Hi Cat Admins.

I have in my possession, 2 Duplo Horses which are not in the catalogue, but they
are clearly marked as LEGO.

1 is a black one, essentially the same as this:-

Part No: horse02c01pb01 Name: Duplo Horse with Movable Head with Silver Mane, Saddle, and Hearts Pattern
*
horse02c01pb01 Duplo Horse with Movable Head with Silver Mane, Saddle, and Hearts Pattern
Parts: DUPLO, Animal

but has no hearts on it's left flank.

The second is a white one, with no extra markings except around the eye, which
are eyelashes, making the horse look quite feminine(?)

I have no idea as to what sets they would have come in, but looking at the listings
of this type of horse, we have the one with the hearts on it's flank, in
Black, and White, and the white one has a 'saddle' print which is not
the same as the Black one, so maybe a separate listing needs to be done for that
one?

I'll see if I can produce images for these two, but be aware that I can't
get them to be re-sized enough to be used, as I'm not computer savvy enough
for that.

Can anyone verify what I'm saying?

Paul

OK Jangbricks video review confirms your findings
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEfzS34MrB0 time 3:58

I didn't look at the set review, but I can confirm that the set was sealed
when I parted it out.

I sold the older version of that part a couple of days ago, and when I went to
find it, I had the newer version.

Which is why I said that I'd 'worked it out', because I didn't
have that part new within my inventory, and the only set that it came from was
the one I'd parted out.

But, anyway, you've just confirmed it, and I was able to get the correct
version from my unbuilt UCS Slave one, to ensure that my customer got the correct
version.

Paul

They are already in the catalogue.

Look in the instructions category of the set, and you will see that the last
image is showing the 'tall' booklet.

Just make a note when you list them, stating that they are of the tall type?

It is not new. All the studs on the top are whitish and not 100% blue. It looks
strange. I am not sure if this is faded or not. If it is faded, it is faded in
a consistent way.
Let me know if you have or had this baseplate in the past and how you find mine
( it has dust on it but that is not an issue)

I would say it is sun damage.

Lisa

Not sun damage.

If that was the case, then the blue should be of a darker hue or in the worst
case, lighter.

This is very similar to wear and print rub off the studs.

If one looks, you have to agree that the actual baseplate is White, and the Blue
is the print...

Have you thought about using 1 x 1 tiles instead? They're plentiful in both

I've not thought about that, because I'm not sure if they would stand

It's a thought....

I'll look into this.

Hi Guys,

I'm really cheesed off right now, as I decided to dip my toe into the frustrating
world of BL's Mosaik designer, to re-create a picture of my recently passed
away dog.

The reason I'm cheesed off?

The Mosaik programme calculated that I need to have 559 1x1 plates in Sand Blue...

We used to fight over the 1x1 plates in Sand Green to complete the Statue of
Liberty and Yoda sets which in turn really pushed the prices of them up, and
then Lo and Behold, LEGO comes out with the Brickheadz Owen and Blue set, which
is now going to lower the prices... (need 288 of them as well... )

But with the 'unofficial' policy of old colours getting re-made (Dark
Turquoise comes to mind), I wonder if LEGO will actually re-release the 1x1 plate
in Sand Blue?

Ah well, rant/grumble over, I'm seriously debating of whether I could get
away by cutting a 1x2 plate in half?

Regards,

Paul

Be aware that the 'Brittle Blue' isn't an official LEGO or BrickLink
colour, but is a colour that has been noticed to have occured in the turn of
the century 2000-2003, and the composition of the plastic that this blue is in
is actually more 'Brittle' than the normal plastic, hence the name.

I have actually seen this colour across quite a few elements, including the 2x4
brick.

Earlier this year I was searching for this colour in a 2x4 for my palette, and
had to buy one from an European Seller, and when it arrived, I was so chuffed....

BUT....

Last week, I found one in a Bulk Lot of LEGO that I'd bought in February,
so I could have saved myself some money.... !

Ah well....

  Please put it back.
It was the perfect word to describe where it took users.

I came to BrickLink for the catalog first, and started to buy later.

The catalog is not just a tool we use for selling, it is a hugely important way
to draw people to the site. I know that it has been gone for a long time, but
I would still love to have a separate catalog tab back.

I totally agree.....

BUT....

If according to the BL developers and admins, us sellers are supposed to be getting
new 'tools' and features to help us with our selling, I'm not sure
if there is any thing like this in the pipeline, so I guess it's a situation
of where we will need to wait and see...

However, saying that, I'd love to see an additional line within that drop
down box when I hover over the Market Tab, and that is to have 'Instructions'

I'm really fed up of having to input a set's number into the search bar
so that I can get to the instructions section.

