  Greetings all,

The spammer emails continue and are now a daily basis. See attached image as
it shows the incorrect email.

@BrickLink: can you please put a banner on the landing page to at least warn
users of this issue.

I'm curious though, is this being done to any/all users of BL or is this
subjective to sellers.

Brian

Already voted yes, but we both know that even if enough users vote yes, will
they even implement the category.

Bri

It's a good question, Brian.

We've had three or four suggestions implemented over the years. The latest
of ours was in response to another topic foisted upon the membership:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1244764

I fight to keep this particular feature alive here on BL, and have for years.
Though I'll not stop fighting for the idea of membership involvement, I will
lose the battle if the idea is not maintained and kept strong within the membership
itself. And that idea can't endure if our voices are not loud enough to be
heard at distance This feature along with the BL catalog, are at the focal
point of this vital sentiment that joins admin with membership, imho.

Agree, an "alert" topic where copies of the "fake" messages can
be safely posted to minimize there effectiveness.

I also must add that we lost 2 days worth of sales just a few days ago because
we got caught by a scammer changed a bunch of our settings and listed a few "Too
Good to be True" sets.

I am grateful admin shut our page down when they caught it before we did. But
we were able to make the needed changes and were back up pretty quick. Still
a pain in the a$$.

Something like that's gotta be a pain. Well done, Admin.

There's no additional step needed, just have some patience, for there are
558 items with images pending. Stickered parts don't have the highest priority.
But it would help when a note is added in which book and on which page of the
instruction we can find it. That would save us a lot of time going through all
stickered part submissions.

While waiting, you also can have a look at the names you submitted. Both names
are missing the terms sticker, pattern and the set number.

To see examples, you can search for: pattern sticker*

Thanks,

I have not been notified of any orders for several days. Then today I happened
to click on the Orders button, and there is a pile of orders, waiting to be shipped!
How do I get the notifications to work???

Can anyone point me in the right direction as I've even contacted the seller

Just what 1001bricks said.
I was confused my first time as well.
The seller was very quick to email me with an invoice, and I was able to pay
directly from a link in the invoice (or from your cart on bricklink; which I
remember reading was the preferred method). Just watch your email.

Just as an FYI; here are the steps I take:
1) Create a wishlist and add all your required parts to this wishlish.
2) When finished, view the wishlist.
3) There is a "Buy All" button from the wishlist. This will take you
to a page which lists all the stores, and there are some filters.
4) I always filter to the USA (to avoid international delays); AND filter for
"Instant Checkout".

The instant checkout is what allows you to complete the payment immediately,
and not have to wait/watch for an invoice.

Or is it only for buyers?
Or an option?

Batches are separated, apart if (seller anyway) clicks bottom of the order to
"Consolidate batches". But here, it doesn't show any different batches
(it's the firs one), and if there are 2 lots it can't be neither consolidated.

Just a rare bug

Frankly - if personally I'd describe and report all the bugs I encounter
in Windows, Firefox, Studio, Notepad++ and tens of software I use all day long,
I wouldn't have any second of my life to do anything else

I mean, it's not BrickLink specific; it's just development / IT is an
Human activity, and we're all bugged - so the whole shebang isn't perfect.

Hi and welcome

The Catalog Request topic is for, well, requests about the main catalogue, not
personal inventories.

As you’re very new and a buyer (not a seller), I presume you’re talking about
My Collection (https://www.bricklink.com/v3/myCollection/main.page ).
In that case, you can delete each section by uploading an empty file.

That is:
— click the Import/Export dropdown on the upper right corner of the “Add…” dialog
(see pic),
— choose “Import…,”
— select “Custom CSV or XML file” (top choice),
— give it an empty file (just create a file with nothing in it or just spaces),
— it’ll warn you it’s empty, continue,
— select “Replace collection”,
— it’ll warn you you’ll lost your collection, Submit.

No idea.

but I don’t have it enabled so it’s even stranger.

I have a question. Does anyone know when the ban on buying things from Russia
will end? Because I have something in my cart from Russia that won't let

Thanks in advance,
Mannsky

Hopefully after the country recognizes the errors of its ways and financially
contributes to rebuilding the country it has destroyed! Perhaps at that point
trade and normality can resume but sadly there appears to be no end in sight!

