Don't these two links get you what you are asking for? Sorry if I have misunderstood.

The links can indeed get me what I'm after but the point was that I would
find it helpful if I didn't have to use the links and could just go to the
main thread and read the full chain of replies without having to leave the page.
This can be done even now but as I pointed out earlier the replies get clipped
off after they get too long and thus you cannot stay on the main thread to read
everything. Instead, you end up having to go chase down the replies one at a
time to read the whole thing.
In a typical forum, you would click a topic/post to see the original post and
all of its replies. You can then read the entire reply and all that follow it
till the end of the thread. Everything is available on that one page unless paginated
In this forum, you click a topic/post, get to read the original post, and then
get what amounts to a preview of each reply with links that can take you to the
reply so you can read it. Here only part of the thread is available on the main
page and the rest gets secreted away into "reply" pages that you have to go dig
through individually to get the whole picture.
I would just like to see all of the replies made viewable and readable by way
of the primary post/thread similar to how a normal forum would as outlined above
There could still be "reply" pages as they have them now. I just want to see
the character count restriction lifted for the replies on the main thread so
that the full reply is visible instead of the current partial reply with a link.
Hopefully, this makes sense

I disagree. The yellow ones are found at least until 1997 in sets. The b type
is already as alternate part in the inventory.

The high-quality images replace the low-quality images. There is no either/or,
just one image (i.e. no high-quality and low-quality images stored separately).
Therefore, there is only *one* image *per* part *per* color, whether it currently
be low-quality or high-quality. If the code sees a color image for a part for
a color, it grabs the color image unaware of the quality of it. How would it
know to grab the generic large image of the part if a color image *is* available
for that part in that color that you clicked on?

It is annoying *right now* due to the quality of the images. And I think it is
*meant* to be annoying so users will help to move the site to high-quality part
images. I am doing my part to do this.

As a sidenote, these new images are better but still not really "High-Quality".
Even if you improve the quality (color, contrast) of the images grabbed from
the Lego Server, their size still remains 192x192, regardless if you fill them
into a 320x240 blank space (you) or if you just upload them in 192x192 size (Jen).

I am a proud owner of this set since 1980, I still have the original box, manual and catalog. Recently I acquired another set, in very similar shape, and by checking it against BrickLink's inventory I noticed that some pieces, physically present in both sets of mine, are still missing from BrickLink's inventory.
The four blue pieces (2 bricks and 2 slopes) are not used in the main model, but were present in the original box and used in the alternate models. Also, there were 4 red 1x2 plates, only one is used in the main model but all the four are used in some alternate models. Finally, the yellow round 1x1 bricks in my original box have an open stud, so this must be an "alternate" version.

Interesting find. For 1980, the round brick with open stud would be expected.
The other pieces, especially the blue ones, are a bit unusual, and I'm curious
as to which alternate models you find them in. Can you post pictures?

When hovering over the flags in your orders received list you'll see the
country names.
Set up you your invoice template by using conditional macros to differentiate
between domestic and international orders.
If postage to NZ is different from other international destinations, you can
also set up a special shipping option for NZ and use it through conditional macros,
too.

I think that would go a long way toward keeping those frustrated users "in-the-loop",
in case a significant portion of them are not forum readers.

with my 15+ years I will say this. The fast and easiest way to fix this is to
goto an already packaged software OUTSIDE of BL. For them to fix the system that
is here will take more man hours then its worth for the reward that something
already out there in the wild will already do. BL just needs to make a jumping
point from various places on the BL site to get you to the ticket system. that's
by far a much easier way to add a little code to get a better solution then what
is being used now. The current system of (Send an email) is Unacceptable with
the scale of problems that come in. Not to mention an analyst would love this
so they can see WTF is going on.
Come on guys.. need to be in this century.

Whenever I reported a bug or technical issue in the last months, and got a reply
on one of them, they had assigned a ticket number such as [22A-1FB0E900-0124]
for example.
The issue BrickLink has is that after sending the report, the sender does not
get an automated copy as e-mail to refer on if a reply is not received after
a reasonable timeframe.

Yeah this pissed me off last week when I went to close my Store. Honestly, Its
None of BL's Business why I want to close my store. What if I simply want
to close my Store because I feel like it.
They NEED an "OTHER" option with NO explanation or just remove that section all
together. I don't see why its even needed in the first place.

I was told it's just for statistics, because they want to learn why sellers
close their stores. They're also considering adding an "Other" reason.
Until then you can still select the last option from the list

When Invoicing why not just add the ability as a Check Box to Send as a (BL message

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but isn't this already in place? When I
send invoices to my Buyers, it is sent as both a BL message *and* an e-mail...

When I saw your Message I thought to myself maybe there is a setting I didn't
have checked. when I go to invoice there are only two options and one is send
to user but that isn't through the BL messaging System, its the one that
sends it directly to email. The other option is email to self. If you want to
send it as a Custom BL message so they get it only on BL I can only do it if
I copy and paste the printed version to then send that invoice message. Hence
why I figured it might be an nice option to have. If there is some hidden option
to make this auto send to the BL message system I could really use a leg up on
that. I've been getting annoyed at having to copy and paste the invoice into
the actual BL message for a buyer. If you know something I do I'd love to
have that secret...

