Hi,
I would like to DELETE all items in my inventory and later upload them with the
correct quantities.
How should I do it?
Thank you

set 40166 has a new counterpart in the minifig,

the darktan hair is different in about half of the sets i parted,

new partnumber that has to be added is, 25972 instead of 62810

tried changing it in the inventory (no luck since its a minifig entry) so cannot
use the inventory id of the part.

tried the minifig, but that can't have alternate parts,

why does this have to be so hard?
trying to add to the catalog seems to be a 1 time thing for me now, since it's
already taking me 30 minutes to do this, and nothing has happened,

At long last, it is time. By the end of March, my goal is to eliminate duplicate
catalog entries for sticker sheets:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogRelList.asp?relID=15

You can see that this has been moved from Section 11.1 to 11.2 on the roadmap:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2476

I have some ideas, but I'd like to hear yours - especially those of you who've
given this some thought over the past decade or so that some of us have wanted
it.

Sticker sheets are handled quite consistently at the present moment. How can
we retain that consistency while eliminating duplicate entries with the least
amount of disruption?

As a side note, how do you feel about the NA/International duplicate entries?
These are the same sticker sheets, but have different item numbers, differently-sized
paper backing, and in some cases a slightly different finish (matte vs. glossy).
I don't want to get too distracted with this particular side discussion,
but do we need to maintain separate catalog entries for these sheets? Do you
want us to?

Looking forward to hearing some discussion and seeing some ideas other than my
own to get these duplicate entries handled.

Hello, I was looking at the Special Assembly category

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catString=961

And I was wondering how do you make one for the catalog?

I wanted to make a few for some different assemblies, like the Minecraft Iron
Golem figure.

Why is 10507 listed as 1x1 in studs?

10507 is
x: 7.9mm
y: 11.2mm
z: 11.1mm

making it 1 x 1.4 in studs.

Is this just another one of those places of inconsistency madness?

The other day I was searching the catalog.
I typed in "Saber-Tooth" and only the following two minifigs came up.

Minifig No: loc125 Name: Saber-Tooth Tiger Warrior 1
*
loc125 (Inv) Saber-Tooth Tiger Warrior 1
Minifigures: LEGENDS OF CHIMA

Minifig No: loc126 Name: Saber-Tooth Tiger Warrior 2
*
loc126 (Inv) Saber-Tooth Tiger Warrior 2
Minifigures: LEGENDS OF CHIMA

I was looking for

Part No: bb0787c03pb01 Name: Cat, Large (Saber-Toothed Tiger) with Light Yellow Eyes, Long Teeth and Reddish Brown Stripes Pattern
*
bb0787c03pb01 Cat, Large (Saber-Toothed Tiger) with Light Yellow Eyes, Long Teeth and Reddish Brown Stripes Pattern
Parts: Animal, Land

which I found by going to animal, land and typing "cat, " then scrolling.

Should all be Tooth or all be Toothed ?

Or maybe just left alone, and I use better search practices like "saber-t*"
or just "tiger"

I know, there'll be pain with the renaming and whatnot, but it would be nice
if all the axle holes on all the pieces were named consistently and were referred
to in a consistent manner in the item number.

Then there's the issue of sometimes two things that are the similar have
two different catalog numbers and other times two things that are similar have
a single number and a note. So the whole handling of naming and suffixing is
kind of all over the place.

If that page isn't clear, hit me up.

Going thru some unsorted parts and I found the 32553 in dark bluish gray with
the 32554 in trans dark blue that was missing from the catalog. I have uploaded
the picture as a counterpart (32553c06) to set 8610-1.

I bought 10+ pcs of 3846pb31 Minifigure, Shield Triangular with Black and Silver
Falcon Pattern from 2 different sellers. Seller1 has LEGO markings at the back
of all his shields, while Seller2's shields have none.

I checked it and it came from 1 set only. Question is, why some have LEGO markings
while others have none? Are those legit LEGO?

