Thanks a lot, Howard. Having images for both colors of all the parts would be
great. I will get the inventory updated.

|
That doesn't surprise me. And when you say "all", do you mean *all* 11 lots
in the set that are currently listed as pearl light gray? I just need to be sure.
| Should these parts be entered as counterparts?
|
Technically, they would be listed as alternates.
| Should a note be added to the inventory stating the set came with parts in one of
the two colors (but, with a caveat that also states all parts would be the same
color within the set)?
|
No. We would definitely go the route of adding alternates.
| I know that around the time the set debuted there was a color change over, could the
color listed in the inventory be wrong?
|
This is exactly when the color change occurred, so the color in the inventory
could definitely be wrong. At that time, those doing inventories had not been
introduced to the newer flat silver, so there is very likely some problems with
the first and possibly second waves of Hero Factory sets that had parts in the
newer flat silver. My personal feeling is that very few of the Hero Factory sets
probably had true pearl light gray parts. My son had a lot of them, and we don't
have any pearl light gray parts in our Hero Factory bin of parts.
I will go ahead and add the flat silver parts as alternates after I here back
concerning the question above.
Cheers,
Randy

parts for sale that there are far less flat silver parts for this set available
than there are in pearl light gray. Could the fact that this was a limited edition
set explain the differences in parts availability? I have 2 other Duncan Bulk
7168-1 sets. One with Pearl Light Gray parts and one with Flat Silver parts.
These both came from bulk (no pun intended) lots so, I have no idea of their
history. However, my 7179-1 was a sealed set that I have had on display. How
do proceed?

| I was trying to identify some Marbled Bionicle Rhotuka Spinner and I noticed
that only 2 colors show up in the known colors list. However, if you click the
link for Color Images it shows actual pictures of 13 identified colors. Why aren't
the other 11 colors shown in the known list? I have the Yellow Marbled and Dark
Red Marbled on hand if additional pictures are needed. The ones I have came from
a bulk lot purchased years ago so, I have no way to identify which set they are
from. My intuition tells me they were from either set #8748-1 or set #6620-1.
While I'm on the topic, does anyone know if the Spinners in set 8749-1 were
all of one color (I am referring only to the 4 Marbled Spinners without code)?
A standard mix of colors? or Completely random assortment of color?

However, they are not yet listed under the counterparts for the set they are

appear after tonight's update or do I need to do something else to get them
listed correctly?

the product designer was kind enough to sign the sealed bags for us too. Kinda
something to hold on to for a while. Currently offered as part #39789. Our team

| In Inventories Requests, StormChaser writes:
I wanted to include some additional information about this set for future reference
and an inventory change is the best way to do that.
First, I personally and carefully checked every single brick in this set from
sealed contents for which I opened every bag and handled the parts (photos of
my set attached). Mine was the early version of the set released in 1991 and
there were 12 bags in the set. All of the bricks included cross supports except
a single 2 x 3 brick in yellow (the other 11 of the same brick had cross supports).
This is a late appearance for this brick (two years late according to BrickLink's
current timeline) and I was surprised to find it, but there it was.
As for inside supports, those little ridges inside the brick which are only currently
distinguished for one brick (the Brick 2 x 2 without Inside Supports in case
the title or part number changes in the future):
All bricks in the set, including those with designs, had these ridges with the
exceptions listed below. I mention this because it will be useful data if we
decide to distinguish these parts in the future (I compared the parts listed
below (except the last two, for which I had no comparison parts) to recent examples
and all of the newer bricks I checked had inside supports).
The aforementioned 2 x 3 brick in yellow without cross supports.
All 2 x 6 bricks in the set.
All 2 x 8 bricks in the set.
All 2 x 10 bricks in the set.
All 4 x 12 bricks in the set.
All 8 x 16 bricks in the set.
The empty window frames had hollow studs as I indicated in the inventory. The
bricks with eyes had no white included as indicated in the inventory.
Finally, and I really don't think we'd ever distinguish this difference,
exactly half of the doors and windows were attached to the left and half to the
right. So two doors attached facing left and four windows attached facing left
and the same number of each facing right. TLG did not distinguish this difference
and I see no need for us to. The door and window directions are easily reversible.
The complete contents of the set are the storage case with no lid, 12 bags of
parts and four green large bricks loose, the cover/inventory cardboard with nothing
printed on the other side, four double-sided activity/instructions cards, and
the informational sheet of paper. All of these are included in an outer original
box with the set number printed thereupon. I have the activity cards from the
1994 version and verified that each of these was different than the 1991 version
in spite of having the same 6-digit identification number printed on each card
for both versions.
I'm certain this last bit has no relevance whatsoever to the discussion,
but I mention it for the sake of completeness: my second cousin's first name
is Frank.

both sides of that piece. Anybody know what I am dealing with here? trying to

|
Only 4 part #4515 are needed to complete the build for this set. This set came
with optional stickers in case you have more than one and want to display them
together but have them be distinctive. I found the following at brickset;
"Take the battle to the Separatists with the Republic Attack Gunship! This heavily
armed and armored Clone Wars troop carrier can fly and land in any battlefield
or hostile terrain. Features include opening troop bay doors, removable command
station and healing chamber, positionable cannons, spy droids, flick missiles,
a speeder bike that deploys from the back, and multiple decals to create different
gunships for your army. But will even Obi-Wan Kenobi and Plo Koon be enough
to stop the sinister Asajj Ventress and her double Sith lightsabers? Includes
Obi-Wan Kenobi, Plo Koon, Asajj Ventress, Commander Cody and Clone Trooper minifigures!
Side troop bay doors open! Open the front side compartment to remove the command
station! The 2 cockpits in front and the 2 on the wings open! Features 8 positionable
flick-fire missiles on top and 2 rotating missiles in front! Back hatch opens
to deploy the speeder bike! Open the compartment on top to access the spy droids!
Measures 14" (36cm) long, 17" (43cm) wide and 7" (18cm) high"
If I were building this for myself I would get an extra pair of 4515's and
apply the extra stickers for easier storage.