In other words probably best not to hold out any hope in being able to buy what
you need any time soon!

only if its completed. if the seller "resolves" it with bricklink by
either refunding or sending proof of shipping it will get taken down

It was figured out by the buyer that the head is the wrong type.

That, to me, would suggest that the seller sent something that is "Item not
as described".

It would be on the seller to ensure that the correct item is sent to the buyer.

There's actually some guidelines I found that the seller has to abide by
online. See link below.

If BrickLink administrators have seen this, they know there are legal obligations
that Australians have to meet, and one in particular would be that they have
to send the correct item or refund.

I live in Australia and if the government got a complaint about an Australian
seller, they would be unfunny about dealing with it.

These guidelines I found online are a little out of date, but they do give a
fair idea of what the legal requirements for Australian sellers are:

If this shop you bought to doesn't have auto checkout and instant payment,
the you simply have to wait for a manual invoice.

It can take as much time as it needs to...

But as of right now it's weekend and evening, so it's much normal you
didn't get a reply

I do have problems while shipping to South America, in a general meaning.
Either it's lost or delayed.

One of my orders arrived... 7 months later, and the buyer was kind enough to
not complain in any way! What a gem!

Now this specific OP has a problem on an specific order content; it could not
be related to generic corruption of Customs, Postal services, Police, Justice
etc - of course, assuming there is.

could you share the .obj file you tried?

Latest Studio and Part Designer, Win 10, healthy new system 64GB RAM.

Open studio

Open PartDesigner
New, Import, Studio Part, locate or search for "hose" and pick the first
one: 75c03
leave everything as default
File, export to Studio, leave everything as default

Studio, Custom Parts
It shows the name and the file, but no picture, and it places something invisible,
you can see them on the right in the step list, but nothing on your build space

But if you do the exact procedure with a 3001 Brick 2x4, it works 100% as expected.

No change if you close and re-open studio, tried 10 times everything...

I’ve seen other sellers having inventory errors due to instant checkout probably
but I don’t have it enabled so it’s even stranger.

I find your comment extremely unfair. All I did was try to fight for my rights.
This was the first purchase I made internationally that arrived, all the others
I made there were problems with some, but in the end I either solved the problem
or let it go. I just wanted the seller to pay attention, I only ordered two minifigures,
for a total of seven pieces. There was one time, this other purchase where I
ordered more than a hundred pieces. When it arrived, I promised myself I would
forgive the seller if he had forgotten some, yet they all arrived.
Now, let me thank you on behalf of all Brazilians. It's refreshing that we
can't buy from someone as prejudiced as you.
There was another person who mentioned that complaining could get me banned and
let me say that I'd rather be banned than sit in silence.
And I also want to warmly thank everyone who responded to this thread. I don't
think I'll get any kind of compensation, but it's good to see how many
people were willing to help.

You're willingness to wholly accept and enact the vindictive advise of others
is enough for me. I'm sure you're now embolden to move onto other vendors
with the same abuse... As far as I'm concerned: kick rocks and have at it

I've received an order which contains a few duplicated lots while the order
has only one batch and I don't have multiple lots of the same parts in my
inventory since I consolidate all my lots.

I've also checked and the quantity of the brick in the picture is correct,
I have total of 29 in stock.

How is this possible? Any chance the buyer added 4 to the cart and added 5 later?
Shouldn't it be combined to 9 in the cart if I don't have multiple lots
of the same part?

Just spent some time doing my least favourite task: Adding wheels and wheel assemblies

Many thanks

I just did this task too. Anything I can separate I do. Do you have the printable
tire identification chart? I got a copy from someone here about 4 years ago.
Haven't been able to find it since. Would love to print (and save this
time) as mine is getting a little worn out.

After reading through the entire thread with your replies and the attitude
conveyed, I thank you. Actually feel better about having long ago removed Brazil
from our ship-to countries. Thanks again

Or open it in LeoCAD or mecabricks,

The problem is “it”: the file is not in LDraw, so you need to get it from Digital-bricks.de.
IDK about Mecabricks but LeoCAD can’t create it for you if you don’t download
it first.

save as .obj, and import this is Part Designer,

If you’re going through PD, there’s no reasons to go through a .obj file: PD
can import the LDraw .dat file.

