message:

Please make it possible to reply to the NEWS section without this error.
Possible solutions include:
- allow replies in the NEWS section,
- select one topic by default (instead of asking users to pick one at random,
usually Announce and/or Administrative are used)

They seem to be so common in different lots that I would be surprised if they
were all custom made from larger baseplates by the users.

I found a 2006 set review that describes: " You just get an assortment of Gold, Silver, and Black spheres. There is three of each, with a random fourth sphere added in. "
This confirms what I see in all other online images of set 8719. The inventory is not completely random. The contents contains 10 spheres in pearl gold, pearl dark gray and pearl
light gray. Each of the colors is available at least 3 times, and only the color of the 10th ball is random.

The use of Maersk blue 3001old in some of the sets has been reported several times, but the information was never complete.
Gary Istok recently posted the complete story on the Brickset forum:

Quote: "In 2006... TLG was producing the 2006 Maersk Line Ship set... and something happened. The factory was running low on Maersk blue 2x4 bricks as they were nearing the end of the production run. Rather than produce another batch of bricks, many of which would sit around in inventory for years, TLG asked the model shops if they had any Maersk blue 2x4 bricks... so they could finish the production run. Well one of the older model shops (not sure which one)... did have a supply of the 2x4 bricks in their inventory in that color, so they shipped them to be included in the last of the 2006 10152 Maersk ship sets.
What no one at TLG knew (or didn't care about)... was that these model shop versions of the Maersk blue 2x4 bricks in the late 10152 sets... were 3001old bricks... namely they didn't have cross supports attaching the tubes underneath to the sidewalls. This 3001old brick in Maersk blue was likely produced in the early 1980s for some model shop glued display models... and never found in any LEGO set... Maersk or otherwise... until the end of the 2006 run of the 10152."
Could we add a note to the inventory explaining this odd event? Something like "In late production sets LEGO used the leftover supply of 3001old from one of the model shops."

| When shopping using the auto-finder, the result shows a percentage indicating
how much the part is cheaper or more expensive than some unknown average.
Since the exact calculation is unknown, this value is without meaning. We do
not know if it compares to averages sold or offered for sale, nor if those
averages simply take the max/min values of the quantity average. Also, there
are indications that the price calculated when the item condition (used/new)
is set to "all", or if the color is set to "any" that some average between all
those is calculated.
In my opinion, this is VERY misleading.
For example, there are very good reasons why a 30 year old new part is much more
expensive than a used one, or why a MISB set is more expensive than an incomplete
used one, or why a part in a very rare color is more expensive than the same
part in a common color. Comparing these as if they were the same item is wrong.
It will show genuinely valuable items as being overpriced, and common used items
as discounted. This is very unfair to the sellers that bring unique and rare
items to BrickLink. As a buyer, without fair comparison the value shown is meaningless
but that knowledge will be restricted to experienced buyers only. Inexperienced
buyers might feel misguided, cheated and/or scammed. We should not want that.
In making the price comparison the part should be compared to parts that are
actually the same. This means they should have an identical part number (including
version), condition (used/new, complete/incomplete/MISB/etc) and color. The calculation
should also use the quantity average because otherwise the calculation can de
be easily manipulated by listing a single item with a very high price. Finally,
by preference the prices of items sold should be used. Those are a much better
indication of what buyers are actually willing to pay and the actual value of
the item, and also it reduces the effect of items that are priced extremely high
or incorrectly (typing errors, new users testing their store, etc).
Please update the calculation where needed,
and provide a description of the formula in the help files.

| Currently, when I search parts from my wanted list using the Autofinder it includes
stores that I have marked as Least Favourite in the result (without any warning).
The stores marked Least Favourite should be excluded from the search by default.
Currently, I have tried to block those stores by using:

These settings apparently do not help to avoid these stores any longer.

| ALL signs as before should be visible in stores without hovering, clicking etc.
- Coupons in store.
- Orders in store.
- Note on member in store.
- Store is most favorite
- Store is least favorite
Several of these signs work as a warning. For example, the visible Note on member
icon informed me that I made a note about that member, which I should read before
even thinking
about ordering. In most cases, a note is not a good sign. They warn me about
bad experiences in the past. They are one of the few tools I have to protect
myself. The same is true for the Least Favourite stores. Not having these signs
available as warning signals does make me feel LESS SAFE as a buyer.
The number of orders in store (including link to non-purged orders) and the most
favourite help me to evaluate past experiences with this seller. In most cases,
it helps to build confidence, making me feel safer as a buyer.
Having the coupon visible before checkout usually makes me buy more, in order
to gain maximal benefits of that coupon. It stimulates sales. In most cases that
is one of the reasons why the coupon was issued in the first place. It makes

Buying and selling over long distance requires a lot of confidence between buyer
and seller. Having these features directly available (NOT hidden) is a great
tool to help build that confidence. Hiding them reduces confidence.

| On http://www.bricklink.com/messageFilter.asp the quoted text font size is currently
set to "Smaller Font" by default. Please set the default to "Larger Font".
The larger (normal) font, which also uses different colors for the quoted text,
is much easier to read.

| Currently, we are able to filter by "year released". The result gives all the
parts that were first released in the selected year. I would prefer to be able
to sort for all parts that were released before/in/after the selected
year. For example, I would love to see all parts released before 1963, after
2014 or in 2016.
I think that adding these new options to the search would make that a much more
powerful search tool.

| Please bring back the date and time at the bottom of the page.
Whenever a time is mentioned on BrickLink, I check that clock to show me the
"BrickLink time". I need a method to verify that time because I am in a completely
different time zone. Having this reference makes it easy to determine what an
announcement will mean to me. Without that reference, for example, it will be
a guess when an announcement about maintenance will affect me.

| Suggestion: Provide Admin support 24/7.
I think it is pretty clear to many users that BrickLink needs Admin support 24/7.
I even suspect that most users (both buyers and sellers) already expect service
24/7. We just had stores being closed automatically after an error due to maintenance,
we have seen hackers and scammers, and there are many other (major and minor)
problems being reported. For the major issue today, it took several hours (a
full working day in my timezone!) for the first initial Admin response.
In my opinion, the current Admin team is doing a good job, but we cannot expect
a few people to be available full time for all of us. There are many ways to
solve this problem, but we do not know if they are being considered by the people
who are actually in charge. Also, there is no way to ask for more support by
other methods than complaining to the current Admins.
Maybe a public discussion or a gathering of votes for this suggestion can demonstrate
that this is a serious problem that urgently needs a solution.
