Additional Notes: The connection to the Knights' Kingdom I theme seems to be in the patterns used on the flags and shields. The Knights Kingdom logo does appear on the box. At this writing we have chosen to have the minifigs of this set sorted according to type description rather than theme name. In Lego catalogs, the association is not explicit, with the set often pictured several pages away from other Knights Kingdom sets of the Knights Kingdom II theme and without the Knights Kingdom logo.
From the Lego website (in late August 2006): "A LEGO® Legend returns! Inspired by the legendary #6090 Royal King’s Castle...." Interestingly, every online set database in the world refers to 6090 as Royal Knight's Castle. Lego has not classified and grouped this set as a true Legends set on their website.
Lego's US Shop at Home Summer 2006 catalog gives the name as just King's Castle. In the Fall 2006 catalog, the name is finally given as Royal King's Castle, matching the website. And, that same Fall 2006 catalog uses "Knights" instead of "King's" in naming set 6090. But it switches the normal order of "Knights" and "Royal" and gives it as Knights' Royal Castle.
