Is the quote function broken? I had a quote come in 5 days ago and I had no notification
or anything regarding it. I only knew because the buyer messaged me last night.
This is not acceptable.

Hi there,

Fortunately, the quote system is working just fine. Even if you did not receive
an email, the quote notification was displayed on your My BL page, on the My
BL hover icon in the navigation bar, and a count of all pending quotes would
have shown when you hovered over the My Store icon as well.

If you didn't receive an email notification about the quote, the email either
got sent to your spam folder or was blocked by your ISP. Please add both "blservice@bricklink.com"
and "noreply@bricklink.com" to your email contacts and safe senders list. We'd
be happy to contact your ISP to request that our domain is unblocked if you would
provide that information.

I see that everything has been worked out with the buyer and that the quote resulted
in an order, which is great!

Also on numerous occasions I've had customers tell me that they cannot checkout
after ironing out potential issues I have found out it's the site, not me.
I've lost money to this and again, this is not acceptable.

I'm sorry to hear that! The error could be caused by several different things,
many of which are seller settings that you would need to adjust yourself. It's
likely that your shipping restrictions need to be adjusted to accommodate sets
and large part assemblies.

Your ability to inventory used Lego is appalling.

Could you please clarify what you mean?

Why not work on this rather
than Brickarms? that's right. Money. If it won't make you money then
you won't bother. This is not acceptable.

Not all business decisions are that straightforward.

Can't it just 'work'? Why is everything difficult and half made?

Despite the countless hours we spend checking things in a test environment, there
are always issues that don't show up we've deployed to the live site.
We stayed in the office testing and checking the forum/helpdesk until 3am after
we deployed Instant Checkout. It's not that we aren't trying.
We are unique in that our site was coded 18 years ago and was untouched for nearly
14 years. The code is VERY fragile. I'm assuming that BO has fewer issues
for several reasons but mainly because Lawrence doesn't have to tinker with
such old/fragile code and also that their user base is significantly lower than
ours.

I'm just frustrated and the quote issue lastnight was the tipping point for
me. Fix your site.

Understandable. We WANT to fix anything that's broken on the site. It would
be super helpful if you could send specific information to the help desk the
next time you encounter a problem. The correct email address is customersupport@bricklink.com.

Exactly. New, you part out and list an entire set all at once. Used, you track
down and list a single piece. Then the next one is the same piece, but you have
to list it differently because you want to note differences in condition and
price them accordingly. The only reason I can figure that people can make any
money at all on Used is they can often get hugely undervalued lots on sites like
Craigslist or by hitting up garage sales. Or, you know, you can price it higher
than New and hope people will buy it without paying attention because "Used is
always less expensive".

I have no idea what you mean by that. The inventories in the catalog are submitted
by users, and they're generally inventoried using new sets, not used.

Replace “to inventory” with “to put in your store’s inventory.”

That definitely changes the meaning, but it still doesn't make sense. Has
there been some change in the way parts are added to a store when they are used?

I understand a lot of people use BrickStock (or similar) but sellers tools are
scarce on BL.

(And tote that I’m a buyer only )