There is still something I do not understand about custom items and LEGO/BL rules.

Modified Parts: All parts listed in your store must be genuine LEGO parts
in their original, unmodified condition. Custom printed, engraved, chromed, or
painted parts are not permitted.

Non LEGO Items: Certain non LEGO items that are deemed by BrickLink to be part
of LEGO fan culture may be listed. These include literature about LEGO products,
LEGO memorabilia, and items used to make custom sets (e.g. stickers, instructions,
and boxes).

As I read the rules, a custom printed (or painted) minifigure with genuine LEGO
parts is banned. However, the exact same design can be printed onto a sticker
and would then be allowed if it is used to create a custom set. This set could
be a minifigure - so minimally a head, torso assembly and legs. So custom printed
minifigures are banned if the print is direct on the minifigure, but minifigures
with custom prints attached to them via stickers are allowed.

Is this a correct view of LEGO's new rules?

Custom stickers would obviously be non-LEGO, but how does anyone know if a new
design they create will be deemed by someone that works at Bricklink to be part
of LEGO fan culture (whatever that means).

For example, I have a load of Brickforge custom sticker decals for torsos. They
have existed for years - are they part of fan culture? What if I create a new
torso sticker design, is that part of fan culture because stickers have been
used to decorate torsos (both officially and unofficially) in the past, or not
part of fan culture as the new design has no history and is not part of fan culture.

I have a question for English speaking people:

What is the difference between:

Part No: 42367 Name: Duplo, Train Intelli-Train Engine Base Battery Case Lid (Fits 6172)
*
42367 Duplo, Train Intelli-Train Engine Base Battery Case Lid (Fits 6172)
Parts: DUPLO, Train

Part No: 32290 Name: Electric, Motor 4.5V 17 x 6 x 5 Battery Cover
*
32290 Electric, Motor 4.5V 17 x 6 x 5 Battery Cover
Parts: Electric, Motor

I mean between: "battery cover" and "battery case lid"
Can't be both named "battery cover" ?

PS: some parts are named "battery box cover" other "battery case cover"
I think we should delete "case" and "box"

I am just finishing the inventory for the new space station, 21321.

I have submitted a new part for an 8x3 flag with rod under 35252pb01. I did
this following the number for the previous decorated flag in the catalog, 35252pb01.

When i was confirming the inventory, i noticed that the white flag under 30292
(7x3 flag with rod) was the same size as the 8x3 flag with rod. I believe that
the 35252pb01 listing is wrong and should be a 30292pb number as should the one
i added.

Are they different parts or is just a catalog error that i followed?

Cheers
Douglas

Is there any way to edit the way the Catalog is displayed? There are some types
of Lego that I'm not interested in and they just clutter up the Catalog tree.
For instance, 19 Duplo and 7 Mini Doll categories that I'll never bother
looking at. (I'm okay with Fabuland!)

It would be good for consistency in the catalog description if all instances
of numbers were either integers or words, not arbitrarily some of each.

So:

Three eyeballs, Three earlobes

or

3 eyeballs, 3 earlobes

not

Three eyeballs, 3 earlobes

...that kind of thing.

There are pros and cons for each option. Please investigate how the search mechanism
works to see which option yields better results.

We are finally making serious headway with the catalog backlog. The catalog
change requests queue is cleared out.

In the spirit of trying to ensure that the Catalog Roadmap is not just something
to look at, I am continuing with the goal of moving through one project each
month. We have essentially had a January project (flesh to nougat) and there
is a new project starting today for February:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2476

What is this project?

This project involves accurately describing the differences between early (old)
versions of an item and later (new) versions. We need this for two reasons:

1. Using the words "old" and "new" were easy ways to avoid having to describe
actual differences between items. Set numbers in minifigure titles performed
the same function, which is why they were removed.

2. When a third version of an item appears, the old/new descriptors are useless.
Similar items should be described by their differences (usually the way in which
the later version is different from the earlier version).

