Hi All,

Maybe a stupid question, but why is the order details on the site the weight
of all items (so Lot weight x items ordered) and if you download it, the weight
of 1 unique lot.

Second, is it possible to have the total estimated weight per order on the Download,
like it's shown online in the order?

This because I like to see/calculate the average price/kg and the average price/piece
for my orders.

What do these numbers refer to?
Apologies if this has been asked before - I cannot find a thread.
Thanking you all

If I remember correctly, around 1985.

You remember correctly but the roof 4509 coming with sets 7755 and 7727 in 1983
had part number since its earliest production.

Some old baseplates from 60s or 70s had also part number.

The one or two digit numbers indicate molds and mold cavities in the actual machine
that creates the parts from liquid plastic injection. As far as what year TLC
started putting part numbers on the parts themselves, I'm afraid I do not
know.

David

Part number such as 3001 for a 2x4 brick ? Certainly the older CA parts had that,
so it must have been in the earliest days.

Nita Rae

The CA parts did have mold numbers (5 04) but not the part number (3176)

Thank you all for your replies. I am now going to pose another question - What
are 'CA' parts? Sorry to be so thick.
Linda

Cellulose Acetate plastic, which LEGO phased out in 1963.

Thank you very much. Everyday I learn something new from the forum.

Set No: 6273 Name: Rock Island Refuge

6273-1 (Inv) Rock Island Refuge
349 Parts, 7 Minifigures, 1991
Sets: Pirates: Pirates I

* Change 1 Part Brown {4738a Container, Treasure Chest Bottom - Slots in Back to 4738b Container, Treasure Chest Bottom - No Slots in Back}
* Change 1 Part Brown {4739a Container, Treasure Chest Lid - Thick Hinge to 4739b Container, Treasure Chest Lid - Thin Hinge}
* Change 1 Part Brown {4738ac01 Container, Treasure Chest Bottom - Slots in Back with Same Color Container, Treasure Chest Lid - Thick Hinge (4738a / 4739a) to 4738bc01 Container, Treasure Chest Bottom - No Slots in Back with Same Color Container, Treasure Chest Lid - Thin Hinge (4738b / 4739b)} (Counterpart)

Comments from Submitter:
My set actually contains the old style (B) treasure chest with no back slots and thin hinge. Confirmed by actual inventory and product photos on box/instructions. (Are there alternate versions?)

Hi,

I am very sure that this set came with the "a" variant for two reasons:

1. Set 6273 was produced between 1991 and 1993. Set 6260 was produced between
1989 and 1991 and that set already had the "a" variant (link below).
2. A few years ago, the user 1977_mauro changed the inventory of 6273 and many
other old sets based on sealed set contents (he added extra parts or string lenghts,
for example). As we can see, he has not changed the treasure chest in the inventory
of set 6273 but he has changed it in other inventories. I am sure he would have
also changed it here if he had found the "b" type in his copy.

All in all, the "a" type should stay here but the "b" type can be added as an
alternate if you confirm that you have found it in a sealed set.

Regards,
Jonas

Hello,

thank you very much for your reply. This is very interesting!

I own the entire collection for Pirates I up until 1991 and I got them right
when they came out (all new from sealed boxes). All treasure chests are there
and none of them is the A-type, all are the old B-Type (including set 6260 from
1989).
The picture on the box also shows the B-type (see attachment).

So I guess there really must be alternates for all of these sets.

Kind regards