BTW, I just spent an hour on this, if you import an lDraw file containing a Hose
rigid 3mm in PartDesigner, then when you export to Studio it shows an "empty"
(void) part.

Same if directly importing a Hose rigid 3mm in PD and Export it to Studio.

The only way it works is:
* create or import the lDraw in Leocad,
* export as Wavefront (.obj),
* import in PD,
* export to Studio.

Same with Hose ribbed IIRC.

Weird bug - and yes, it's not the proper place about this
If you know why, no need to start a thread for so few

Tyres? Ah... tires!

I think it's better to sell them separately, this way buyer has the choice
to put any tire on the wheel, as there can be multiple assemblies. IMO.

Ask Putin!

You could. But asking the country being sanctioned rather than those doing the
sanctioning, doesn't make a whole lot of sense. That is if you earnestly
want to know "when" the restriction will be lifted

This is interesting. None of the other axles in that set came in those colors,
so it's not like they were cut in half (PS, I could totally see a need for
these though, mating two from opposite sides of the same axle hole.)

Nothing shows up under 1L, 1/2L, with friction or without friction.

The IOSS number should be on the VAT receipt generated by BrickLink.

You'll need to use a service like Pirate Ship to send the IOSS number electronically
- you can't when you purchase postage at the retail counter, and PayPal's
implementation of Ship Station doesn't provide for it.

In Problem Order, Seph6 writes:
The three options were to return everything for a full refund

You paid via PayPal and this is how PayPal works: You receive your item. You
think (either correctly or not) that it is not as described. Like one item
is wrong or you bought Lego and you received a package full of scrapped paper.
You file a claim with PayPal. Then the seller can accept return. This means you
have to pay return shipping from your own pocket and once (and only if) the seller
receives the returning package, you will get a refund. You will be out the return
shipping costs and the seller will be out the sending shipping costs (the one
from Australia to Brazil).
You can file a PayPal claim but this is what you would get. If a buyer file a
PayPal claim against me, I would accept the outcome as accept return shipping
and would not continue to give other options to buyer. That would be the end
of story/resolution.

  and I have to prove
that I paid taxes,

To whom you should prove this and why would you need to prove this?!!

or to return just the wrong minifigure, or to accept 10 US
dollars as compensation.
My problem is that he wasn't flexible,

Hi is showing some flexibility. He gave these three options.
Correct or not, many sellers just refund the cost of item and perhaps part of
shipping costs. Is that like $10 that he is willing to pay?

as he was the one who made the mistake,
I think he could have asked what I wanted to do.

I'll tell you how I wanted to resolve this, I wanted the price of the head
plus shipping price. My purchase was two minifigs, the wrong one was about 60%
of the total purchase. I already ordered the head,

The seller is not responsible for your other purchases. Even mentioning this
to seller is wrong and in my opinion somehow unethical. He has nothing to do
with your other purchase and is not by any means responsible to what you paid
to the other seller.
If this is not clear why. Let me explain: as an example, assume you buy two items
for $100 from one seller and they end up being wrong. Then you ordered them separately
from two other sellers and it costs you in total $150. Then, would you contact
the seller and ask for $150 refund?! Is there any shop in the world who would
refund you your whole payment, i.e. $100, and give you $50 on top of that?!

it cost a total of 19 dollars
(and this amount should not include taxes). My order for it cost 85, plus about
another 85 with tax.

You paid import taxes to your government and not to the seller. He is not responsible
for what you paid for taxes. For example, if you return and get a full refund
from the seller, then you should show prove of refund to your government to get
your paid import taxes refunded.
The import taxes you paid is high but this is not seller's fault. He ships
to many countries and their import fees. Other marketplaces like Ebay, Amazon,...
don't refund import fees (unless if they collect import fees themselves.
Ebay.com collects import fees but not ebay.ca)

If the seller gives you partial refund, then I think you can get a partial refund
of your paid import taxes. In Canada, we have to mail documents to get a refund.
In Canada, the import fees (if processed by CanadaPost) are %12 (excluding shipping
costs) plus $9.95 CAD. So if I paid $100, my taxes would be 12+9.95 = 21.95 and
if I get $20 partial refund, I can pay $0.95 to send documents in a letter and
get a partial refund of 20* 0.12 = $2.4 Cad. If I return the whole order and
get $100 refund, I would only get $12 refunded to me. The handing fees $9.95
are not to be refunded.

