LEGO® Account integration goes live tomorrow, September 18th, 2025, and
we understand that those of you with BrickLink stores may have concerns about
how this integration will impact your business.
We've put together a list of the most frequently asked questions from our
sellers — including information about nicknames, store names, and Insider Points
— to help you better understand how the integration will affect your store.
Can I change a LEGO account that I merged with my BrickLink one in the future?
Yes. To do that, you will need to register the new LEGO.com account and reach
out to customer service to undo the merge.
What happens to my LEGO Insiders points after I merge my LEGO and BrickLink
accounts?
If you merge your LEGO Account with a BrickLink buyer account or a seller account
that is not a registered business, you will still be able to keep using your
Insider Points for LEGO.com purchases.
So, if you’re a business seller on BrickLink, make sure you merge your seller
account with a new LEGO Account not associated with your LEGO Insider Points.
This will allow you to keep earning and spending your points as usual.
Please note Insider points can’t be used for purchases on BrickLink.com.
What if I’m an individual who owns a registered business? How can I integrate
my existing LEGO Account and BrickLink account, considering these revised terms?
If you already have a LEGO Account that you participate in the LEGO Insiders
program with as a private person, you can continue to use it as long as it isn’t
linked to your BrickLink account.
You can create a second LEGO Account with a different email address to link to
BrickLink and continue selling without engaging in the LEGO Insiders program.
What do you mean by store name? Are you referring to my store’s display name
or its store URL?
When we refer to a store name, we mean the store’s display name.
If my nickname changes, will it also change my store URL?
If your LEGO Account nickname is different from your existing BrickLink username,
your store URL might change when your LEGO Account nickname becomes your name
on BrickLink. We'll have more information on this when the time comes.

I’m asking because if you (BL/LEGO) are proactive in looking if I’m a registered
business, you’ll find I am.
I’m not registered to buy and sell LEGO but I’m still registered on my name as
an “auto-entrepreneur / Entreprise Individuelle.”
And I have a seller account on BL, not because I want to be but because of the
role hierarchy (can’t be a moderator as a buyer).
So I wouldn’t want to be kicked out of both BL and LEGO next time I use my Insiders
points because you (BL/LEGO) can’t read French registrations but still act on
them.

What if a store at their discretion decides to list as a non registered business,
will they be required to limit the amount of sales they have per month or year
or will BrickLink or The Lego Group impose limits on sales? Or could Lego possibly
decide in the future to close down stores that are not registered as a business?
These questions are really important in order to make the right / correct decision
on how to proceed. I look forward to your answers.

As the cool down period when you change your nickname is 30 days, we suppose
your old nickname is reserved for the same duration (in case you want to revert

Some are theorizing it’s for 30 days, similar to how long it takes to change
your username again, I had to change it to something different last minute so
it would at least resemble something similar so I have to wait for the count

I've seen all of Lego.com regress to code item names like this several times.
It'll fix itself at some point.
So, if you’re a business seller on BrickLink, make sure you merge your seller
account with a new LEGO Account not associated with your LEGO Insider Points.

Why is this communicated a day before the integration going live?!

Wonderful, I've just created a second LEGO account, changed the nickname
of my main one from rankster to Rankster Bricks and now I can't change my
second one - which I created for BL - to rankster since it says nickname is already
taken. The whole process is a bad joke, seriously!

Here's another issue. Help page says:
"Your LEGO.com email will become your primary account email. This will be
the email address you’ll receive notifications at after you merge accounts."
So as mentioned I created a second LEGO.com account just to be able to still
collect insider points as a private person who runs a BL store as an entrepreneur
but after the integraion I'll receive all BL order and payment related emails
on that second email address?
If so I'd rather let go of the insider points but would keep using my main
email address.

There is a delay before you can reuse the nickname. But how long is it? One
month?
It’s very nice of them to have waited so long to tell us….
You are telling us -- a whole seller community already historically wary
of any kind of Lego.com / BrickLink interaction -- despite the previous information
that there was no longer any worry about getting banned or other bad consequences,
that now there IS actually a big problem.
?!?!
-----------------------------------
This is what the account merge means to store owners on BrickLink to date:
We don't have the ability to reserve our store names. Our only defense is
sacrificing our historical usernames to be sure we can keep doing business as
we are currently known. This means also sacrificing our existing store URLs.
When we do try to reserve our business names as usernames, many are rejected
haphazardly and one must know to 'appeal' at least twice before the decisions
adhere to your own published guidelines.
We have to use the same email now from a site where we shop and a site where
we run our businesses. 'Registered' businesses cannot use a personal
account linked to Lego.com.
We will now be represented on the site by a generic Lego minifigure instead of
our store logos that we created and chose and are recognized by.
Duplicate accounts are now allowed and, apparently, members may be able to create
duplicate accounts to bypass store bans and poor feedback history.
------------------------------------
I reserved my username jennnifer when first instructed to do so. It is, understandably,
linked to the personal account on Lego.com I had at the time. I guess that it
going away because my only defense to maintain my shop name and my shop email
was to create a entirely new Lego account. Now, it seems that is the account
I will be using indefinitely.
In your attempt to have a 'single sign on', I now to have to maintain
multiple accounts. This is not right.
It's just not a good day to be a seller here. or really a member here.

