Please be aware that Lego part #4252528 (Bricklink part #50898), a black 2x7
closed with Rounded ends has some incorrect info attached. If you look at what
sets it appears in, both Bionicles Antroz and Chirox show up on the list, but
this is not correct - they both have SQUARE ends and are Lego part #4519224.
The Antroz and Chirox sets should be removed from the list so there is no confusion
or false hope that they can be used as replacement pieces!

My complaint is that when you search this specific part, and then you click on
how many sets it "Appears In", that list is incorrect. This specific
part DOES NOT appear in Antroz or Chirox. ( I understand searching for alternates
and that's not what I want. I want to know what sets have this actual part).
So I am asking administrators to edit the "Appears In' list for this
rounded part, removing the sets that have square parts. No collector is going
to be happy with a rogue square alternate part on a set that originally has rounded
pieces.

To clarify a little - the original inventory in the manuals for Antroz and Chirox
have only square ended parts; they do not include any rounded parts. So if I
want to poach a rounded 2x7 piece from Antroz because the list says this part
"Appears in" Antroz's set, my hopes will be dashed because I will
not find it this piece on him. I will only find square pieces. I'm trying
to prevent others from being misled and disappointed.

They shouldn't be disappointed if they understood the meaning of alternate
parts. The set came with either of them, so you cannot guarantee you have a specific
type if you opened a new set.

Well in this case we might not be sure if they did come with the rounded ones,
as they were all inventoried before the square parts were added to the catalog.

There is a very small chance of this, yes. But set
was inventoried about two months after the squared variant was added. So unless
this was an overlooked mistake, a 2008 set Bionicle Warriors has for certain
been seen with the rounded variant in black. It would therefore not be unexpected
to see that variant in other 2008 sets as well (e.g. Antroz and Chirox).
LEGO official data claims that the squared version was used in the sets in question
in later production runs, so that variant should be for certain. We can't
see official DATA for older production runs at this point.
Unless very strong evidence turns up, we won't change the variants for these
sets at this point. Like others have explained, variants work as they do on BrickLink,
and we can't change that either.

Then you'd need to do a deep dive in to the catalog and find sets where it's
not listed as an alternate. I think you might not be understanding the terminology.
Two sets from two different production runs can have two different pieces when
it comes to the alternate parts.
