Fairly regularly items in the catalog get a new ID. Sometimes, the item can still
be located when searching for the old ID, but often searching for the old ID
doesn't pull up the item anymore. This is a nuisance when searching back
in old orders (especially older than 6 months). An example is the recently changed
item 80547bpb01. This was changed to

2358pb04 Baseplate, Road 32 x 32 7-Stud Straight with Road with Green Lines and White Sidelines Pattern Parts: Baseplate, Road
When you pull up the change log, it shows the old ID. Is there a way to search
for these "old" item IDs?

80547pb01 is listed as the alternate item number for the part, so it can be searched
for like any other item number.

Thank you! This was exactly what I was looking for. The example I gave was a
bad one. A better one would have been 2958pb014 - that one doesn't show up
in the regular part search, but does in the "log" search.

2723 can’t have 2958 as an alternate ID because 2958 was in a game of musical
chairs: 2958 became 2723 but 2745 became 2958.
Maybe Design IDs shouldn’t have been guessed or made up….