He would have to pay me 170 dollars, in perspective,

As explained, he would have to pay you $170. You have to pay shipping costs to
return the product, and PayPal would then give you a whole refund of your initial
payment: $85

  19
isn't it
so much, or is it?

When it comes to your NSS, seller can show that the outcome of PayPal claim,
whatever it is, and bricklink would close the NSS in favor of seller. Bricklink
has clearly explained that they would do so. You would only waste the seller's
time to submit documents and that of Bricklink's help desk.

You don't seem unreasonable but here there are many aspects I can talk about,
based on my
own buying and selling experience. But that may talk 30 minutes to explain them
and much more to write them down

Some random notes:
- many people may somehow disagree with what I write here but I know many well-established
stores who only give partial refund for their mistakes (cost of the head plus
part of shipping costs). Many good sellers don't ship to Brazil because of
its high risk. Don't tell there is no high risk as you already expect your
import taxes refunded and the shipping costs were high
Many sellers don't ship abroad for this reason.
So there is a high risk the buyer may be unsatisfied if a mistake occurs.
I personally get stressed if I receive an order from Brazil and would want to
make sure what I send is 100% correct by triple checking everything.
- there is a learning curve in buying. When I submit an order from abroad consisting
of multiple items , I write to seller something like: "Hello,... Item X
and Y are vital for my order. Could you please double check them before sending?"
or "Item X has two variations. I ordered variation X1. Since many sellers
confused them in my past orders, would you mind to send me a photo to make sure
what you will send is what I expect... Thanks".
In your case, you could have written "would you mind to send me a photo of
the two minifigs. I think it is better to make sure they are correct because
the shipping costs are high and the import fees will be about the total cost."
And I would expect photos for only vital parts in an order, not for common parts.

Recently, I ordered a few parts from a good seller in UK. I wrote him/her something
like "this part is vital, the single reason I am ordering. Please make sure
you have it and it is in good condition". The order came and the part was
correct but 2 lots (out of 8lots and in total less than 20 pieces) were missing
or incomplete and one of them was a rare part that I needed to. I wrote him/her
and got only a partial refund for that. No refund for shipping costs. I was 100%
satisfied and left a positive feedback.

- as it comes to your negative feedback, one thing to have in mind: if you leave
many negative/neutral feedbacks, other sellers can see what you have left and
may thing you are a high risk buyer and stop-list you.
- many mistakes can happen in listing, picking-up, and shipping an order. Mistakes
may happen often. As to confirm this, maybe 100-200 people read your thread and
one of them had made the same exact mistake (but found out and corrected before
shipping). If a seller give you the refund you expect, he would keep losing money
and guess what? It won't be able to continue selling or has to increase prices,
remove certain countries or all international shipping, to reduce his/her risk.

My suggestion:
- I would accept the refund of the head + part of shipping costs (is that like
$10?). Remove the NSS and retract that negative feedback. This would be a simple
solution for a small matter and I think you won't get anything better via
PayPal/NSS but only waste your and his time.

Hopefully you can buy this head from another seller (along with other parts)

EU VAT will be collected by BrickLink. The buyer is responsible for any customs
dues or duties.

Make sure to send the BL IOSS number electronically, or your buyer could get
charged VAT again.

Highly suggest a service like Pirate Ship's Simple Export Rate (chat with
their customer service to enable this).

Can you explain the BL IOSS number? We're do I find that and how do I send
it electronically?

of that item. What you’d normally see when the “Retain items in store inventory
after items are sold out” is activated within store listings.

It happens from time to time.

It seems related to the instant payment feature.

Just before the buyer's trying to pay, BrickLink moves the order items to
stockroom so no one can buy them while the buyer's is on PayPal for example.

This can last up to 10 minutes as what I've heard, don't know where.
So the buyer can make a few trials if he doesn't manage to fully pay immediately...

