I'm trying to understand from where this minifigure came from but I cannot
find any set of the new wave with Mando only with the jet pack.
75312 and 75315 has Mando but with the normal cape.

I thought that minifigures not yet released couldn't be included in the catalogue
(as the entire set are).
This could create confusion.

Historically, it hasn't applied to the components of unreleased sets, such
as minifigs, even polybag minifigs. That's arguably what BL is about, the
components (parts) more so than the set anyway.
And sellers are well motivated to be among the first to list such new, exciting
and for the moment hard-to-get items, at a premium before needing to adjust prices
downward as the market saturates with competing listings. Playing on a part of
our human nature that pushes for instant-gratification, the gotta have it
now.
Then again, much of marketing and sales is developed around our immutable nature.
This could create confusion.

Ok, but since there aren't any kind of instructions that can confirm the
accuracy of the inventory how we can be sure that when the set will be released
we will don't need to delete this minifigure and change it with the correct
one?

I don't know.
But it's not a mistake... Unless a practice that's been ongoing for quite
sometime (as long as I can remember) can be considered a "mistake". Several minifigs
in the line of The Bad Batch have multiple listing from various vendors,
without their yet-to-be-released set assignments, or inventories: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=M&catString=65.1153
as it is in other lines, of other themes.
Maybe more or better informed members will correct the info I'm offering
you. It's just my take, iow.

I've only just spotted this thread so apologies for creating a commotion.
It's built correctly according to the instructions but just mistakenly approved
with some other SW minifigures released 1st August.
No policy has changed

Good to know.
It’s been commonplace for so long here, I assumed it a practice-irrespective-policy
type of thing.
Thanks for setting it (me) straight. It’s actually something that’s nagged me
over the years, especially the n/a inventory aspect of such listings.
The gotta have it now attitude applies equally to sets. It seems weird to stop
the sale of a box of components before they are officially released but allow
the sale of the very same components.

It was a mistake to release this minifigure early by the team. That's all
it was. There is no need to look for more devious intents or assume that our
long-standing rules will change.

I wasn't looking for any devious intent. I was replying to this ...
Historically, it hasn't applied to the components of unreleased sets,
such
as minifigs,
... which I thought I had quoted but must have deleted the whole paragraph.
This is wrong, isn't it? I thought minifigs were held back until the official
release date, the same as sets.
