This item is nowhere near the instruction manual during the assembly process.

It was added based on sealed set contents and confirmed twice by sealed set contents.
So it really is part of this set.

Maybe add an inv note to say that this part comes in the set but it is not used
in the instrucctions?

If it's legitimately not used to build the set (I've confirmed this)
wouldn't that make it an extra part?

According to our inventory sections definitions, the part in question does not
meet the criteria for being in the Regular Items section:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=1562

"Regular Items - Parts required to build the main model and any secondary
models plus any other parts on the official parts list. In the absence of an
official parts list, the official parts count, the instructions, and/or images
on the packaging are used to determine as closely as possible the contents of
this section."

The piece is not required for the main model or any secondary models shown on
the box, there was no official parts list at the time, there is no official parts
count that I can find, and it is not shown in the instructions anywhere.

I will try to get more information on this from the other admins that had sealed
sets.

Cheers,
Randy
