Follow up: I followed all of the advice given here and finally won the fraudulent
Paypal claim opened by this buyer. I'm stuck with a negative FB but at least
they weren't successful in ripping me off.

Thanks so much for all the good info.

Kind of a long story, buyer contacts me last month asking if I'll please
open my store so they could purchase a couple of figures. Wasn't really
interested, but gave them the password anyway (my first mistake), and they made
a purchase. Pulled the order and sent invoice, instead of paying they waited
awhile and used the password to add another figure. Pulled it and sent another
invoice, same thing, they waited awhile and added another figure, pulled it and
sent an invoice, you guessed it, they waited, used the password and added another
figure. Each time resetting the time.

Anyway, once I was wise to this scenario I changed the password and waited.
Finally messaged asking if they were going to submit payment or if there was
a problem I should be aware of. Response was, I'll be submitting payment
today. Waited several more days and finally opened a NPB. Buyer paid that evening
and I shipped the order the next day. Mostly brand new never assembled CMF's
with leaflets and packages.

Tracking shows the order was delivered a few days, so today I get this message:
"Hi! I have received the package. But all of the figures are so permiated with
cat urine, As I was walking out to the mailbox I could even smell it. Maybe
by a compensating half refund That would be fair. Let me know what you can do!
Thank you Kindly!"

I did respond in anger (my second mistake), "Seriously? Guessing this is a pathetic
attempt at retaliation, since you couldn't
be bothered to pay for your order until I filed a NPB. Especially since I don't
even have a cat."

So this is where we are now, see pic. Between 1000's of transactions between
here and Ebay I've never had a claim made against me, but hear all the time
that Paypal always sides with the buyer, does anyone have any suggestions on
how to proceed. In a normal situation I'd simply tell the buyer to return
the order for a full refund including shipping, in this case I seriously doubt
mu merchandise would come back the same way it was sent.

delay and demanded a full refund). We gave paypal the facts and they closed it

Thanks, I did respond in Paypal, offering a full refund plus shipping upon return,

Either she'll get a refund or return something unpleasant. fingers crossed.

That's the message they sent through Paypal? I"m sure even paypal would see

Yes, that's a screenshot of their message.

You got some good advise regarding PayPal, let's hope it's handled justly.

I've provided everything I have, and had already offered a full refund, including
shipping, plus provided a return label, so we'll see.

As for the furbabies, sadly the rottie and tri-color mix both passed away the
beginning of this year, 1 in Jan. and 1 in April. Both were seniors and went

It is possible an animal entered the delivery truck and did it's business
on your package. I have left my car door open for minutes and my neighbors cats
entered my car. I think the cats thought my car was either a fun house or had
something good to eat (or both) as the cats entered my car a few times.

I would offer return shipping with a prepaid label and provide a refund upon
receipt of the items. I would also video opening the package that was returned.

Anything is possible, my concern is this all started AFTER I opened a NPB, then
they tried to get a 50% discount for "urine" that miraculously became a full
refund for "counterfeit" items. It's pretty clear this buyer is nothing
but a scammer and thief.

I really hope admin. sees this and gets rid of them before they steal from someone
else. This isn't the kind of behavior I've come to expect from people
on this site and the main reason I stopped selling on Ebay. It's people
like this that ruin things for everyone else.

BTW, he was gone long before the "counterfeit and covered in urine" figures

I'm on a fact finding mission: Has anyone recently (December 2021) shipped
minifigures to Florida, only to have them arrive to your buyer missing or damaged?

Over the past two weeks, I have had multiple orders pass through USPS facilities
in Florida that, upon delivery to my buyers, had the packaging damaged (as is,
ripped open and resealed) and minifigures missing from the shipment (but other
pieces intact).

I feel like my own data points are not statistically significant to point to
anything large and nefarious, so if this has happened to you recently, I'd

  like to hear about it.

I'm in central Florida, no missing minifigs, but I received a snow globe
via USPS in horrific condition. Package was clearly labeled fragile, package
was torn apart to the point the globe box was in pieces and the foam packing
was destroyed. Luckily the globe wasn't brokenn though.

