Hi all. I have recieved an item in wrong coulor. The seller is not responding
to messages. Wbat csn i do? Thanks for your help.
Frankly it's simple, and complex.
1) Be sure it's an error. Colors can vary widly, ex Technic Yellow from lemon
yellow to almost orange, depending factories, eras, etc. Post here the picture
of the part if you're unsure?
2) What's the relative value of the problem compared to your order? If it's
5 cents on a $40 order, then personnaly I'd take a note of the seller and
move one, it may not be worth your time and energy.
3) Don't harrass with messages/e-mails. One or a couple is already enough.
Many people have weekends or are slow to communicate. A few days is common for
amateur shops or super busy high end ones.
4) If you waited enough and the value / loss is relatively important, then open
an NSS Alert. That will make the seller move and reply.
5) In all cases, you're free to put this shop in your Least favorites ones
and never buy there again. Which is the worst punition that can happen to a serious
shop.
But again, be sure it's worth the complain and please be comprehensive and
patient.
We'll need the others tolerance.

Said it before: we need a FAQ section in the forum to address recurring questions
like these. Your answer could fit perfectly.

We also need more information like the color the buyer ordered and a picture
of the actual item.
This would really be helpful for OP and responders.

Oh thank you!
And yes an FAQ. That'd make SylvainLS busy and less in forum! It's a
win-win situation!

And yes an FAQ. That'd make SylvainLS busy and less in forum! It's a
win-win situation!
Nope:
1. I wouldn’t be more or less busy because I can’t write a seller FAQ
2. Even if I were to write what I know, I already have a stock of pre-cooked
copy-pasta to answer questions. No work!
3. 99% of my copy-pasta is rehashing and linking to pages that the poster didn’t
find. An FAQ would be missed the same way and I’d still be here to copy-paste
the link to that FAQ.

An Onsite payment method is mandatory for BL to be able to collect the
taxes.
That means PayPal Onsite (not Paypal) or Stripe.
BrickLink collects taxes from the buyers in these situations:
— US Sales tax: most US buyers, when they buy from any seller for any amount,
— UK import VAT: UK buyers, when they buy from non-UK sellers for less than £135
(items total),
— EU import VAT: EU buyers, when they buy from non-EU sellers for less than €150
(items total).
— Australian GST: AU buyers, when they buy from non-AU sellers for less than
AU $1,000 (items total).
— New Zealand GST: NZ buyers, when they buy from non-NZ sellers for less than
NZ $1,000 (by item).
— Norway import VAT: NO buyers, when they buy from non-NO sellers for less than
NOK 3,000 (by item).
UK/NO/EU VAT and AU/NZ GST are directly paid by the buyer for other amounts.
Domestically (intra-UK, intra-NO, intra-EU, intra-AU, or intra-NZ), it’s handled
by the sellers when necessary.

Maybe that’s why lego bought it! They are leaving the toy industry and pursuing
their true passion! A second hand restaurant!
“Second hand restaurant”? 🤔
Selling pre-vomited food?
IOW, a fast food?
Tbh maybe I was thinking about the thing we have a lot (to a a point) of here
in Canada where when a restaurant has leftovers at the end of the day they are
purchased/given away to food banks and such so it dosnt go to waste aka second
hand food. Tho not to sure how well the description would work and yours might
be more accurate 😅

The Timmy’s in T-Bay always donates all the leftover baked goods to the local
homeless shelters. Better that than to waste it.

It is quite easy and, with my shortness of IT, there are 2 options I am doing.
1) take a picture with some more distance, not too much, keep an eye on details
and cut the picture to size.
2) send the picture by phone to your email, your e-mail program might ask to
send it unchanged or in reduced size.

There’s free websites where you can upload your image and resize it.
Just search for “resize image” (in your own language too!) and you’ll find many
of them.
As for the forum:
1. The file size is limited to 2 MBytes. Cameras (& smartphones) can make files
way bigger than that nowadays.
Changing the format (lossless .png to lossy .jpg) can reduce the file size but
you generally need to resize the image.
Also choose the smaller definition / camera on your phone to start with: no need
to use the 96 Mpixels lens when the image will end up as 0.5 Mpix
If the file is too big, it won’t be accepted.
2. The final width is limited to 640 pixels but you can upload bigger images.
If you do upload a bigger image, the site will resize it.
But doing it yourself generally leads to better (less blurry) results. Especially
if you crop your image before.
3. There’s a bug: the site chokes on some files. Even when they are the right
size. Changing the format (png ←→ jpg) may help.
