I’d support it. I’s been put forth and discussed from time to time, but never
implemented.
As long as all the parts are genuine Lego, I vote yea.

Yes, you can add them to your store as a custom figure.
|
I don't understand the system in place, because the only minifigures in the
MOC character category are pad printed. And if you visit the Custom Items,
the actual mini MOCs are still buried by the homebrew plastic listings.
There's probably wide community out there, looking for this. Eurobricks enthusiasts,
for one. There's definitely overlap with BrickLink there. Personally, I keep
posting figgy projects in the forum and people still click on those (thank you),
so maybe we'd see more mini MOCs if there was a proper place for them?

It would be nice to have a distinction between customs and MOCs. Add a minifig
category to the MOC Shop?

For example,
1. I want to get only police swat van from set 60008 Museum Break-in.(don't
need any part like figs or Museum)
2. But there is only brick information for whole set(Unnecessary a lot of information

I know that the "east buy" function already exists.

This already exists, for some sets, via special assemblies.
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catString=961
But still, someone has to go through the manual working out what parts are needed
for each assembly.
|
|
I actually added a couple of special assemblies such as the Whomping Willow and
the Ford Anglia, and being one of the one sellers for each, those sold almost
immediately, even after listing them again. Another one I did was the Giant Ant-man
- sold 2 of them instantly after posting them.
But as Randy mentioned, it sounds like a nightmare for them to try to manage
so I can understand why they only did a small test run. It's unfortunate
though, because a site like BL is perfect for people looking for just these parts
of the sets.

Actually, the reason they are on hold for further additions is due to site limitations
that make it very hard for the inventories of these items to be administered.
The main limitations are two-fold: (1) these inventories cannot have alternates
at present so alternates must be tracked through inventory notes, and (2) these
inventories must be manually kept in sync with set inventories when changes are
made to the set inventories that they are in. You can see that if we rapidly
expanded these additions to the catalog, it would quickly become an administration
nightmare.

That shouldn't affect the prices of sets sold as complete so there is no
reason to stop selling those. But yes, incomplete sets can be anything from almost
complete to a few bricks. But it means sellers must use common sense when pricing
them.

But isn't there only one single entry for used sets in the price guide, regardless
of completeness?

It doesn't work at all well at the moment. You have to know one exists to
find it. Or you can look through the inventory of every set, and right down the
bottom under counterparts you will find the assembly(ies) if it(they) exists.

Or browse https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catID=961
Must the item be in hand for it to be added and inventoried?

| The first is folks sending messages directly to my PayPal and BrickLink notifications
email address. Which I don’t check on a regular basis.
Wouldn’t it be better all round if the user email address were hidden? therefore
emails would have to go thru the message system.
Leads to the second. BrickLink notifications are often delayed by two or three
days, then they all come thru together. Which is why I don’t check that mail
box often. Fairly frequently I receive the order placed notification AFTER I
have shipped the order!
I check messages on site, every morning when I first log on.
Also would benefit BrickLink as it would be far more difficult to trade off site,
if anyone were so inclined.
Please give this some consideration, it works well on the other place.
Thanks, Graham

When clicking on "Wanted List" after entering a store, BL shows me the items
this store offers which are on my wanted list. Before the update, the list only
contained the items from my wanted list which were priced below my max prices.
This changed with the update of the store fronts: Now always *all* items are
being shown. The only difference is, that the "Max price:" information of items
with prices higher than my max prices is being shown in red letters.
Too much information! I do not want to scroll through the bigger part of my wanted
list every time, I simply want to know quickly which items from my wanted list
are available for a good price in a specific store... no chance. I have not used
my wanted list for a year now.
Kind regards,

I agree, I had forgotten about this. I think its part of the store display,
not the wanted list functions, but I agree. It is a huge pain to see unfiltered
wanted list matches in each store. Please add the filter options back!
1. Store price
2. Store quantity = wanted list min quantity
3. Both price and quantity match.
Thanks!

Has this issued been sorted out? Or are there any tweaks?
When inside a store, is there way to see only the items on my wanted list *below*
my max price?
Thank you.

| Hi!
As you're a seller, you can use "Stockrooms" here on bricklink. By default
there is only one Stockroom, but you can enable 3 Stockrooms in the settings
(A, B and C). You could use one of them for your personal collection for example
- that would be the easiest solution without any additional program or website.
Kind regards,
Michael

Possibly. I used to get a lot of international orders made and then cancelled

Yeah, I'm sure. I've stopped buying from the USA for that reason.
Maybe put a line in your terms about what it will cost for international orders
for a couple of weight bands and turn on quotes (if you haven't already)
to allow international buyers to ask for postage costs if they need to.

