I didn't think of that, but that's probably it. The holes are a bit unevenly
positioned (maybe 1/10th of a mm, but it's clear by comparison).
Thanks.

Well, I just thought about it some more. If it was a customized brick, what part
was it made from? I can't think of any.
BTW - It has "Pat. pend" in the bottom.

Why not 3709c?

Because 3709c is made from two parts (notice the line in the picture), and it

* Add 1 Part 3626bpb0583 (Not Applicable) Minifig, Head Dual Sided Glasses with Orange Lenses, Smile / Mouth Open Upset Pattern - Blocked Open Stud
Comments from Submitter:
The figure I have comes with this head that has a blocked open stud (alternate item). So there are versions with head 3626bpb0583 and versions with head 3626cpb0583.

| I think it's better to go with the longer length. If it turns out (after
you build the model) that the hose is too long, you can always cut it shorter.

What is the part number printed on your copy of the set instructions? You will
find this on the front page at the lower right-hand corner of the complete set
image. Please post a photo or scan of this portion of the instructions showing
the number.
| My question to ou guys is how can we document this? And is this something that
you guys see all the time with older LEGO sets?
|
It has been documented. The set inventory has been updated with the changes
you found and an inventory note was added. And yes, it's not too terribly
uncommon. There are over 100 known sets from as recently as last year which
have been redesigned for various reasons while the set was still in production.
I have asked for BrickLink to give us the ability to find these sets in the catalog.
So far, though, nothing has happened with my request.

Hi Robert
strange, the '99' only viewable on this page:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=6386-1
on this page I get the '1':
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=6386-1#T=I
the other MID are also different
a glitch?

Interesting looks like in all inventories where "99" MID is used in this new
inventory page is is change to "1" MID. Checked only few from this list
https://brickset.com/sets/list-18333 for example
The same sitation as you described it.

Agreed especially that these early head can vary in pattern, the best example
is:
btw this head
occur in 6 minifigs so it would not only be in sw024
Here is another variant of print for this head
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=978216
So there are more than one variation of print for it

| I'm putting togther a vintage Technic Set 8862 Backhoe. I was about to cut
the hose to length, according to the Bricklink catalog counterparts section,
when I noticed that the lengths of the longer pieces are different in my instuctions.
Why the discrepancy, please? I'm thinking it is better to stick with the
instructions? Thanks.

Plate 4073 in medium lime has alternate in green or lime. So in this set this
part was spotted in three colors in different variants of this set.