Well, I don't want that, I still want to receive all my BL related emails
to my main email address not my alternative one used for LEGO.com only.
So it seems the only option if we want to keep receiving BL notifications to
our main emails, we need to merge with that email but then we won't get insider
points as "business" anymore.

Somewhat logical if you’re a registered business who sells LEGO, as you (already)

I have to say.... If Lego is not keen on Business sellers earning insider points
well that's fine, I guess! but would have been nice to have been given this
info earlier than a few hours before the merger?
As a business seller my main concern is ensuring my business account has merged
correctly so I certainly don't want to start creating new accounts until
that process is complete and I'm happy even if it means losing some upcoming
insider points in the process, However Looks like I better get using any insider
points I already have tonight then by the sounds of it, Great!
Does this merger mean that Bricklink staff is finally going to start replying
to 2-3 month old requests for VAT refunds due to failure to register shipments
properly to Norway?
I think I'm up in 15-20 orders now, maybe more, which Bricklink owes me VAT
refund for.

No, this is not a “merger,” it’s an “integration” of the account systems. All
the rest stay separated.
… Though, customer service has already been “merged” for some time (years).
Just when the Help Desk had managed to reduce the answer time to a few days.
In any case, they’ll never answer you on VAT anyway.
I thought I had to change my nickname on lego.com to meet my username here on
BL, which I promptly did.
But now I learn that doing that I will loose my Insiders Points?
And so I have to change my nickname again, say, to my previous one, and also
change my email address on lego.com to be able to keep Insider Points?
Also I will have to create a new account on lego.com linked to BL, with the username
and email address of my BL account?
Is that it?
That's the thing as everyone was advised to take early action securing their
account names so that they matched both on Bricklink and on Lego now the complete
opposite is being advised if you want to keep Insider Points?
At this stage your probably better off just doing what I did and using any Insider
points you still have left while we wait to see what happens after the merger!

The deadline for the merge is December 2025, is that correct?
And if one doesn't merge, then they will delete one's BrickLink account?
Now the only missing question is if we can merge the accounts at any day in that
time frame or if we will not be able to login to Bricklink without doing the
merge at that same moment.

time frame or if we will not be able to login to Bricklink without doing the
merge at that same moment.
So what do you reckon? One should create a new lego.com account with BL's
email and username ASAP?
You can’t reuse your BL username as nickname if it’s already in another LEGO
account. It stays reserved for some time (we don’t know how long; 1 month?).
Yes, I changed my lego username back to the original lego username yesterday.
I've also changed my email address there.
So I now can use my BL username and BL's email address, correct?
(Well, last time they didn't let me use my BL's username because of the
dots so I will actually have to tweak my BL's username here as well)

Not exactly. The nickname that was in your LEGO account is still reserved for
some undetermined time.

Is this the way to go?
It’s one way to go. I’ve no idea what’s the best way to go 🤷♂️
I’ll use my current LEGO account and I hope I’ll still be there when I’ll have
used my Insiders points in the future as I’m not a real seller and my (EU only?)
registration page has no info at all (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/mystore/registration.page
).

Too many uncertainties for me so I'm just gonna stick with allowing my existing
Lego account (with correct business name) merge with my Bricklink account as
planned

Yeah, in hindsight maybe I should have done the same.

The way its worded to me almost suggests that you only get one opportunity to
have a registered Insiders account that is linked to your name and address which
will potentially be lost forever if found to be linked to a business account
unless I assume you do as this announcement suggests which is to create new lego
account for business and instead leave existing account to become your personal
account where you continue to receive insiders....
Only why is there no mention of being able to create a new personal account and
sign up for insider points from fresh as that would seem the more logical approach
for keeping business name linked to your bricklink store? Really need some clarity
on this particular point?

My view:
1. You generally already have Insiders points on your existing account. (Not
everyone can hurry up and spend them.)
2. If the existing account is for your business… then it could mean you were
using Insiders points for your business. In other words, could past usage of
Insiders points be used against you? Fishy.

