So the two do look like trans-light blue in the pic, but look darker in real
life. But the other three are obviously trans black which bl has no listing for.
And they as ll came from the titan mech set.

I have 11 new Naginatas all from the Titan Mech set 70676. However, there is
an obvious color difference among them when held up to the light. 5 of them look
trans-black, and the others look trans-dark blue (even the staff of the piece
has a bluish look when held just right in the light).

But the current Bricklink catalog only has Naginatas with a trans-orange blade
and trans-light blue, both of which mine don't fit. Does anyone else with
these pieces notice this color discrepancy? I'm not sure how to list these
pieces as I feel I'd be listing them incorrectly.

My string is actually 77.5 cm.

Pics to Follow

The string on my new 7838 is 76cm. This is why the length of wires and strings
should be rather given something like "about 75cm", not "75cm" or not "15 studs".

That's what the entry means. 75cm means about or at least 75cm long.

I did not know it meant that and I still don't know what part of the entry
means that neither. I have seen many people confused when listing these wire/assmbely
itmes. Some mentioned in their listing "the wire is 1cm short"...
I meatured 5 wires that comes with wire

Set No: 7722 Name: Steam Cargo Train, battery
*
7722-1 (Inv) Steam Cargo Train, battery
466 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 1 Book, 1985
Sets: Train: 4.5V
and they were 2cm of difference (max length - min length= 2cm)
Not only many people are confused, so were some catalog admins. Here we have
these two entries, probably the same:
[s=765c96]
and
[s=766c94]

The other level of confusion is whether the length of wires include the connectors
or not. I think it is better we do not, because if an item is named something
like
"Electric, Wire 12V / 4.5V with two 2-prong connectors, with wire of approximate
length 40cm"
then we can inventory the item with "wire of approximate length 40cm" so less
confusion. Then the same entry for wire can be used to create other wire/connector
assembly like
"Electric, Wire 12V / 4.5V with two 2-prong connectors without middle pin, with
wire of approximate length 40cm"
or
"Electric, Wire 12V / 4.5V with male Squared Wide Short Connector and Male Squared
Narrow Long Connector, with wire of approximate length 40cm"

They can all be inventories with
"wire of approximate length 40cm".

that is because BrickLink inventories are based on sealed set contents, and they
have features that other systems do not have, such as complete minifig and minifig
part data, stickers, counterparts, and extras. This is the reason that sellers
prefer to part out using BrickLink inventories, even if it means they have to
wait a while.

Sorry but BL has always been VERY slow when it comes to do inventorys (or rather
the Pending Approval).
Recent example: 40395 - 23 lots aka 67 parts. A set is out since 8 days and even
up on Legos site should be up including part list on BL by now imho.

Well right now we have a sort of "situation" which is slowing things down more
than normal. But also, that is not really an important set. Nowhere near the
importance of the latest collectible minifigures. If someone has to wait until
February for that one, it's not the end of the world. Besides, like you say,
other sites have it. So let people use those other sites.

I dont know how the policy is about naming other websites (especially now that
TLG owns BL) but the biggest lego moc site has the part list which includes no
stickers, minifigs or any new parts.

The new Terms of Service include the Discussion Forum Rules, and they haven't
changed. You can name anything you want. Just don't promote a competitor
site.

thats no critic of your work Russel just my 2 bricks.

I don't take criticism personally - this is a community effort.

We could import the data just like Brickset and other places do, but that's
not the kind of inventory data our users have come to expect. BrickLink inventories
first and foremost are for parting out new sets. Because we know what a monkey
wrench it throws into the system when people part out an inventory with an error
in it, we do EVERYTHING we can to prevent an error in an inventory. It has to
be complete, complete, complete, with no errors.

We will not divulge the measures we take to check our inventories, but I will
say that the steps we take are considerable and when an inventory rolls off the
assembly line it is virtually bulletproof. And with our continual updates, it
will remain bulletproof as long as the catalog exists.

The volunteer admins are currently on break waiting for the status to be settled
with The Lego Group, so Russell is working alone right now. He's approving
new items and new inventories, but he isn't doing a lot of changes to old
inventories. I don't know what the timeline is, but you may have to wait
until Randy and Paul are back.

Thanks for clarifying. Everything above seemed to refer to inventories getting
made. For instance the set that we were talking about, 10270, has never been
reserved. The inventory is not pending. No one has decided to do it.

This item
[p=bb0007pb01]
existed already in colors black and blue. I am not sure why this motor was recently
added

bb0007c01pb02 Electric, Motor 4.5V Type A 12 x 4 x 4 (Train) with White '4,5 V.' Pattern
Parts: Electric, Motor
Perhaps for the extra black plate glued underneath. But I have not seen
[p=bb0007pb01]
without this black plate.
Also, the name of the item bb0007c01pb02 is "...with 4.5 VOLT stamped on front"
but it should be "...with 4.5 V. stamped on front".
I think I will soon request to remove bb0007c01pb02 unless if somebody gives
an evidence that bb0007c01pb02 appeared without this extra glued black plate.
Note that the photo on the catalog cannot be an evidence because the plate could
have separated and fell from the motor.

I agree with you, however, I have the same problem as Marek. I already use an
online dictionary and look for existing similar pattern in the catalog when submitting
new parts, but sometimes that does not help either. In the case of the two liftarms,
I found stickered parts from set 42082 which are also only named "Warning Sign
(#1/#2)". And to be honest, I don't want to spend half an hour to find a
description for a single stickered part. For example, I wouldn't even know
how to call that in German:

Part No: 60483pb004 Name: Technic, Liftarm Thick 1 x 2 - Axle Hole with Warning Sign 2 Pattern (Sticker) - Set 42054
*
60483pb004 Technic, Liftarm Thick 1 x 2 - Axle Hole with Warning Sign 2 Pattern (Sticker) - Set 42054
Parts: Technic, Liftarm, Decorated
Without any technical background, that looks like a bunch of French fries to
me.

Having said that, I think I will stick to use numbers when I really have no idea
for a better naming and the only alternative would be not to submit the part
at all. But of course you (or anyone else) are welcome to change them to a more
specific description whenever you want and maybe I can learn something from it.

Regards,

he shouldn't. It is perhaps a "Line of Fire Warning".

Regards,
Jonas

might it be better to have the sticker number
instead of 1 and 2. At least that way, there is a method to it.

Unfortunately in those two above sticker number is the same

I have a masterful command of the English language (no Polish sadly) and I have
no idea how to describe those blue ones where someone who was looking for them
would find them.

For those particular parts, a difference that could be identified in the titles
would be:

Triangle Facing Model Left
Triangle Facing Model Right

For the two Technic liftarms the actual warnings displayed on the stickers could
be described in the title.

For the modified tiles, the images are too small to even see clearly. So the
difference between those particular parts would need to be determined by looking
at the sticker sheets.

But the point is that we should all try to move away from this pattern 1/pattern
2 practice whenever possible. And I'm sure that if someone looks back through
stuff I've added that I've done it, too.

I once submitted a torso something like Torso I seriously have no idea pattern.
Admin must have fixed it, but I don't remember what it was now.

It was this one

Part No: 973pb3326c01 Name: Torso Hoodie Tattered over Black and Red Shirt, Purple Tendrils Pattern / Light Bluish Gray Arms with Cracks Pattern / Light Bluish Gray Hands
*
973pb3326c01 (Inv) Torso Hoodie Tattered over Black and Red Shirt, Purple Tendrils Pattern / Light Bluish Gray Arms with Cracks Pattern / Light Bluish Gray Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor.