Apart from that, I'm now used to going to the 'market' tab to get
to the parts section of the catalogue...

Just my 2p on this....

I've got 2 of the sets that this minifig comes from, and both were sealed, and I found that this propellor is actually in the newer colour of Flat Silver more than Pearl Light Grey, hence this change request. (I can't change the set's inventory to reflect this as well)

Here's the thing with PLG/flat silver parts: the catalog's really a mess
right now regarding those colors. It needs to be fixed, but right now the issue
is on hold. Sorry, but we're not going to be changing any PLG to flat silver
or flat silver to PLG for the time being.

OK

Then why not find out WHEN the newer style of Flat Silver that the LEGO group
uses first came in, and then state that all of the sets from THAT time will have
that style colour, so that we shall know WHICH colour is correct for a particular
part?

It's well known that there are 2 distinct colours for the Flat silver that
we are aware of, and it can be done in the same way as the Light Grey/Light Bluish
Grey saga came about over 10 years ago....

How can it not be resolved?

When anyone looks in a store, and selects a certain part, there is in small grey
letters, showing the date that particular item was added to the store's inventory,
but as I have selected the option of having the particular item(s) 'retained'
within my inventory after it has been sold out, I would like to have this feature
removed as it makes it look as if a store is not adding any recent stock, which
is not entirely accurate.

Regards,

Any further news upon this issue?

I'm really surprised that this is still here, but surely it can be tweaked
to include the date of the newer additions of the parts have been added to a
store's inventory?

OK great

I've cancelled the original inventory as I couldn't add the newly added
parts from the catalogue, and the newer inventory is now submitted for approval.

The descriptions are adequate I think, but hopefully someone can submit split
images for the yellow 'face' elements, as this will be better than the
ones supplied by LEGO.COM

If this can be approved, it will be great as this means I'll be able to part
out the 2 sets that I have.

Thanks!

Paul

Ok thanks for message, will check it in just a moment

I've also added the correct colour image for the Dark Azure 2x3x2 curved
side brick, as it's a new colour for that part.

Cheers!

Paul

Perfect Checked and approved. Thank you very much for submiting this invenotry.
So maybe you submit more in the future

I have to say, thank you for approving this quickly as those 2 sets had been
bugging me for a while since I bought them to plunder the 2x4 Blue plates!

I think it's possible that I'll be doing more Duplo sets as I've
decided to get out of doing USED duplo as I have loads of vehicle elements that
I can't shift, and with all of the other parts that I have, they are just
taking up so much space that I could use for the normal LEGO elements.

Another reason why I'm getting out of the USED Duplo, is that there are more
and more Chinese Clones turning up at the car boot sales, so it will be really
hard to garner a decent return...

So, it depends upon whether I manage to see NEW Duplo at reduced prices or not.

Thanks, once again for the speedy approval of that set.

Regards,

Paul

Not exactly They are still wrong

Can you see where I went wrong with the 2x4x2 bricks with rounded ends?

Regards,

Paul

All decorated parts have their own entry with the same number as the main part
plus pb and following number in the numbering system of them in Bricklink.
So look at 4198 as an example, you have four new decotared version of this part.
Type in search 4198pb* (with asterisk), sort by "item number" and "down", result:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogListOld.asp?pg=1&q=4198pb%2A&catLike=W&itemBrand=1000&v=1
See all decoreted have their own separate entry. So you must now crate whole
new entry for four your parts. Thanks to this searching you see the next free
number will be
4198pb31. So crate 4 parts 4198pb with following numbers 4198pb31, 4198pb32,
4198pb33, 4198pb34, describe them in name - add in name what is their pattern.
You can see also in this search how other are named, you can create somthing
similar. But in name for this part there always must be "Duplo, Brick 2 x 4
x 2 Rounded Ends ... Pattern" for "..." you enter your description of pattern.
Then add photos for such crated parts.
Now repeat this for all your new decorated bricks: 31110, 3011, 98223, 31111.
Create new entries with "pb".

Marek

I actually saw where I went wrong.

I'd listed the images before I'd changed the numbers of the parts, and
this accepted the images which was wrong as the part(s) were already in the catalogue!

I think I've done it correctly now, and all it need is for the naming of
the parts to be tidied up.

I've also added the dimensions of the set, and if the parts can be approved,
I can add them to the inventory.

Regards,

Paul

It doesn't matter how "right" you do it, so don't worry about that too
much. The catalog administrators can fix things like part numbers and titles.
You do need to add images, though.