When paid, the quantity of the items is ajusted accordingly to the order, and
the items are "un-stockroomed".

But apparently from time to time, or when the quantity falls to zero, those
cannot be "un-stockroomed" because quantity==0.

So they remain in stockroom with quantity==0.

This is normally purged at midnight EDT, and/or if you active the corresponding
feature in your shop settings...

I see. Thank you.

Though now I'm left wondering why it's the first time for us then

Thanks again, in any case.

Hi 1001bricks,
could you share the .obj file you tried?

In Related Software, 1001bricks writes:
  In Related Software, SylvainLS writes:

* create or import the lDraw in Leocad,
* export as Wavefront (.obj),
* import in PD,
* export to Studio.

Same with Hose ribbed IIRC.

Weird bug - and yes, it's not the proper place about this
If you know why, no need to start a thread for so few

of that item. What you’d normally see when the “Retain items in store inventory

In all our years operating as a vendor here, we’ve used that feature on a handful
of specific listings only, rarely iow. But every listing within this morning’s
order with zero remaining, linked to a stockroom listing of said item. I knew
straight away what the issue was, that the feature had been activated over all
of our inventory. After processing the order, I simply went into our inventory
management page and reset it.

Really don’t know how the change occurred other than not by us. First off, I’m
hardly on that page anymore. Secondly, as said; we've never used that feature
in that manner before. Maybe last night’s update/maintenance or some other event,
who knows

This interrupts how we utilize the very useful Stockroom feature here on BrickLink.
So yeah, perhaps more salient an issue for us than maybe some other vendors.

Nonetheless, just a heads-up to check yours

I know that you have to have at least one shipping method selected to open your
store.
They would have had to remove it after opening? Strange indeed!

I entered the cart today to find that there were "No shipping methods available"

to ship. I tried emptying the cart and putting other things into it only to come
up with the same result.
I then happened to notice this store has been open for a month with a good quantity
and in demand pieces, yet has no feedback, probably because any carts made came
to the same screen as me.
Do some members simply take the shipping methods off their store instead of just
closing it when they want a break?
Does anyone have any idea what is going on here, LOL.

jamesgregurich must not of set them up yet. I would just send them a message
asking them to setup their shipping methods.

My problem is that he wasn't flexible, as he was the one who made the mistake,
I think he could have asked what I wanted to do.

I'll tell you how I wanted to resolve this, I wanted the price of the head
plus shipping price. My purchase was two minifigs, the wrong one was about 60%
of the total purchase. I already ordered the head, it cost a total of 19 dollars
(and this amount should not include taxes). My order for it cost 85, plus about
another 85 with tax. He would have to pay me 170 dollars, in perspective, 19
isn't it
so much, or is it?

Why are you paying 100% of the order value in tax?

  Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a wide variety of minifigures, could be more pieces of
the same model, but mostly I want a lot for a project (male, female, different
jobs etc) it's tedious to search to find a store that has a lot of pieces
and at a price that's not too high (ideally 1-2 USD max per piece)

Also I'm in Romania so a seller in the EU would be great

Do you have any tips on how to better search for what I'm looking for?

In short, built a wanted list of all figures you might find interesting and set
a max price on each.

I would start by downloading the catalog at https://www.bricklink.com/catalogDownload.asp?utm_content=subnav
Secondly, use a spreadsheet like Excel to filter the Duplo figures you are potentially
interested in, set a max price and transform your list into a wanted list xml.
Then upload the xml in Bricklink and use the various wanted list search and buy
functions.

HI everybody,

as I have too many LEGO but too less space I´d like to start a new system - but
therefore i have to sell my whole bricklink shop.

Actually there are more than 16.000 lots and about 350k part, 98% is used.
shop worth average sold is 50k by 500 errors so approx 60k €

What is a price i could ask for or maybe there are some resellers interested
in something like that.

As i have many instructions and boxes, picking up might be the best idea, but
everything is possible.

Just tell me your thoughts about a reasonable price

regards
Pierre

The three options were to return everything for a full refund and I have to prove
that I paid taxes, or to return just the wrong minifigure, or to accept 10 US
dollars as compensation.

