Hi, fairly new, sorry if I should know the answers to these. They relate to my
orders page, and keeping it current.

(1) I have one order where I have received the item, but the seller hasn't
updated it since "Packed". I've emailed to ask for it to be updated
to "Shipped" so I could then change it to "Completed" and file
it, but no response. I'd like to get it off my current orders page -any way
to do this?

(2) I have another order where I am waiting for the seller to send me an invoice.
Given the long delay, I've bought from someone else. I assumed I'd easily
be able to cancel the first order as I haven't even been invoiced, let alone
paid, but I can't see how (and to also get this off the current orders).

Many thanks in advance for any help.

John

For (1), there is not much you can do until the seller marks it as shipped. It
might be that they are away for Easter if you've had no reply.

For (2), the cancellation policy is here:

It is probably best to email the seller and ask them to cancel as it has been
too long and you have now bought from elsewhere. In future, it is best to cancel
before buying elsewhere in case the seller suddenly invoices you then they can
claim you are at fault.

I believe you can file the order no matter the status. There's no defined
rules for Order Status so don't expect all members here to use them the same
way.

Strictly speaking, you agreed to the purchase when you checked out. Of course,
common sense says you would be able to cancel the order. But actually, you have
to rely on the seller for that and it leaves you open for negative feedback.
The correct action would be to file an Non-Responding Seller action and then
follow through.

Be sure to read through feedback and terms of your sellers here very carefully
before you buy. It's an open marketplace and not everyone knows what they
are doing.

Good luck!

Thanks. If an order is marked ‘complete’ then a little box appears you can tick
which files it. There doesn’t seem to be a way to file it without the little
box!

On (2) noted. From a UK consumer law point of view, it’s fairly clear you can’t
be locked into a distance contract as a consumer where you don’t know the final
price (what if the seller tried to add a million pounds to the invoice for shipping?).
I accept I could be left negative feedback. I will file the non responding seller
query as you suggest. Thanks again

While this is true, it's also the case that if you change your mind and don't
want to go ahead, then the seller could hit you with a NPB - non paying buyer.
3 of these and you're buying privileges get revoked.
