It's probably a lot of catalog work to break sets into separate components,
but I see a huge advantage: It would solve the pricing problem with "incomplete"
sets. Currently people are listing sets for half of its value because minifigs
or other major parts of the set are missing. That messes up the priceguide completely
and is the main reason why I have abandoned selling sets completely.

That shouldn't affect the prices of sets sold as complete so there is no
reason to stop selling those. But yes, incomplete sets can be anything from almost
complete to a few bricks. But it means sellers must use common sense when pricing
them.

But isn't there only one single entry for used sets in the price guide, regardless
of completeness?

They aren't getting added or approved anymore, except in special circumstances.
A SWAT van won't qualify.

I agree with the suggestion. I'd like to see any vehicle that someone submitted
get approved and inventoried and added to the set inventory. But I think the
ones that were added didn't sell really well or for more than their parts,
so Bricklink didn't see it as worth the time.

I would like to suggest something today.

First of all I apologize for my poor English grammar, please understand.

This is what I would suggest this time.

"I wish there was function to view information of just part product from the
set, Not whole set. And function to order those just part product."

For example,
1. I want to get only police swat van from set 60008 Museum Break-in.(don't
need any part like figs or Museum)
2. But there is only brick information for whole set(Unnecessary a lot of information
confuses me)
3. It takes a lot of hard work to analyze for only just the swat van.
4. And It's very hard to order each part brick for the van

What I mean is that I wish there was a function to view a only part product(just
swat van of set 60008)and I wish I would order those part in way "easy buy".

I know that the "east buy" function already exists.
It's very helpful for restorers.
But now, It adjust only set product or MOC product as I know.

So, I wish the "easy buy" function is more enhanced(add part product from set)

I hope you guys understand my words.
reply me, thanks.
Best regard,

This already exists, for some sets, via special assemblies.

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catString=961

But still, someone has to go through the manual working out what parts are needed
for each assembly.

Why couldn't I find it, special assembly??
And very thanks for the link and new world!!
have a nice day!!

It doesn't work at all well at the moment. You have to know one exists to
find it. Or you can look through the inventory of every set, and right down the
bottom under counterparts you will find the assembly(ies) if it(they) exists.

Or browse https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catID=961

Must the item be in hand for it to be added and inventoried?

If for starters there would be a separate entry for sets without the minifigs,
and an entry for the minifigs, that'd already help.

Maybe this would have drawbacks of its own, not sure if it's a good idea
but I'm just thinking out loud...

That's why I suggest !!

I think My idea is good for seller who sell incomplete set and good for buyer
who want to collect for just part product from set.

Anyway, thanks for your agree

The first is folks sending messages directly to my PayPal and BrickLink notifications
email address. Which I don’t check on a regular basis.

Wouldn’t it be better all round if the user email address were hidden? therefore
emails would have to go thru the message system.

Leads to the second. BrickLink notifications are often delayed by two or three
days, then they all come thru together. Which is why I don’t check that mail
box often. Fairly frequently I receive the order placed notification AFTER I
have shipped the order!

I check messages on site, every morning when I first log on.

Also would benefit BrickLink as it would be far more difficult to trade off site,
if anyone were so inclined.

Please give this some consideration, it works well on the other place.

Thanks, Graham

  Hello Jaclyn,

one year ago BL changed a wanted list key feature. Are you and the developers
even aware of it?

When clicking on "Wanted List" after entering a store, BL shows me the items
this store offers which are on my wanted list. Before the update, the list only
contained the items from my wanted list which were priced below my max prices.

This changed with the update of the store fronts: Now always *all* items are
being shown. The only difference is, that the "Max price:" information of items
with prices higher than my max prices is being shown in red letters.

Too much information! I do not want to scroll through the bigger part of my wanted
list every time, I simply want to know quickly which items from my wanted list
are available for a good price in a specific store... no chance. I have not used
my wanted list for a year now.

Kind regards,

Matthias

I agree, I had forgotten about this. I think its part of the store display,
not the wanted list functions, but I agree. It is a huge pain to see unfiltered
wanted list matches in each store. Please add the filter options back!
1. Store price
2. Store quantity = wanted list min quantity
3. Both price and quantity match.

Thanks!

Has this issued been sorted out? Or are there any tweaks?

When inside a store, is there way to see only the items on my wanted list *below*
my max price?

Thank you.

Hi!

As you're a seller, you can use "Stockrooms" here on bricklink. By default
there is only one Stockroom, but you can enable 3 Stockrooms in the settings
(A, B and C). You could use one of them for your personal collection for example
- that would be the easiest solution without any additional program or website.

Kind regards,
Michael

would be handy if I could limit that to a country or to a specific user.

Is it not easier to invoice manually for such situations.

Possibly. I used to get a lot of international orders made and then cancelled
because the shipping is over $20 over 8 ounces. Usually customers are willing
to pay the $13ish shipping for 1-8 oz, but rarely did an order over 9 ounces
go through. I so stopped offering wait for invoice for international orders
and capped the instant checkout at 7 ounces. Perhaps that is too strict and
I should think it over.

Yeah, I'm sure. I've stopped buying from the USA for that reason.

Maybe put a line in your terms about what it will cost for international orders
for a couple of weight bands and turn on quotes (if you haven't already)
to allow international buyers to ask for postage costs if they need to.

Is it possible to customize or change the thumbnail size when searching in the
catalog? I'm not sure if it's a setting I missed, but it would be useful
to when you're overlooking an entire line to find something specific.

The current Have feature is useless. It's the same as Want.
Easier is to create an Ordered Wantlist and move the items there until they're
received.

I actually find the "Have" feature to be very useful, though I would like an
"Ordeded/Purchased" feature too; I've purchased loads of parts multiple times
accidentally, as I'd forgotten I had already ordered them and didn't
check through my current orders properly. If I could mark wanted parts as "Ordered"
it would save me time. money and storage space.

That's exactly what the Have feature was supposed to do, but it doesn't
subtract anything from Want.

It does though. If you look in your Wanted list it clearly shows how many you
Want and how many you Have in hand. Now go to a store and select Wanted List
it shows sjhows your Wanted Qty (which is original Wanted minus Have).

As for Have - I don't want it

I just checked and it still doesn't subtract Have from original Want.
Usually I don't want to search for the original Want quantity but for new
Want quantity.

But I can not sort the list in that way that it shows all my incomplete lots
within a wanted list.

You might be blocking out a huge part of Bricklink that could have just what you are looking for.

I value predictable shipping prices and fast delivery. I don't know what
to expect when ordering from other countries.

Go for the sellers with Instant Checkout. This is indicated by a lightning bolt
icon behind the store name. All added charges will be calculated realtime so
at checkout you see exactly what you will pay.

Normal sized orders from the NL to the US typically take 4 days to arrive. From
other countries it may be a bit longer, but anyway, a couple of days faster shipping
may not always outweigh the price difference.

  Hello

Would it be possible to implement a new sort by-option in the Wanted List?
What I would like to see is "Missing" what would be the difference between "Wanted"
and "Have".

Cheers
Greg
