Alternate part for the head. Both the Blocked Open Stud and Stud Recessed versions were released.

Unfortunately, alternates are not allowed for minifigures. However, the minifigure
has an inventory note and someday this issue will be corrected (someday means
when the minifigure parts can be included in the inventory and figures themselves
are handled as counterparts).

  1) Is there any set in which 3062a and 3062b were simultaneously used?

I have no idea, but it's definitely possible. The Alternate section of the
inventory would cover cases where this occurred.

  2) There is a set from 1981 coming with 3062a, and a set from 1979 coming with
3062b! The early variant was used 2 years after its replacement was released!
Do you know any other part like this?

Yes, this does occur. Older variants can appear in sets for years after newer
variants are released. To see more detailed examples of timelines regarding
variants, please look through these parts:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogRelCat.asp?relID=4

  3) The train 726 is from 726 but I didn't find it any catalog of 1977. It
surprises me this train was released only for one year. You may have more sources.
Could you check this please? (just to let you know that this train was sold in
Europe, except Great Britain)

Sorry, but I don't have any special sources. Brickset has a catalog library
which you might check.

  4) For this 7750, an inventory change request was submitted with photos to add
ONE
4073 Trans-Clear Plate, Round 1 x 1 Straight Side
as extra. After, I got photos of few other sealed/MISB 7750s. In one of them
there were Three
4073 Trans-Clear Plate, Round 1 x 1 Straight Side
extra. What would you do in this case?

It depends on what the set instructions show. Were any of the parts ever used
anywhere in the main or alternate models? Does the set box show an alternate
model in which one of the parts was used? What about the part count printed
on the box or in catalogs?

If the parts were never used anywhere and aren't part of the official part
count, then they're extras no matter how many there were. However, didn't
the parts come on sprues at this time? A count of 3 extras seems off if the
parts came in twos.

Hello,

Your suggestion (SHIPTO-EQ: D) is a good start. I did n't think of that one.
Thank you. I hope BL will make a more appropriate TAG.

  Hello,

Although Bricklink is an America-based website, is serves a worldwide audiance
now.

My store is base in the Netherlands and I modified the emails from Bricklink
(like the invoice etc.). Now people get these bi-lingual. (Dutch and English)
The only way to make them uni-lingual again is by deleting the non-desired language-text.

It might be an idea to extend the 'List of E-Mail Conditional Block Macro
Tags' with a language-tag. When poeple prefer the text in Dutch, they can
get the Dutch-tekst, if the shop-owner provides it.

If this system is implemented, there should also be a default-tag for the text
that is to be used, if the desired language is not specified in the mail.

This will contribute to a better user-experiance.

As a web-developer, I realize that this is not easely implemented. But it might
be an idea to keep in mind for a next version of Bricklink.

With kind regards,
Carel ten Hove
Fricatho

What you need kind of already exists;

SHIPTO-EQ: D

returns true if the buyer is in the same country is you.

However, BL should just add a conditional macro tag that returns true if a buyer's
address appears in a specified list of countries, and another one that returns
false if it does. I bet this should take the BL team about 1 hour at most to
implement. It can be used for language, but also for other purposes - anything
for which location could be relevant. SHIPTO-EQ: D only tests 1 country, and
in our case for example we might like to generate a Dutch text for buyers from
Belgium too, for example.

We could then generate Dutch for SHIPTO-EQ:{The Netherlands,Belgium,Surinam,Aruba,
...} and English for SHIPTO-!EQ:{The Netherlands} so that in the case of Belgium
for example it generates both languages and you can leave it or delete one according
to which city you read in the buyer's address.

I found a 2006 set review that describes: " You just get an assortment of Gold, Silver, and Black spheres. There is three of each, with a random fourth sphere added in. "

This confirms what I see in all other online images of set 8719. The inventory is not completely random. The contents contains 10 spheres in pearl gold, pearl dark gray and pearl light gray. Each of the colors is available at least 3 times, and only the color of the 10th ball is random.

There are several reasons, but the main one is that Glow In Dark Opaque is a
specialty color, and as such, it's the most important color of the two. Now
these parts have a reasonable chance of being found via the color guide instead
of wallowing among 500 parts in Trans-Light Blue:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogListOld.asp?catType=P&colorPart=15&v=3

And photographs don't tell the whole story. In the dark, the blue hues would
definitely take second place.

As for sellers and their choices, one of the things I noticed about the current
listings was a disagreement over the shade of blue. Because of the marbled nature
of the part, there is likely a significant range of color intensity. But like
I mentioned above, I don't think it's good for listings to be split.

If sellers want to give a refined description of the shade of blue in their notes,
that's fine. But to split up the listings means less chance that buyers will
find the part, especially when you consider that the PCC maps only to a single
color.

Russell

As a seller who has some of these pieces I agree.
The glow in dark nature of the piece is what defines it and since the blue is
marbled with glow in dark opaque it is definitely not trans light blue.

are 3062b.

I thought you were offering the photo as proof that the set came with open stud
parts, because that's what the 3062b is.

My conclusion for 7740 was wrong. I tried to say that 3062b was first released
in 1981. Now, I know that this is wrong.

I am going to receive many more photos of 4.5 and 12v trains. Please hold on
this and other train-related requests. I come back to you hopefully soon.
I have few questions:

1) Is there any set in which 3062a and 3062b were simultaneously used?

4) For this 7750, an inventory change request was submitted with photos to add
ONE
4073 Trans-Clear Plate, Round 1 x 1 Straight Side
as extra. After, I got photos of few other sealed/MISB 7750s. In one of them
there were Three
4073 Trans-Clear Plate, Round 1 x 1 Straight Side
extra. What would you do in this case?

We can see the red 3062a.

I'm sorry, but to my eyes that 3rd photo is inconclusive for the red parts.
They could be either solid stud or open stud - it's impossible for me to
tell. The black parts, as you mention, are even worse.

Hi, there!

To add new stickered counterparts to a set you must first add the parts to the
catalogue. You can do that here (please read the instructions first):

https://www.bricklink.com/wantedCatalog.asp

Next, add pictures here:

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogImageAdd.page

An inventory change request may be submitted to add the parts to the set inventory
once they've been added to the catalogue.

I am sure there are lots of sellers who are waiting to see what enhancements
Bricklink as and when the finally release the sellers tools they hafve talked
about..

We would like to see a small modification done now to help on the 'add inventory
screens'. This would take a programmer less than an hour to accomplish and
it would aid most sellers.

When you manually add an item to your inventory you can do it in one of several
ways. When you go this route some things, which are important are missing.

From the main catalogue page for any given part choose Add to my inventory. This
takes you to the add inventory page and fills in some of the details for you
e.g. part no; colour etc, leaving you to add the quantity, price, condition and
any remarks you wish to make. You then click on the review item button at the
bottom and it takes you to the review item page where you do not see all the
relevant information No part no - no remarks. How can you really review the information
if it isn't all presented to review. Good memory? Maybe if you are only doing
the odd one, but if you are using this in anger it would be very helpful if the
review item page had the part no on it as well as the remarks field.

A similar situation occurs with the mass inventory upload. Once you paste your
xml file into the window you choose verify and all the parts in that file are
listed but instead of displaying the part nos for the items it drops them off
despite being in the xml upload.

Again a very minor programming job which would aid the sellers.