Having said that, formatting your submissions correctly will greatly speed up
the process of approval. Here's a brief tutorial using one of the parts
you've submitted:

[P=6217957]

First thing: that 7-digit number is called a Part Color Code or PCC. These are
unique codes assigned by TLG which identify a particular part in a specific color.
A part in white, for example may have the PCC 6135522, but the same part in
black has the PCC 6001664. These numbers are not used as item numbers, but are
added as PCCs with a catalog change request after item approval.

To create the correct part number for your pending part, you need to find out
which item number is available. To do that, search for the part number with
an asterisk added. In this case, the part number is 98223, so search for 98223*.
You should see this:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogListOld.asp?searchMethod=searchBoth&q=98223*&itemBrand=1000&catType=&itemYear=&catID=&catLike=W

Then sort your results by Item Number and Down. This will reveal that the most
recently used part number was 98223pb014. Therefore, this pending part will
be numbered 98223pb015 when it is approved.

There is good news, though. You can edit your pending submissions by going to
your My Activity page and looking for pending items. There you can change titles,
categories, part numbers, etc.

Is finding the appropriate item number too much work? Yes. Ideally you should
be able to enter the part number and the system could simply assign the next
patterned number. Ideally there would also be less poverty in the world. We
must work with what we have.

Second thing: all titles should be submitted as you would want to see them in
the catalog. For this pending part it means capitalizing the last three words
(Crossed Arms Pattern).

You've got the weight and dimensions added, so I think that otherwise you're
good on this one once you add an image. The same issues exist with your other
pending submissions, like the title for this part:

[P=6217961]

Like I say, though, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Your submissions
should be approved, it will just take longer because of the extra work which
must go into spiffing them up to be official catalog entries.

Thank you, by the way, for taking the time to inventory this set. Duplo is one
of the neglected themes for which sets can go years without ever seeing an inventory.

Well, how can I submit images when they are already available as I saw when I
first put the set's number into the correct box?

Why can't the system take copies of those images and match them to the part?

I'm guessing that I'll need to change the part numbers from the LEGO
code to the BrickLink ones?

more work....

Lol

The images can be added from there, but you'll need to do it yourself. People
do it all the time for Duplo parts:

Part No: 3664pb32 Name: Duplo, Brick 2 x 2 x 2 Slope Curved Double with Clock Hands 4:57 Pattern

3664pb32 Duplo, Brick 2 x 2 x 2 Slope Curved Double with Clock Hands 4:57 Pattern

Part No: 35734 Name: Duplo, Train Cabin Roof 4 x 4
*
35734 Duplo, Train Cabin Roof 4 x 4
Parts: DUPLO, Train

Part No: 36075pb01 Name: Duplo, Train Steam Engine Cabin 4 x 8 x 3 1/2 with Yellow No. 925 Pattern
*
36075pb01 Duplo, Train Steam Engine Cabin 4 x 8 x 3 1/2 with Yellow No. 925 Pattern
Parts: DUPLO, Train

Right, I've submitted the inventory of the set, and the additional printed
parts have now been added to the catalogue, using the codes found on the set
box's inventory.

I hope that I've done it right(???)

You want to inventory Duplo set yes?
I've see that you submited to the catalog already 8 inventories. Submiting
of inventories isn't change so much from time when you last submited. Now
it is easer than ever.
Submit incomplete inventory it will be pending. I think you using autofill opition.
When you submit inventory of the set and it don't have all parts necessary
in the catalog but they are listed in LEGO inventory, they are marked red, delete
them from the form to go further. Then add the missing parts to the catalog,
after they approval, add them to the inventory which will be pending. After you
complete inventory and will be OK, We will approve it Then this set will
be available to part out.
I checked you credits and I see you also submited parts and photos to the catalog
so you should be familiar with the process.

regards,

Marek

I understand how the process works, but I'm always struggled with being able
to create suitable images of the 'missing' parts that need to be added
to the catalogue, which is why I was asking if the process can/had been made
simpler as the information is available already.

8 times out if 10, the images that I supply are too big, and I need to cut/crop
the image to get it small enough to be useful, which I think is too much of a
lengthy process, where the information is already available, so why can't
it be added directly from LEGO.com?

I hope you can understand why I'm asking in this regard.

Yours,

Paul

  Hello all.

I'm stumped with 3 colours from a batch of duplo I got yesterday.

The 2 2x2 (same colour) I think are medium violet
The 2x2 and 2x4 (same colour) I think are violet

The single 2x2 I think is light turquoise

I'm asking for help as these colours are rare and I don't want to list
until I'm sure.

Unfortunately I don't have any of these colours in stock or my collection
so I cannot confirm myself.