There are around 500-1000 items expected to be affected by this project.

How can members contribute?

For the immediate moment, members may contribute by submitting title change requests.
I'm not sure how we're going to do item numbers yet, so hold off on
those. If you're not confident that you know exactly what this project entails
or need clarification on a specific issue, then please ask before submitting
a request.

For the immediate moment, ignore the additional topic bundled with this project
(looking at the use of with/without in titles). We may be able to include that,
or it may need to be made its own project. This project should also look at
the use of early/later descriptors since they serve the same function as the
terms old/new.

The goal is to wrap this up by the end of February. Of course, we also have
catalog work still to do and that takes precedence over projects - so this may
run over schedule.

Found some frosted trans-light-blue 1x4 bars in a set recently and I'm not
comfortable mixing them with my current inventory. They are quite different and
I don't think a customer who orders several would be happy getting a mixture.

Part No: 30374 Name: Bar 4L (Lightsaber Blade / Wand)
*
30374 Bar 4L (Lightsaber Blade / Wand)
Parts: Bar

The additional notes state:

"Alternate item number 28697 is used for transparent colors. This mold variant
has no bubbles and number 28697 molded on it. It has been found in two variations
clear and frosted as showed on additional images."

So it seems the catalog admins are aware of the difference and have decided not
to reflect it in the catalog here? Personally I think this is a mold variation
worth recognizing.

The old dragster set has a white correction sheet for step 16. It has a part
number on the page that doesn't show up in searches (120356).

Am I missing the entry somewhere? If not, should an entry exist? Or a note with
the instructions entry? (I could have sworn I had seen a note about this previously...)

Thanks!!

I have a batch of incomplete minifigures. I need help identifying them to find
out what parts I need to complete them. I seem to remember there were a couple
of sites which had this information but I can't remember the names.

Can anyone help please?

Minifig No: sw0166 Name: Imperial Shadow Trooper
*
sw0166 Imperial Shadow Trooper
Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Legends
Marked for Deletion
Interesting, more than ten years and almost nobody noticed it.

(OK I understand we can see them only from the front as they never retreat when
they attack so you can't see their back )

Interesting in our catalog torso is showed without long line.

Part No: 973pb0444c01 Name: Torso SW Armor Shadow Trooper Pattern / Black Arms / Black Hands
*
973pb0444c01 (Inv) Torso SW Armor Shadow Trooper Pattern / Black Arms / Black Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor.
Marked for Deletion

According to the information which I found here
http://minifigs.nl/swminifigs/mfnl-shadow-ms.html
one with long line could be from magnet set from 2009.

Gear No: 852715 Name: Magnet Set, Minifigures SW (3) - Darth Vader, Snowtrooper, Shadow Trooper - with 2 x 4 Brick Bases blister pack
*
852715 (Inv) Magnet Set, Minifigures SW (3) - Darth Vader, Snowtrooper, Shadow Trooper - with 2 x 4 Brick Bases blister pack
Gear: Magnet: Star Wars

so from sets which were issued earlier 2007 and 2008 could be one with short
line
My with short line is from set

Set No: 7667 Name: Imperial Dropship
*
7667-1 (Inv) Imperial Dropship
65 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 2008
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars Legends

I have also two in my collection with long line but bought them years ago loose
without sets.

I submitted both as new as in this case sw0166 should be marked for deletion
as we don't know which one is currently sell under this entry.

Hello,

I get a NAM (Shell) 2014 Christmas Holiday Giveaway from the brand Blokbrick
with seemed to cooperate with the Lego Company.
I've never seen these item and it's not listet in the bricklink.
Probably these set is an interseting item for the bricklink catalouge. If these
set will listed, I can send you better pictures, a tile list and the instruction
as pdf.

The parts are completly orignial Lego, the 1x1 Tile with the NAM Logo is printed.

Greetings from germany

When adding photos to the catalogue, can you only add 1 at a time for the same
part?