Yes I have, but as I said this is not quite right. The original minifigure has
the solid stud head, and the newest ones had the blocked open stud

as you said, just differently worded.

in the 6067-1 set (Guarded Inn) all the minifigs have solid stud heads, as it was released in 1986 - I have one of this sets.
May be that in the 2001 release of the set (10000-1) the minifigs had the blocked open stud heads, but I am not sure.

Can I ask - why are the "North American Version" stickers being placed in the
Regular section and the "International Version" being placed as Alternates?
The rules clearly state that the variant most often found should be considered
"Regular". With part variants, often an exception to the rule is made, putting
the earliest variant as Regular, and often the frequency of one type over another
is not known.
But in this case, the International market is much bigger than the North American
market and the different versions are usually released around the same time.
If anything, the International versions would have been produced first, since
the ID numbers are lower.
I have read the thread, btw, where the difficulties concerning these sticker
variants have been discussed at length, but I haven't been able to find anything
about a decision to list the b version first:

I see under seller settings that you can block them. But I still don't see
how it works practically. If a customer doesn't read my terms and pays with
an eCheck and gets blocked, what are they going to do? Not apply for a credit
card, I'd imagine. They'll cancel an order that I already pulled, right?

They can always manually transfer money from their bank account to their PayPal
account and then pay from the balance.

Then any message from any member send on bricklink will also be send to your
regular inbox.
From there you can reply to the 'contacts' e-mail and attach pictures...
And from buyers you have the e-mail in your order form, so you can simply copy
it on BL and paste it in your mailerbrowser and send a mail, including pictures...

This was exactly my point by asking for date verification.
Using the basic premise of "define the part, not its function"
should show the year it was first produced, not the "first produced" year of
a set that it appeared in later as an alternate.

According to Brickset set 7239 was in production until 2011 so that explains
why it has 4599b as alternate. Based in 4599b's appearance in sets I have
started checking sets from 2007 in my personal collection to make sure that 4599a
was still included in sets in 2007. And I plan to do the same for sets from 2008
before submitting change requests for those sets.
It is likely that all listings for 4599 in set inventories are really 4599a but
it is possible that some of the later sets were listed by mistake because not
all inventory contributors carefully check for part variants, especially new
part variants that they are not yet aware of. But it is also not unusual for
Lego to have two or more part variants in production at the same time and they
often also use up their old stock before including new variants in sets.

I would like to say Thank You for what was and will continue to be a massive
amount of work. I did not mean to imply that this change shouldn't be made.
Just that your use of the dates as the reason might appear incorrect.
I was aware of the method used to list a part's date before I made my original
post. But new members may not be, and they may think that the "b" version of
this part was in production in 2004. Especially since the part's page for
the "a" version currently shows it only being from 1984-1999.

Under the current system it's not possible to automatically detect when a
new variant first appeared in a set.
For example 7239 obviously had several production runs. How will you know which
run first contained the new variant?
When a new variant is produced, and newly released sets contain this variant,
it's still possible - and proven - that the older variant will appear in
these sets as Lego is notoriouly known to not throw away any old parts.

Am I allowed to add a new set 75101-2?

If there are no box differences, we don't allow a 2nd entry as sellers would
not know under which entry to list a sealed set.

Why do you think it's {Not Applicable} instead of Trans-Clear?

Since the colors are integrated into the plastic of the sail, and do not seem
to be just a pattern printed onto transparent plastic, I thought it should be
considered a Multicolor part ({Not Applicable}) instead of a Trans-Clear one.
Also, the LEGO Replacement Parts service does not list a color for the part whereas
true Trans-Clear parts get the "TR." designation for their color.
However, now that I am looking through all of the other sails in the catalog,
it seems that they are almost all listed as Trans-Clear with a couple of exceptions
that go against what seems to be a "standard". This one in particular:
If you would like, I will go ahead and defer to what seems to be the standard
of having them as Trans-Clear and cancel this request as well as the one for
the PCC change. However, if the evidence I presented above sways your opinion,
we can go ahead with the changes. Thoughts?

Sorry for the late reply, I had to find the time to look up this Xtreme sail
ín my collection.
It appears to be Trans-Clear as base "color" like the other sails.
My opinion is that - for consistency - the Xtreme sail should be changed to Trans-Clear
and [p=bb663pb02] should stay as Trans-Clear.

It's still there, simply click on "By Color" next to "By Category".
The old store search also let you search for colors that the store didn't
have.

Did you know that you can click on the headings (Sets, Parts...) in a store?

This falls in line with other suggestions concerning highlighted categories etc.
Bring back the old method or change the new method so their is a subject of colours
in store available. It makes life so much easier for a buyer if they are looking
for pieces in a particular colour for a project.