Have your seller take the shipping receipt to USPS in person. As a seller I
had a package go missing, tracking showed delivered, buyer said they never received.

I took the receipt in person, to my local USPS and they were able to tell me
exactly where it was delivered, together with an address and photo of the place
it was delivered.

  Hi all,

I have an issue with a customer: the package he bought was returned to me after
shipping, because the buyer was not at home when the delivery service offered
the package (3 times they tried). I want to resend the package to him and even
offered to pay 50% of the shipping costs for this second time. He states it is
not his fault the package was returned (however; the package was shipped without
insurance). Now the buyer wants a refund and cancel the order, because he does
not want to pay for any extra shipping costs.

Since it was a big order, I don't want to cancel or refund the order. And
I will definitely not pay back the shipping costs. What are your thoughts about
this? How should I proceed?

Personally I would refund, including shipping, and move on.

In general: when a buyer chooses a cheap shipment (without insurance) and anything
goes wrong (for example; the package got lost); it is not my responsibility,
is it?

Yes, as a seller it is your responsibility whether it's insured or not.

Last thoughts: you don't want negative reviews/ratings of your store, but
what to do when a customer is just unreasonable?

Whatever it takes to make them happy, within reason. Happy customers are loyal
customers.

Let me know what you think or your experiences were! I am very curious...

Thanks in advance, Darcy

By "until last night," do you mean before or after the site maintenance at 10:50-11:00
PM Pacific Time? Is it happening when you view other sellers' stores too?
Because I've had that happen when viewing my store and other stores twice
now, but it's been reset and the problem's gone away with daily maintenance
each time.

It was happening in every store including mine which is why I thought it might
be a BL problem. I knew if I came here someone would have a helpful suggestion
and I was right! Thanks to SylvainLS I was able to figure it out.

It was my own stupidity, not surprising, as soon as he mentioned settings the
light bulb went off. Last night I was trying to figure out if there was a way
to make the featured items page go away because I truly dislike it. Instead
I made everything except that vanish, for every store. Who knew?

From now on I plan to leave the settings alone, I know I'm technologically
challenged and should've known better.

Thanks again! Darcy

So I wonder what they will do with Friends? Maybe they will include more male
minidolls in the sets to make that more gender balanced.

I thought the whole point of Friends and the minidoll was to aim products firmly
at girls, and that the minidoll form came from their research that (some) girls
find it more appealing than the traditional minifigure. Unless they start to
introduce a lot more male figures, Friends (and any future minidoll series like
Elves) will always be seen as a girls range, even though some boys like it. The
Friends sets are much more targeted towards girls than City is towards boys.

Possibly, but if you turn back the clock, and look at Scala, Belville and Paradisa,
those were both more gender neutral than Friends.

Friends has felt a bit, like a girls only gender space. Regardless of you spot
on the diversity spectrum, that is rather limiting.

Nita Rae

I thought embracing diversity was supposed to celebrate differences not try to
eliminate them. I think they have got the wrong message out of their research.
Instead of stopping making some toys that appeal to girls and some that appeal
to boys they (and everyone else) perhaps need to focus on why it is seen as a
peer issue if some boys play with the girls toys. What next, no male or female
fragrances, only perfumes that are gender neutral?

I really wanted a couple of the new Santa Sleigh sets that came out this year.
But you know what happened? Two hours after they were available, they were
sold out because greedy scalpers had snapped up every set and are now reselling
them for stupidly inflated prices. These kinds of people do NOT love Lego.
They are filth and anyone reselling one of these sets should be immediately banned
from this site as punishment. Not just for this set, but because they do it
with every set, creating false scarcity to drive up the price. Once again, these
people should not be allowed on a site for people you love Lego, because they
don't, they love money. Let them trade stocks like the rest of the parasites
on the planet.

WOW! That's quite a rant, not sure I would've put it quite that way,
but I absolutely do see your point. We've missed out on a few sets for exactly
this reason, it's ridiculous to see sets sold out within minutes. Lego should
put strict buying limits in place just for this reason. Something like one per
address, at least for the first couple of weeks of release date to give everyone
chance.