The current Have feature is useless. It's the same as Want.
Easier is to create an Ordered Wantlist and move the items there until they're
received.
|
I actually find the "Have" feature to be very useful, though I would like an
"Ordeded/Purchased" feature too; I've purchased loads of parts multiple times
accidentally, as I'd forgotten I had already ordered them and didn't
check through my current orders properly. If I could mark wanted parts as "Ordered"
it would save me time. money and storage space.
|
That's exactly what the Have feature was supposed to do, but it doesn't
subtract anything from Want.
|
It does though. If you look in your Wanted list it clearly shows how many you
Want and how many you Have in hand. Now go to a store and select Wanted List
it shows sjhows your Wanted Qty (which is original Wanted minus Have).
As for Have - I don't want it
|
I just checked and it still doesn't subtract Have from original Want.
Usually I don't want to search for the original Want quantity but for new
Want quantity.
|
But I can not sort the list in that way that it shows all my incomplete lots
within a wanted list.

Go for the sellers with Instant Checkout. This is indicated by a lightning bolt
icon behind the store name. All added charges will be calculated realtime so
at checkout you see exactly what you will pay.
Normal sized orders from the NL to the US typically take 4 days to arrive. From
other countries it may be a bit longer, but anyway, a couple of days faster shipping
may not always outweigh the price difference.

I value predictable shipping prices and fast delivery. I don't know what
to expect when ordering from other countries. This is the biggest problem:
| Seller will calculate S&H fees and send and invoice with the final price for the order.
|
| Items will be reserved for you, and you will be obligated to purchase them.
|
There's no way I'm agreeing to pay an unknown amount of S&H when I don't
know what S&H actually is. I also don't want to send custom messages to sellers
and ask for pricing.
I don't want a hands-on experience in buying. I want an Amazon-like experience
where I know exactly how much and when I'm receiving my order. For this reason,
I always want to see US sellers only.

| Quote system/Cart
Can we get the quote system/cart to be the same as the store cart?
As we all know with the Store cart when an item gets sold or the quantity differs
than you put in your cart, you can adjust the items in your store cart, or delete,
and your store cart is still active, and can remain active until you go through
with the order or empty it completely.
Can we get the quote system/cart to be like the store as well?
Rather than just losing everything in the quote cart when its gets cancelled
by whatever reason, and having to start all over again?

At [My BL] [Settings] [My Order Settings] you can select how to show your order
notes: as icons, on the right or below each line.

May I suggest to also add gram (beside ounce) to your shipping table for international
shipment. Makes it easier if you don't need to use google to get an overview

Hahaha, that is a good suggestion. I forget that not everyone uses "freedom units"
Funny I've never thought of that because I've often had the same frustration

I like this idea.
My store allows for quotes and very few people use it. (Except that one dude
in Korea that keeps asking for quotes and then cancelling, we are on three now
I think lol)
I do get lots of messages from buyers asking for quotes even though I have some
pretty direct shipping tables. So it's obvious they haven't even made
a cart yet.
So all in all I think the quote system is underused or misunderstood by buyers.

You can always use the Contact Store button and inquire about the shipping costs.
|
That doesn't necessarily work. There are light but high volume parts (like
some windscreens), so if you tell the seller the weight it can be misleading.
Then there are the sellers that have a shipping table based on weight, but refuse
to allow buyers to see the weight of a cart.
I'd like to see a "allows quotes" icon, or better still force all sellers
to allow quotes (better) or order cancellations (worse).

Part of what you suggest exists: Stores with a thunderbolt icon have instant
checkout, which means that you see the grand total before you order. There isn't
an icon to distinguish quote sellers from non-quote sellers, however. But even
if there would be such an icon, I'm not sure it would do sellers justice,
as a non quote seller may have a very clear table of shipping costs, which could
be just as good or better than asking a quote.
|
I disagree and think it is a valid request to include an icon so shoppers know
they can get a quote from that store immediately instead of having to look for
it or go through the check-out phase.
Using IC is impossible to hit on every scenario and even sometimes the IC may
work, but a buyer still wants to use the Quote system because maybe the IC is
charging too much. There is nothing wrong with a buyer double-checking to see
if their order actually fits in a cheaper shipping option than what IC is calculating.
|
Those are problems of IC.. but a relevant point because it makes the thunderbolt
misleading. Maybe the system should be made such that if an order doesn't
qualify for IC, the seller by definition has to quote.
My IC works properly: It works on every order and the calculations are correct.
It is always possible to make IC work (if nothing else, you could even charge
1 rate for all orders, after all). But I agree it is not always desirable, for
those sellers who have very significant and unpredictable shipping charge fluctuations
because of a complicated postal service. I expect most of them will have no obligations
against quoting, so an obligatory quote alternative should be ok.. that way,
the thunderbolt is not misleading.
