| I propose an analogy between LEGO parts and Stamps - where there is basically
the same 2 different needs, approaches and goals.
On one side Collectors, Historians POV
We've to carefully differentiate those:
Type I: without shading on the first circle to the left from number 1 (NBN).
Type II: shading on the first circle to the left from number 1 (ABN and CBN).
Type III: retouching: darker engraving in upper corners (ABN).
Price: up to huge.
Availability: complicated, up to impossible.
In forum: present and shouting
Number: hundreds to thousands?
On the other side, every day Buyers, Builders, Creators POV
Price: 68 cents.
Availability: quasi infinite.
In forum: zero
Number: tens of millions (with half a million already on BrickLink, and
millions on PAB)?
BrickLink will of course choose to support the vast majority of buyers.
Just like USPS is selling base stamps for every day usage.
Because it's what the vast majority needs.
BUT BrickLink will ALSO keep on providing it's finest Catalog on Earth to
those who need details of the History of the Brand.
Please Collectors, Historians, rebuilders of Sets from the past - consider the
whole market. And you'll still have the Catalog we all love and use.
So what?
I really and sincerely hope that helps?

| Please remove VERY misleading pics of:
I'm in heated discussion with a buyer who thinks there's this box around
the CD-ROM (while this picture's the whole Set box).
I've a brand New 8483-1 CD (for sale in shop), I'll try to take pics
for you Catalog people.
It looks like this - don't use this pic, it's not mine:

| I just wanted to write in a Post that Chickaroo told us long ago her motto was
"Buy first, think later!"
Unfortunately, Forum doesn't help to easily link to a member (if someone
doesn't know this specific one ha ha).
Apart using an ugly link like:
https://www.bricklink.com/feedback.asp?u=Chickaroo
Suggestion is to add a member MACRO in Forum, like the ones we have for
Catalog Items, but for Members:
[ u = Chickaroo ]
It would include a small version of the ID Pic and the user name, something like:
We could have a dropdown list choice: "Member", "Shop", "Posts"
which would produce:
[ u = Chickaroo ]
[ x = Adams family ] (or the shopID [ x = 17662 ])
[ p = Chickaroo]
Then, depending the choice, clicking on it:
[ u = Chickaroo ] opens member Profile page
[ x = Adams family ] opens Shop page
[ p = Chickaroo] opens the page where you could see her posts in Forum
Please heavily approve, and of course, that's very necessary and urgent to
implement.
Thank you BrickLink!

Author: | 1001bricks | Posted: | Dec 25, 2023 14:42 | Subject: | Can't ship to UK without EORI not provided | Viewed: | 105 times | Topic: | Taxes
| Hi BrickLink!
Following and having read tens of posts about this, with no clear reply...
One of our Shipping method (La Poste Delivengo) requires an EORI number to
ship to UK.
This isn't the VAT-ID you provide in your "Your LEGO® BrickLink VAT invoice
UKxxxxx" PDF.
The VAT-ID is as GB+9 numbers, while EORI is GB+12/15 numbers.
I tested it here, and it's not valid as an EORI:
https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/check-eori-number
While SylvainLS wrote in Forum:
"EORI is for sellers who sell to EU on their own, not through a marketplace
like BL."
... maybe, but how La Poste would see it's BrickLink who takes care of the
VAT if I don't give them BrickLink's EORI number?
In short - please provide the EORI number in those documents, or/and in Help,
or even as a PM
For maybe a year it's mandatory I lose 5 to 10€ for each shipping
as I've to use a more expensive Shipping Method (La Poste Colissimo International)
instead, which doesn't - for now - requests specifically an EORI number.
Theorically it's required for any Shipping Method:

Thank you!