Thanks in advance
David

I think you have got the colours right.....

Use BL's colour guide to help you, as I can often cross match colours within
bulk lots with known colours with sets and the like.

Why not create a small colour palette using standard 2x2 bricks (they have the
most colours), and use the official BL colour guide to determine those colours?

I've done the same using 2x4's as I have approx 92 different colours
as 48 of them are 'test bricks' and the like...

Please make changes to the following inventory:

Set No: 7496 Name: Stretchy at Work
*
7496-1 (Inv) Stretchy at Work
11 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 2004
Sets: Explore: Little Robots: DUPLO

* Delete 1 Part 45125 Pearl Dark Gray Duplo Pincers with Clip
* Add 1 Part 45125 Dark Bluish Gray Duplo Pincers with Clip

Comments from Submitter:
I have in my possession elements that make up this set, and the part in question is not PDG, but because of the rough effect of the arms of the grabber, it makes it look like PDG, but the colour is actually DBG
The Peeron site classifies this part being Dark Stone, which is indeed DBG, hence this change request

I think all sellers should be required to ship their orders in corrugated cardboard
boxes. I recently received an order of 24 NEW

Part No: 59349 Name: Panel 1 x 6 x 5
*
59349 Panel 1 x 6 x 5
Parts: Panel

from a 5000+ feedback seller. All 24 of them were thrown into a Ziploc baggie
and that baggie was crammed, along with the other lots in the order, into a flimsy
bubble mailer. Well, you can imagine what the surfaces of those panels looked
like after be squished and tossed from conveyor belt to conveyor belt as they
made their way across the country before being shoved into my mailbox. If they
had been shipped in a cardboard box they wouldn't have received nearly that
amount of abuse.

Therefore I suggest we force all sellers to ship orders in cardboard boxes.
Some orders, such as one or two figs, would probably be fine in a bubble mailer,
but rules are rules and we must enforce them uniformly and without mercy. We
must protect the entire community from the few sloppy sellers that are out there.

If a buyer receives an order that is not in a cardboard box, he must send a picture
of the package (with mailing label visible) to Admin. Once Admin approves the
picture, the seller will receive a non-negotiable negative feedback. If three
such feedback are received then selling privileges are revoked.

I ship 99% of my orders in a box already, so I don't see why this would be
such a big deal.

(yes, I'm making a point but I'm not making up my experience or my store
practices)

I am a very experienced seller as well as a buyer, and I have voted NO.

Why?

Because if I were to start to ship my orders within boxes (PIP Boxes for the
UK), the minimum buy I'd have to increase within my store, which would reduce
my orders to possibly 2-4 a week, and I'd have to start charging my buyers
for the boxes, and they are not cheap.

I use bubble mailers for approx 95% of my orders, and not once have I had anyone
complain about how the order was packaged.

The issue you have is actually down to the seller, and there is no way BL should
be involved within this situation, because BL is just a platform/website which
allows sellers to operate a shop.

There is a potential solution that could eliminate the chance of that from happening
again, and that is for BL to have a 'guideline' page , with various methods
of shipping/packaging solutions that will ensure that items will get delivered
safely.

Good luck with trying to get this resolved with the Seller, and please let us
know of the outcome.

Yours,

Paul

Hi,

Is it possible to have a check box within the quotes page to allow us sellers
to remove quotes that have been cancelled/accepted?

I can see the future scenario of where sellers will have multiple pages of quotes
and none of them will be relevant...

LEGO logo present on the studs, or even down to the seals on the packaging.

Yes, there are cases of sets being re-produced by the other CLONE brands (LEPIN),
but even they don't have the LEGO logo on the studs...

Which is why I suspect that you have been mis-led about the YouTube videos of
the box seals etc, purely due to the fact that the LEGO group has so many factories
around the world, all contributing to the production of the LEGO that we all
love.

Yes, there are cases of the slight differences between bricks/parts, which are
either production changes (Modified plates come to mind here), or are actual
quality control issues.

LEGO produced these days are of a slightly lighter/softer feel than those produced
10-40 years ago, again, a change done by the LEGO group, because they changed
the way that the plastic is used within the production of the LEGO parts...

I do believe that the Star Wars set that you have IS a genuine set, but because
you are probably remembering how LEGO had their sets when you were a kid, your
experience is saying that the LEGO you are now handing is 'inferior',
and therefore 'fake', but is actually the genuine article.....

Regards,

Paul

Agree. I still don't understand the new BL's love for contrasting white
with extremely light gray. This applies to set inventories, part-outs, etc. as
well. It's hard to enough to sell Lego just having to figure out Light Gray,
Light Bluish Gray, Pearl Light Gray, Flat Silver...!