I just added 2 photos of a new part that i added to the catalogue, one a rendered
photo and the other showing the part from 2 angles. Now it only shows the second
photo i added and the other has disappeared.

Cheers

Hello everyone,

Today I am very pleased to announce we have a new Catalog Associate! As you may
see from the Hall of Fame, StormChaser has previously held two catalog-type admin
positions - Inventories Admin and the legacy Catalog Admin - and has recently
returned to the site.

We're delighted he has decided to come back, and I know many of you missed
him as well. He has many ambitious plans for the catalog, and now that we have
more staff on board, it's looking as though we can start making some serious
headway.

So please join me in welcoming him. You can see his familiar profile in line
with the others here:

https://www.bricklink.com/memberAdmins.asp

StormChaser is also the first member to officially join our new Community Expert
Program. We hope to see the other catalog admins joining in the next day or two,
and the rest of our admins within the week.

Hi

For now as we have more changes in discussion, can't we put the colours back
to how they were. I'm sure a few more days/weeks of flesh isn't going
to hurt us.

Then discuss with the Lego Company regarding changing all colours to their colours
- we are part of their group. What they say will be correct !!

I had a crazy week last week and didn't get a chance to manually pull my
Brickarms inventory before Lego kicked it off the site. I was hoping it would
be somewhere that I can still see what I had in my inventory. Does anyone know
if this is possible? Otherwise, I have absolutely no way to find them in my shelves
without access to the old listing details. Am I just going to have to stumble
across them over time as I pull other orders and see them? I was hoping they
would go into stockroom with no option to relist or something like that, not
just completely disappear. I should have screenshotted it so I had a record of
my previous inventory and its location, but didn't get a chance to between
when I saw the notice and when they pulled the listings.

in your list of item for the 1880 set, you mention 3 of the green plant flower
stem (3741), but to complete the set you need 4.
Also, you listed 4 green window 1X2X3 shutter, which is the case, but on the
original list of pieces, there is 8 listed, I don't know why.

have a nice day

I can't help myself from returning to this topic.

It is not right to erase people who have contributed to the catalog and turn
them into a meaningless number (and a username that rhymes with "loser.").

The first attached image shows people who have contributed a set inventory to
the catalog. For each person it was only one inventory, but it was time they
took out of their day or week to make a contribution.

The second image shows people who have added items to the catalog. One person
added 113 items. Another added 97 items. Yet another added 87 items. And so
on down the list.

Some of these unregistered users are no doubt dead. Some have moved on to new
pursuits. Some may be in a coma or in prison. Who knows why any one person
hasn't logged on or may never log on again?

BrickLink wants contributions. BrickLink wants an involved community. But when
BrickLink treats former contributors so dismissively, by erasing them into meaninglessness,
it makes me think they have no respect for contributors.

BrickLink contributors deserve better treatment than this. Anonymizing people
who have contributed to the catalog was a poor decision. It was a careless and
heartless decision.

I urge the site to reconsider the decision to anonymize any former catalog and
inventory contributors.

I'm sure people would be willing to pay a small fee to use it. I would.

I feel like Bill in that I find myself making observations and then posting them
in the forum whilst saying, "Hmmmm." This is my Bill moment.

I just searched for the Where Are My Pants person from The LEGO Movie. The system
excluded 75% of my keywords. So . . . what's the point of titling this character
this way if 75% of the title is useless?

Wouldn't it be better to simply title him "Pants Guy" and leave it at that?

What are the differences in these parts? The images seem to me to show exactly
the same parts in different colours.

Am I missing something or are the images for the second part wrong?

who has this part verify the correct dimensions?

Hi,
I recently purchased a used 7662 MTT set. Instead of the 4460a reddish-brown
slopes listed in the BrickLink inventory, it came 4460b slope. I also noticed
the set listed 4460b slopes in DBG as a counterpart. I know it is a longshot,
but could someone who purchased this set brand new check if their set's 4460
slope has hollow studs or open studs. Thank You!