| Eventually and after 6+ months of preparation and testing, and a Stack Overflow
question of a really tough problem... this PC's migrated (few days ago) on
Windows 10!
Hopefully they'll cut us some slack... because Windows 10 support is supposed
to end in 2025 - that's almost next year
Fun fact, I still have a VM with the exact initial Windows XP I used when I registered
BrickLink
To share this event, I'm making a casual contest on forum: find the answer
and get 50€ of FREE order + its up to 500g FREE shipping, worldwide!
Double question:
* Which was the name of the very first Application (apart Windows itself,
D'oh) installed on my now obsolete PC Windows 7?
* As more than one person may find the name, please also give the date
(day/month if possible, or clearly differentiating) when this application
was installed in 2014...
Contest's opened from now on, until it closes on BrickLink EST date: Saturday,
Dec 23, 2023 00:00 EST
It's a bit more than 2 days only.
Rules (TL;DR):
* replies must be public, posted on Forum only - I may or not reply or comment
the posts
* 1 (ONE) reply per BrickLink member. You can cancel one/some and post a new.
But more than 1 will exclude all your replies
* winner is the one to give the correct application name, and (if few have) the
closest installation date (measure in days to this specific date)
* an application name, even a bit approximative is required: it shouldn't
consist of or contain abbreviation(s)
* the installation date should be CLEARLY differentiating day/month, if not like
03/04, I'll interpret it as day/month (yeah, French style)
* as a proof, I will post the screen copy of the Windows settings showing the
first installed apps in chronological order, showing the dates of course
* the price is an order credit in our shop for 50€ + 500g shipping cost to your
Country
* sorry, but no member's account with 0 (ZERO) Feedback Profile, or double
account (if we can be aware of)
* you will have to use our "Invoice me manually" Shipping Method so I
can credit the amount, and mention the contest in message so I know it's
you
* no heavy things like Baseplates, Duplo, Instructions..., this is supposed to
be casual - and avoid 100+ lots for the same reason
* you're of course welcome to order for more, in this case I'll credit
you the 50€ + 500g shipping price to your Country
* if your order's below the offered price, we will NOT send a payment of
the difference (it's like a Coupon if you wish)
* if your order's above, we may offer you the difference, or have to invoice
you the extra (depending multiple factors)...
* because contest will end before Xmas and we're overloaded, please don't
expect a quick shipping, especially for high number of lots
* tracking may or may not be provided or available depending too many factors
like Country, size, weight...
Note: Admins, Mods and even Pizza fans are (gladly!) accepted (but adults - which
may exclude some Pizza fans, LOL...)
See how I'm happy!
Good luck.
PS: just discovered we've got a Contest Topic, didn't know - thanks Cory
I guess!

But be sure gummies neither won't make you loss weight - at the contrary.
They're absolutely filled with various sugars.

They may contain gelatin which is a mixture of proteins extracted from skin such
as pig skin, bones, cartilage, etc. https://www.1001bricks.com

Both fat and sugar are bad for you - says preventive cardiology dietitian Kate
Patton, RD, LD.

But pizza isn't better! https://store.bricklink.com/Nubs_Select?p=Nubs_Select#/shop
Depending on the type of crust, the amount of cheese and the toppings used, pizza
can rank anywhere from nutritionally decent to a diet disaster.

But Mustard... Ahhh mustard contains antioxidants and other beneficial plant
compounds thought to help protect your body against damage and disease. For instance,
it's a great source of glucosinolates, a group of sulfur-containing compounds
found in all cruciferous vegetables, including broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts,
and mustard.

| As title says, we're soon selling this *very precious* Tan 3005 Brick.
You can see its picture on top right of this message.
It's in a very good condition!
Always cherished and never abused, no no.
Might wear (like a scarf) very very very few scratches from rare unhappy members.
For now we're still using it - I'm also sorry about this - but it'll
soon be available!
PS: there are some conditions for you to acquire it.
Which may not be a problem (but could be long)
Wishing you the best.
Good luck to all!

| Yes, I know, the title is a click bait, but wait... wouldn't you click the
green button?
The input field for the refund amount doesn't accept you to type the "-"
character (minus).
But he's fine with a minus sign pasted or a pasted negative number
Seriously, it can be problematic if you try to scroll down and inadvertently
have the cursor in the refund amount field: the refund amount will decrease.
Which is exactly what happend to me before this joke...

| It seems it's all displayed in Font Size 666 or more.
Scrolling doesn't change, you just see a part of a shop.
Tried on my favorite guinea pig:
https://store.bricklink.com/Nubs_Select
Tested on Firefox (latest) and Edge, same result.
It's very recent, it worked a few hours ago.
Other pages seem OK, including forum.

Author: | 1001bricks | Posted: | Aug 26, 2022 14:12 | Subject: | Contest ! | Viewed: | 269 times | Topic: | Off Topic
| We're running a contest!
The question - to be answered in forum exclusively - is:
How many bricks are there in our Shop name?
I know, it's difficult.
One reply per person per day, unless it's one of the seven days of the week,
in this case you're free to reply whenever you want.
But if you reply after the winner has been named, then we won't care for
your reply - like all the replies, BTW.
I'd recommend you the DanialR method which consits to put blue points wherever
you can, to help you.
The winner is the one who will have the exact number.
The other participant are brave, but basically losers, and the History will forget
them.
If no one find the exact number, we'll pick as winner: someone, or the game
organizer.
But be sure it'll be someone else than you (but it won't hurt you).
The prize is: nothing.
You may get my sympathy, but if it's not already the case... then don't
hope too much.
Warning - there may be additional conditions and disclaimers and unqualification
rules I'm not aware right now, but I can decide whenever I feel appropriate.
Thank you.
Please go outside and do something else than polluting the forum.
