So I can't approve this request and I suggest you recheck the 7 old variants
you listed in your store. I'm pretty sure they all have this sprue mark in
the center of the seat.
If you can prove I'm wrong, please add an image of the 7 chairs to this thread.

Hi
Nice found.
Can you take a picture of the bottom?
(with the partnumber and moldnumber on)

Thanks for the additional image. That's a new mold. I just checked some of
the seats 4079 in sets in my collection from 2004-2006 and the underside looks
different. So they made a new mold and removed the center sprue mark after 16
years.
Plus, the variant without the sprue mark was phased out around 2008-2009, so
an old mold with (c)2009 (without the sprue mark) wouldn't make sense.

Very interesting find, thanks for sharing this!
So, what to do with this new/old mold?
Both 4079 and 4079b have 4 small circles on the bottom.
4079 doesn't show a (c) year
4079b started without a (c) year and 'ended' with (c)1978
This new mold doesn't have these 4 circles at the bottom, shows (c) 2009,
but has the molding pip back on the stud (like 4079) instead of inside this ugly
sprue (like 4079b). This change however was the reason of making a new entry
with center sprue.
Strange use of copy right years btw, using it after the mold is changed.

So, what to do with this new/old mold?
We use the old entry again. There is no important difference between the new
and the old mold without the sprue mark.
So I can't approve this request and I suggest you recheck the 7 old variants
you listed in your store. I'm pretty sure they all have this sprue mark in
the center of the seat.

That's a newer mold. I just checked a couple sets from 2021, and they have
the sprue mark and older mold numbers. It look like they have gone back to molding
it differently again.

Hi
As Gary always says: Lego never throws anything away.
* Delete 7 Part 4079b Blue Minifigure, Utensil Seat / Chair 2 x 2 with Center Sprue Mark
* Add 7 Part 4079 Blue Minifigure, Utensil Seat / Chair 2 x 2
You can resubmit your change request, but this time please do not remove 4079b,
for the inventory submitter confirmed that this variant came in this set.
You can add the old variant 4079 as alternate item for 4079b, with match-id 1.
Next time it would be better to check first if the current variant really should
be deleted and add some comments and / or images to your change request. Especially
in rare cases like this.