I've been looking at some parts I desperately need and the only seller appears

If anyone can help, drop me a message. I've tried contacting the seller,
but to no avail.

Thank you.

maybe try "myUS", they have shipping forwarding address in both Europe
and America when you open a paid account ($10 USD a month)

Maybe I could help? I am in Romania so the shipping price from here to Canada
is at least 40-45 CAD. But I have the time so if you need, I can help you

Well actually they do look a little thinner...but still if they were just stretched
out from use, what were they used for that stretched them out and kept them circular?
I don't deal in used belts. I sell round ones that were in a sleeve or
bag and football shaped ones that were on a belt holder. I would expect a band
that was permanently misshapen by use to be something other than round.

  Hello,

I have made various orders lately, and two were for the same item, x71 - Rubber
Belt Small (Round Cross Section) - Approx. 2 x 2

Sometimes these come in a box, sometimes taken out, both sellers had them listed
as new, I have left feedback for both, but on closer inspection they are either
different parts or have one set been used?

The one on the right is definitely, x71, the one on the left I am not sure. Any
ideas? thanks

I feel pretty confident that those were not manufactured the same size. Do you
have a kitchen scale that measures decimals of grams? You can stretch the diameter
of a rubber belt some, but you can't stretch the weight and those larger
ones don't look thinner.

Rubber belts were handled poorly for many years. Randy and I have cleared a
lot of it up, but work remains. Bricklink only has PCC for the smallest white
belt and almost every white belt is

Part No: x71 Name: Rubber Belt Small (Round Cross Section) - Approx. 2 x 2
*
x71 Rubber Belt Small (Round Cross Section) - Approx. 2 x 2
Parts: Rubber Band & Belt
. x37, x89, and x90 are all in inventories
in white and probably a lot of that is incorrect. But we can see from service
pack 9961-1 that all 4 probably exist (I say probably because we can see there
are 4 sizes, but maybe they aren't actually the same part as they've
been identified as, which are usually red, blue, and yellow.)

I would say one of your sellers got ahold of one of the mysterious ones and assumed
they were x71 because they were white.

I don't think the diameter can change that much, even with a lot of use.
So I would guess they are not the same item. I don't know enough about rubber
bands though to say whether that much difference could be due to different production
runs, or if one of them is not Lego.
Just my 2c...

I am usually very careful before "taking sides". And even more before
"shaming" a person (buyer or seller) or store.

It's obvious sending the wrong part must be corrected by the seller. That's
without a doubt.

But we don't know the full story. Elements that are open to be able to fully
assess the situation (which is not up to us, to be honest) could be:
- OP mentions 3 options offered by the seller. Which are they? Maybe they are
actually quite reasonable.
- OP mentions "arrogant manner". This could be, but it's a subjective
interpretation. It doesn't make it so per definition. Maybe the seller doesn't
speak English as primary language. I don't either. This can result in some
unintended interpretation / lost in translation issues.
- Was the order only that minifig, or is the minifig part of a bigger order?
If so, what is the minifig's value in % to the total order?
I don't want the answer to these questions, as it's basically something
between buyer and seller to hopefully come to an agreement. But I'm just
saying there are usually multiple angles to look at a certain situation.

Personally, if I was the seller in such case, I would refund the part and shipping
costs (+ import taxes, if they can be proven that they were paid). I did refunds
with loss (for me) in the past, because I judged it was my fault and the buyer
should be compensated without any loss. Any wrongfully sent item, they could
keep. Loss for me. "Make mistakes, get better." lesson for me as well!

But as a seller, I can not get into the demand of a buyer saying "it's
my obligation to get him/her the part that was ordered without any other option".
That would involve me basically going into dropshipping. Or a whole fuzz with
me ordering, receiving, reviewing, repackaging, reshipping, ... I think that
goes beyond a reasonable scope for a seller.
Do take note I have gone through this trouble as a seller, but that was in the
situation a used set (sold as complete) missed a part or two. I could've
chosen to refund in full, or to make sure the set got completed at the buyer.
I did the latter, because a refund in full was far more expensive as me completing
the set.

Thanks, so the ones on the right are new, and the ones on the left are the same
product but used?

Both large rubbers it seems to be used and they are stretched out. Look at them,
their curves are irregular.