Yes I had also considered this as being the reason for their suggestion especially
given they may also appreciate that some people may end up losing points that
are still due from outstanding orders. However if this is the case I think they
need to word things more clearly with different steps to take to achieve different
outcomes. Only for me personally I’d happily sacrifice insiders for keeping my
business account properly linked but would still appreciate having the ability
to create an insiders account from scratch for well... Ahem lets be careful what
I say here “Personal Use”
2. If the existing account is for your business… then it could mean you were
using Insiders points for your business. In other words, could past usage of

Well yes it goes without saying that despite what might be in Legos terms for
receiving insiders points almost all businesses here who shop at Lego will currently
be receiving insiders points for certain stock that they are then selling for
business use rather than personal use and therefore are we now seeing what Lego
is attempting to more tightly enforce? and in which case why at the same time
offer a workaround suggestion to businesses?
None of this makes any sense?
So what do you reckon? One should create a new lego.com account with BL's

An alternative is to spend all the Insiders points that the existing account
has, merge that and create a new personal account (if you buy products for your
own use from them).

Yes, I thought of that right after changing my username there back to my lego.com's
former username.
So I think that the way to go from here is to create a new lego.com account and
merge it to BL's account ?

That's what I'll be doing (account on lego.com already created)
Welp, I merged my BL account with my Lego.com account and yet, my "nickname"
remains the same (despite my Lego.com account created specifically for this has
a different nickname).

Same here. I merged account but the username on bricklink did not change to the
one on the Lego account
I have some questions only the more I try to make sense of it all, the more confused
I become?
For starters, what's the point in Lego restricting Insider points to business
sellers when Bricklink openly encourages and allows a workaround where sellers
can continue to obtain insider points using a second personal account?
How will Lego determine a business seller from a private seller?
Then reading this bit:-
“So, if you’re a business seller on BrickLink, make sure you merge your seller
account with a new LEGO Account not associated with your LEGO Insider Points.”
Okay so I am a Business seller using the name ‘infinibrix’ My Lego account also
uses the name ‘infinibrix’ but apparently to keep obtaining Insiders points I
would need to create a new account name on Lego which will then replace my business
name on Bricklink after merger meaning I’m then left with a Lego Insiders personal
account taking my business name infinibrix? This whole thing just makes no sense
at all?
So if Lego wants to take away my insider points then "as a business"
they should not charge me sales tax. From my point of view, the insider points
offset some of the sales tax.
Now they are basically taking that away and still making me pay sales tax.

Unfortunately Connie I think the reality is.... If we take the best case scenario,
Lego are somewhat indifferent to the needs, success and existence of business
sellers and in the worst case scenario they probably don’t really want us to
exist at all. Therefore whilst they no doubt accept businesses will still manage
to survive here, I get the distinct impression they almost certainly have little
interest in doing anything that will help enable them to thrive!
The removal of our store I.D card business Legos and identities, is to me already
clear evidence of that. It's probably fair to say they see the marketplace
as a place for hobbyist and collectors to buy and sell what they have and need
rather than a place to setup business
if you are asking for people to create new accounts to migrate, you need to offer
the ability to transfer nicknames that had already been allocated to the original
account.
For a nickname to be removed, then unavailable to be reused isn't a good
solution for sellers.
We need to have priority nickname transfer.

Dear BrickLink® members,
LEGO® Account integration goes live tomorrow, September 18th, 2025, and
we understand that those of you with BrickLink stores may have concerns about
how this integration will impact your business.
What if I’m an individual who owns a registered business? How can I integrate
my existing LEGO Account and BrickLink account, considering these revised terms?
I wonder if other changes might be made to differentiate between business and
consumer accounts via Insiders accounts. for example, if they make it so that
you need to have an Insiders account to be able to get any Gift With Purchase
sets. They must surely be aware of the abuse of GWP offers that some businesses
are doing. I know of one business seller via facebook that claims to have 80
of the SEGA Genesis controller for sale and there are resellers on youtube showing
off hauls of them obtained through orders. LEGO must know these are business
accounts, and if they are blocking discounts for businesses by blocking Insider
points surely they ought to target the removal of those lucrative GWP as well.

Yes, there needs to be changes to the LEGO ToS to accommodate for that catch-22:
1. Companies can’t be Insiders, and can’t earn Insiders points.
2. Where the Insiders program is available, you can’t have a LEGO account without
being an Insider.
3. All BL accounts, including companies, need to a have a LEGO account.

So it was said we had until December 31st to merge accounts but now after the
maintenance when you go to the website it takes you to the Lego.com login and
we are forced to merge the accounts immediately...
It was also said that the username on the Lego account will become the username
on the BbrickLink account but I did not change for me. Its still the old one
that doesn't allow spaces.
Even the avatar on the Lego account is now different from the BrickLink account.
I thought it was supposed to be same generic avatar... If you are not going to
be consistent at least let us have our old unique aavatars back!

BL & LEGO never go back on anything.
And never fulfill promises. Almost one year since the new nav bar and it hasn’t
change a bit. Still no colours or anything.

As you can see my nickname on the Lego account is different from the Username
on BrickLink. I can't even choose the same avatar because it doesn't
exist on BrickLink.
They had years to plan this and they still mess it up, but honestly I am not
surprised.
I am surprised however by how easily (at least for me) it was to do the actual
merge.
