Hi smart people,
Is there anyway for me or the buyer to change the currency once they have placed
the order? It is an international order so the payment will be online. She
has chosen NZD and through paypal i only accept CAD.

Thanks for reading and for any help,
Rebecca

Hi
Is there a way to change the currency for the part out value under price guide?
Probably not, but I'm asking because I get SEK everywhere else but always
USD under Part out value.
It's a bit annoying to have to convert it, especially since it's in SEK
on Rebrickable. They differ wildly in value though, so I'm not entirely sure
which is right. same with Brickstore.

Under My BL, it shows all my purchases in the currency of the selling country
(ie, when I purchase from China, it shows everything in CYN, or purchases from
Europe show in Euro). Is there a way to have them display in US dollar?

How does one change the price guide currency? I've tried changing my country.
I don't see a currency option under price guide settings. I see the prices
in GBP. I would like to see them in DKK or EUR instead.

Re forum thread https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1373481

I've also lost more than 50 Euros in the last months, regardless the foreign
currency!

The exchange rate was fine until the end of 2022.
Apparently LEGO/BrickLink set it to a fixed higher rate since then, and - due
to the strengthening of my currency - I've lost ~1-5% per order in every
case, when the Customer paid in a foreign currency (USD & EUR, in my case). Not
counting with the robbery over at PayPal - but that's another story.
They basically fixed the EUR-HUF and USD-HUF rates @ ~396,90 on 10-01-2023!
Look no further than column "F"...

Again, user "rankster" is correct (https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1397761)
- before some of you might tell me/us again - this has nothing to do with PayPal,
nor with VAT. My VAT status has unchanged, and I also exempt from VAT.

I've made a quick summary, I obviously validated this randomly with selecting
orders from the middle of the batch (with 2-3 months old, or older orders) as
well.
Find my history attached, along with the BrickLink and PayPal proofs of my latest
"gem", where I've lost EUR 18.22 !!!

I lost EUR 45.58 and USD 4.95 total in the last months, due to this exchange
rate difference.

So, dear BrickLink, what happened with exchange rates on Jan 10, 2023?

I even validated the issue with the orders I had and gave negative feedback on
- since these are permanently remain in the list, therefore I could find orders
even back from 2020 to validate my point with.
After watching the picture attached, stop telling us that it is a VAT/PayPal/whatever
issue! This is related to BrickLink exclusively.

If my friend didn't tell me, I might've missed it completely, and who
knows how much more money I would've lost.
I wanted to opt in foreign currencies since I started my business on BL, because
it is better for my customers, and I'd also receive some amount in foreign
currencies to my PayPal account also, to spend.
But now, I obviously had to disable all foreign currencies for the time being,
while this "bug" do exist.

This is outrageous, how can we get the money back we lost?
I hope we can get our money back in some form or way, maybe in BrickLink fee
credit.

And I'm a small business.
Imagine the same issue laying around for months, for hundreds (if not thousands)
of related stores, with an inventory and order rate 10-100x bigger than mine.
How big $$$ pile is that ?!?

I do really truly hope that this is "just" a bug, and not some kind of
shady practice by LEGO/BrickLink!

Waiting for this to be resolved ASAP!

I live in the US but I also have a bank account in an EU country where I transfer
USD when it gets close to parity with the Euro. I spend 1-2 months in europe
every year so this has helped hedge against currency exchange rates. So I've
already jumped through all those hoops in order to have banking accounts as a
non-citizen.

So...

is it at all possible to have two paypal accounts linked to my store where people
paying in USD would route through my US account and people in the EU would route
through a European account?

Hi, I reside in the USA and recently started a BL store and am accepting international
orders from several countries. This post is mainly geared towards other sellers
who do the same.

I currently have it listed that I accept USD, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar,
and euro.

#1: should I try to list all the main currencies from the dozen or so countries
I sell to and add those to my accepted currencies section?

#2: should I only accept USD? I ask because I know that just accepting US dollars
eliminates the need for me to pay the Paypal conversion fee, but also, does that
seem to block out a substantial % of potential buyers from my non-US customers
(in your experience), Or do non-US customers tend to be able to pay in USD with
relative ease.

I accept PayPal onsite payments only.

I realize that I have to make the final decision but I'd appreciate any input.

Thank you very much!

Hi

Why is Bricklink charging me with a rate of 1EUR = 0.9289 USD

XE.COM says it's 1 EUR = 0.996012 USD

The difference is absurd !

Hi there,

I would like to know the part out value of some of my sets.
Unfortunately the price guide only shows the POV in US dollars.
In my account settings the current value = euro's, so I'm not quite sure
why the part out value is shown in US dollars.
So I'm, wondering Is it because I'm only a buyer (not a seller)?
Any help would be appreciated!

Kind regards,
Mendy
