This mask is actually a LEGO color known as "Red Flip/Flop" and was only used
for the two Bionicle masks shown in
https://www.flickr.com/photos/126975831@N07/15123159082/
The LEGO color "Red Flip/Flop" does not have a specific color on BrickLink and
is lumped under "Copper" since there is no other color close to it.

Correct.
BrickLink's copper combines several different copper-like colors.
It combines LEGO colors 139 Copper, 189 Reddish Gold, 176 Red Flip/Flop (for
Bionicle mask 32573 and 32572), 178 Yellow Flip/Flop (for Bionicle Kanohi mask),
346 Copper Metallic, 300 Copper, Drum Lacquered matte copper surface coating,
334 Copper ink (another surface coating).

I'm sure that is copper. If you look at the "known colors" for that part
the only one that is even close is copper. I'm sure it's just a different
batch or age.
