I've created (pending) items for the contents of gear: snowkit01 and snowkit02.
Originally, I was thinking that gear wasn't normally assigned a color, but
now I see that there are actually similar items where color is assigned (i.e.
gear 853870). Wondering if this is a case where most of these items should have
a color assigned instead of having color in the name of the item? I'm imagining
a hopeful future where Lego creates more of these upscaled parts in other colors.
Perhaps it gets trickier when an item consists of multiple parts/colors permanently
attached, as in pending gear: UpscaledFlag
I originally took my cue from items: 851400, 853465, 853637, 853439, 853709 all
being different colors / decorations of what otherwise appears to be the same
item.
Just starting to make some catalog contributions, and probably getting into the
weeds. But just want to be consistent.

"Gear should only be assigned colors when the item is a solid color or one predominant
color and the item exists in multiple colors within the same catalog entry."
So for now your submissions are okay. The entries can still be adjusted if more
of these parts show up in different colors in the future.
And yes there are some older items in the catalog (like the cups) which could
maybe be merged into one entry, but it's not a priority right now.