I can see each order without any issues.

Maybe you could change the contrast on your computer screen?

Paul

I cant see the difference in colours on mine either, id actually completely forgot
they were ever alternate colours, having a tiny store it isnt an issue for me
either.

But I will say this much, even though this one doesnt affect me, user changing
the computer screen contrast is inconvenient if the user has their monitor set
up to specific settings for a particular reason as it would have to be changed
back every time the other reason comes into play.

I personally dont see any harm in making lines available, even if its on an optional
toggle on/off basis from store settings, that way BL can very easily help users
out with no extra fuss

G

I'm beginning to think that this issue is actually limited to certain PC's.

I have a HP TouchSmart 300 PC, and the screen is actually a 20inch LCD one...

Colours are bright and are very noticeable...

Maybe having the ability to change the colour bars when on that particular page
will help?

This tracking from left to right that you describe has become a kind of bottleneck
in my otherwise smoothly automated selling routine. It's a potential cause
for mistakes, it's tedious and there's no reason for it to be that way.

I can see each order without any issues.

Maybe you could change the contrast on your computer screen?

I don't agree that a seller should be able to modify a listing date.

Aren’t sellers already able to do that by removing the lot then creating a new
one?

We can, but it takes time, and if I have the sheer amount that I have listed,
then it's a heck of a time consuming thing to do, so it's not feasible.

I do agree that the listing date does not need to be shown on the buyer's
WL data though.

Yes, I don’t see what it could be good for as it adds no information for the
buyer. (The lot may be old but the parts just added, or vice versa.)

Exactly what I am trying to convey, because such a showing of that data does
tend to imply that a part has been 'unsold' within my store since that
date, and I'm not adding more stuff, where in fact I have been.

The data should be updated to show when the listing of the part was 'added
to' with more stock, rather than having new notifications being sent each
time a store's inventory gets 'churned', which doesn't give a
proper level playing field.

(I've not used BrickStock or anything else like it, so for anyone to suggest
that I should do that, doesn't help as it means that more of my time is wasted)

  Paul,

I believe that is for your information. I cannot see how long you have had an
item listed.

Jennifer

It's there, believe me.

Go to your wanted list.

select an item.

visit a store that has that item.

and you will see the date that item was 'added' to the store.

Hi.

Is there any real reason WHY the date is shown when an item is listed within
a stores' inventory?

I've kept the option on when I've sold out of an item, it's retained
within my store's inventory, so that when I add more stuff, I know that of
the 2 listings that I have for that particular item (used and new), the USED
listing is always above the new, ensuring that I don't add used stock to
the NEW listing.

I can't understand why this option is there, but it does seem strange, because
when I'd first listed an item within my inventory 4 years ago, and have since
added more of that kind in the years between then and now, but to a Newbie buyer,
it will give the impression that my NEW stock is 4-6 years old, whereas it could
actually be 2 days old!

Can this feature be given the option of being updateable when new stock is actually
added to the retained listing?

Regards,

Paul

  Hi,
I do not know if this has been posted before, but here is my question:

I am parting out some nice used sets, some of which have stickered parts. As
one can find, when looking up a particular set in the catalog, these stickered
parts are listed down below under counterparts (or something like that).

Wouldn't it be helpful if these stickered counterparts also appeared in the
(parting out) list when parting out USED sets with stickered parts?

It would make parting out so much easier/quicker and you can easily check if
the stickers are applied correctly.

Like to hear your thoughts!

Tanja

I have also posted about this in the past. It would be great to have the option
of adding the stickered parts when parting out. I agree it would be easier and
much quicker.

I too have said this, but I got brushed off, by the Site's admins claiming
that due to not ALL of the sets will have the stickered counterparts added, it
is easier not to allow this to happen.

But surely, once a set HAS been verified (twice) by the set verifiers, this can
be implemented ONLY for the sets that have ALL of the stickered counterparts?

I would love to have this feature implemented, as I am always parting out used
sets, as I can't always be bothered to try and complete a set that is approx
50% complete.

Regards,

Paul

You have to click the Bricklink button on the left to get to the home screen

Also a lot of other items don't work like stoplists.

Just tried the one you mentioned.

Hi all.

Regards,

Paul

If you look at your 'personal' settings, you will see that this had been
disabled, and you will need to adjust it when you are in a seller's shop...

Just be patient!

So, now we have to set this in EVERY store? That's insane. There needs
to be some type of default and then maybe override it at the store level.

-Corey

Aw, please, Just be patient!

This was disabled upon the roll-out, and I'm not really bothered, but why
not use the CLASSIC wanted list instead?
