I've thought this for a long time now; I agree and for exactly the same reasons.
It's a shame, as some U.S. sellers have great part-lists and excellent sales
- all negated by postage, import duty and P.O. charges (that are generally MUCH
higher than the actual duty).

Maybe I'm not understanding completely, James, but it does in the forum "Marketplace".....

| Wayne's post and others like it, https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1150409
brings to mind an idea that briefly visited my headspace some time ago:
A type of reverse want list. That is, a way that sellers could peruse the current
want lists to specific buyer's needs, to then as a seller, proactively engage
members like Wayne with offers on items they have on their want list.
Kinda like amping-up the want list and selling process, by getting the sellers
more involved in increasing their sales by actually selling
It's just a rough draft of an idea. Limitations, restriction and other refinements
of the idea, expected.
But hey, BL shot-callers, it speaks directly to upping the sales numbers!

I'd really like to express, before I've had my cup of joe on this fine
morning, how much I appreciated the people (yes all the people) here on the forum.
After receiving emails of encouragement, critic, praise and ideas regarding this
posted suggestion, it struck home for me just how many read the forum without
participating.
There are many more eyes on your posts than you might think

| Hello
Many times i search for a decorated items (xxxxPBxx for an exemple).
Exemple
I have this one :
2440pb002 / https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?id=2911#T=C
But it sadly never appears when we search for 2440 (what's only written on
the part)
And that's only thanks a long search on some other website that i finally
could find it on brickink.
So, is it possible to add all those sub-serial numbers to the normal search
For an exemple it could be a new COLOR category : decorated.
Or as for my exemple, it is a black part with decoration, so to put it in the
BLACK color.
Thanks a lot in advance
|
So basically having Goatleg.com as a feature to Bricklink
or try searching 2440*
Then it will list all 2440 items decorated or not.

To narrow it down further - click Market, then click Search, then use this criteria
to find any decorated 2440 in black.
Only the ones inventoried to a set will show, but this definitely helps when
you're looking for a specific decorated item in a certain color as some of
the parts like tiles have a ton of decorated variations of all colors.

| Hello

I didnt know the * tip after a serial number.
It works great
Still, that might be helpful i think if for the 2440 (exemple), they all appear
in the color list may they be decorated or not
Nice day to everyone

| That would be something! We usually have around 100 pounds of un-inventoried

Thank you! That's exactly the thing i wanted to say.
A little more complicated, but without the intense spamming:
BL builds in a kind of public tender system.
Buyers can then issue a tender by adding their WL (or parts of it) and defining
how long the sellers can participate (5 days, 30 days...) and who can participate
(worldwide or just particular countries, only sellers with minimum 99% praise
and so on).
Then the sellers have the possibility to add items to their offer (from their
inventory and/or by adding it "manually") and to adjust the price if they want
to. Until the offer is accepted/rejected by the buyer or cancelled, all items
in the offer are "locked".

Good input. Great thoughts!

(sorry for the bad English)

Your English is very good, Phillip. Impressive, in fact.
