have 4 corners of which the bottom two of the vest are round, the top two
are angular. Looking at the corners of the stickers the have the same shape as
the vest. Bottom two round, top two angular. It is not no math to figure out
how the sticker should be placed on the vest.

I saw my images were added, including a note. Thanks for that! But the old images
are still there. It is okay with me, no problem, except for the minifig with
the vest with the sticker with five Chevron stripes (pln088). There is no stickersheet
with a sticker with five Chevron stripes. All of them have 7 Chevron stripes.

As for the 6647 and 641. I have recently submitted a new stickersheet for set
641, which shows the Chevron stripes going up. The only set with Chevron stripes
going down is set 6647 (see my inventory change request).

Instructions and other pictures just stating different views. Even within instructions
and other pictures of the same set. They are no use! Just look at the stickersheet
and the shape of the sticker .......

I would like some comments on the following investigation please:

I was busy with some sets with the Minifigure, Vest with Black Chevron Pattern
and I could not make any sence of it. Print, sticker, downward, upward!?!?!?

So I looked at all the sets and minifigs with this item from the base: the stickersheet.
Although there are three sets with the same stickersheet, instruction can not
be the base, because they do not tell the right story with different numbers
of Chevronstripes and downward/upward.

Before I start, I would like to say that I do not know if the vest has stickers
on both sides or on one side. All the stickersheets has double stickers for the
vest, except for set 670/558. But in no instructions is clear if the stickers
should be on both sides.

Here I go:

Set 641: the stickersheet shows 7 Chevronstripes upward, which is correct with
the minifig and the vest entry. So this set is consistent.

The same counts for set 670/558.

Set 6647: the stickersheet shows 7 Chevronstripes downward! As the minifig and
the vest entry shows 7 Chevronstripes upward, this set is NOT consistent. So
I will provide a new image and inventory for the minifig, which means part 3840pb19
will be connected to this set.

Set 607: the stickersheet shows 7 Chevronstripes upward! The picture of the minifig
shows 7 Chevronstripes downward. The inventory of the minifig is correct, so
I will provide a new picture of this minifig.

This also counts for set 542!

Set 605: the stickersheet shows 7 Chevronstripes upward! The picture of the minifig
shows 5 Chevronstripes upward. The inventory of the minifig is correct, so I
will provide a new picture of this minifig.

So that is all! I just want to say I did not find any sticker with 5 Chevronstripes.
All the stickersheets show 7 Chevronstripes. And I had some luck that the minifig
are only related to these sets!!!

Thanks for your time and please leave some comments, when I made a mistake somewhere.

I would say underside indentions.

is it worth to add a note for these baseplates

I would say it wouldn't hurt anything.

as they come in different variations?

I would agree.

All the baseplates from the 70's, which I have from original sets, have different
tubes (do you call them tubes?) compared with newer baseplates. I do not know
when this chance took place, but is it worth to add a note for these baseplates
as they come in different variations?

It would be a lot of work making pictures aspecially with all the baseplates
with white dots and I certainly do not have them all.

On the attached picture is a example from set 648-1. On the right the original
one from the 70's and on the left a newer one.

Here we go: (the answers are on the bottom of this message)

1. How many Classic Fire Logo stickers are on the stickersheet of set 374-1?
2. How many Classic Fire Logo stickers are on the counterparts together?
3. Which counterpart is responsible for the difference?
4. Can we just rename this counterpart? Yes or No?
5. Why not?
6. What can we do about this?

If you have correctly answered all the 6 questions, your price is the title 'logical
thinker of the day'!

Cheers, Wilbert

Answers:
1. Five
2. Six (3009pb043L: one; 3009pb043R: one; 3001oldpb07: two (both sides); BA067pb01:
two (both sides)
3. Part 3001oldpb07 (look closely to the frontpage of the instructions as the
instructions itself are not conclusive)
4. No
5. As counterpart 3001oldpb07 is also related to set 590-1, which has the right
number of Classic Fire Logo stickers on the stickersheet (six), which by the
way is not proven by the (frontpage of the) instructions. But ok .....!
6. I really do not know hahaha! No seriously: add a new counterpart for set 374-1.

Please make changes to the following inventory:

Set No: 347 Name: Fire Station with Mini Cars
*
347-1 (Inv) Fire Station with Mini Cars
189 Parts, 1970
Sets: LEGOLAND: Fire

* Add 1 Part 3189a Red Door 1 x 3 x 2 Left with Thin Handle (Alternate)
* Add 1 Part 3188a Red Door 1 x 3 x 2 Right with Thin Handle (Alternate)

Comments from Submitter:
I am not sure if this set just came with these doors with thin handles, as the set has at least been issued twice (one with FTPine and one with GTPine). That is why I submit the doors with thin handles as a alternate, because these are in the set I bought as a child. Or was it a birthdaypresent? Hahaha!
