I purchased a Bricklink store which is now out of business and I have the CSV
inventory file however I can't figure out a way on either Bricklink or Brickstore
to perform a mass upload. Im sure others have faced this challenge before and
seeking guidance.

Thanks in advance.

In Selling, yorbrick writes:

Nearly every used set is less valuable than the sum of its parts. However, if
it sells, then the set sells in one go. Whereas some parts can take ages to sell,
if at all. Even though the listing value of parts may look good, don't assume
they will all sell.

Depends on the set too. OP, this is why you need to use the price guide to see
what's worth it.

Set No: 10185 Name: Green Grocer
*
10185-1 (Inv) Green Grocer
2335 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 2008
Sets: Creator: Creator Expert: Modular Buildings Collection
and

Set No: 10224 Name: Town Hall
*
10224-1 (Inv) Town Hall
2733 Parts, 8 Minifigures, 2012
Sets: Creator: Creator Expert: Modular Buildings Collection
Almost price identically for
parting out and selling as a whole set. So if you can make the same amount of
money either way, it's better to sell them as a set if for anything than
the value of your time. Not all sets go that way though, those two are retired.
What about something that's still in production like:

Set No: 75290 Name: Mos Eisley Cantina
*
75290-1 (Inv) Mos Eisley Cantina
3090 Parts, 21 Minifigures, 2020
Sets: Star Wars: Master Builder Series: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6

As a (presumably complete) used set _sells_ for $293 on average but parting it
out as used is averaging $504 over the past six months... But that does not
mean you're going to sell all 3000+ parts over the next couple of months.
It could take years to completely sell all of the items.

Do a little research and then contemplate how long you're willing to store
a set or hundreds of thousands of parts. You can do both.

Just read an article declaring the very real possibility of AI chatbots being
able to guide us in controlling our lucid dreams, foremost in order to explore
lost memories. Can you imagine the potential in that, I hardly can. Not just
the for the obvious therapeutic benefits, but the possibility of accessing more
of the remaining 86% (on average) of the human brain never before utilized.

The potential of building neural networks into that vast region of virgin space,
considering that the utmost complex entity known, still is the human brain. Imagine
then the possibilities of using more of it.

Though don't know just how close that achievement practically is, they're
somewhat vague with that info. But just the idea of it seriously being explored...

Going to pull a later incoming order, before exploring that lucid dream control

~Goodnight

I can see that being used for brainwashing in the future.

Very good point. Thought about that too. But after pondering the article, decided
to focus instead on the better angels of our character

I hope this is used for good, but with all the evil people in the world I’d rather
not control my dreams(not worth the potential loss.)

And btw, not that it would assuage your concerns much, but just to be fair: the
article spoke of it's use as a "guide" to aide an individual in controlling
their own dreams in search of so-called 'lost' memories, basically suppressed
memories. Actually very exciting potential in this application of AI, when/if
we ever get there

In search of lost memories? Why is my big question, is all this really necessary?

If we're beginning there, with that question, you'll need to first do
some work yourself in understanding the significance of accessing suppressed
memories, especially to the mental health profession. Which is just a starting
point for such a consequential technology, should it be realized.

You raised a disturbing possibility given it's potency in the wrong
hands, understandable. But now imagine that same potency in other hands making
ours lives better, advancing humanity. Powerful tools are not to be feared if
human nature is fully understood, imho.

Take care now

I like your positivity towards the idea, and I would be excited too, but with
the state of leadership and the crookedness of the mental health profession I
can’t see this going too far in the right direction. I really wish it could
just be used for good but it unfortunately won’t be.😔

It’s just like the guy back in the 80’s who figured out how to make a vehicle
go 1000 miles on 1 gallon of diesel, what happened to him? He mysteriously died,
and his idea was censored.

Hi there,

I don't often chime in, but read the forums voraciously on a daily basis.

I take exception to the blanket generalized statement of "the crookedness
of the mental health profession."

As a registered nurse working in pediatric psychiatry, I and my colleagues hold
ourselves to a high standard of care and carry an appreciation and understanding
for the lives and context of the children and families that we connect with on
a daily basis. It is an imperfect system because there are imperfect humans
involved (on both sides of the healthcare process), but it is a profession to
which I am proud to work in.

Thanks,
Cristoforus

Nearly every used set is less valuable than the sum of its parts. However, if
it sells, then the set sells in one go. Whereas some parts can take ages to sell,
if at all. Even though the listing value of parts may look good, don't assume
they will all sell.

Thanks for the advice. I guess that's why some try to go to other places
to sell bulk for $5+ per Lbs.

set condition to used and then see. tho parts can be worth more and some will
sell faster then complete sets it will take a lot more work and lots more time
if you want to sell it all so if your looking for significantly less work then
selling as complete sets is the route to go.

I don't mind taking the extra time and work. I just don't want to be
in a situation where I sell something for a fraction of it's value only to
find later it would have sold for more in the other way.

Believe me: if you put things in cart and wait to add some some, soon enough
(hours or even minutes), you'll see the dreaded OUT-OF-STOCK message.

every order "parked as a cart" shrinks, shrinks, shrinks!

To get bigger orders:
- provide an "open order" method to make us order & pay in partial, then
we continue shopping.

This is exactly the reason why I believe Bricklink should encourage and put more
emphasis towards quoting and make it a more accepted and viable option. Sellers
enabling quotes should be forced to allow buyers to secure their stock for a
set amount of time.

Even easier - I created a manual Shipping Method "Leave my order opened",
and I allow people to progressively add to their order for a month or more...

So really not a problem BrickLink have to solve.

I have never specified a box as MISB, not ever. Recently a buyer tried to tell
me that "Factory sealed in original box" meant I was claiming it was
MISB. 🤦‍♀️

When buyers begin to assign meanings that were never stated/intended, that's
when it is time to look out for the falling sandbag from above.

I tend not to describe the box at all. That is what the (new, sealed) condition
is for. Unless there is any damage, then I'd note it.

I never really know what people mean by MISB. Do they mean the parts are mint
inside the box, or that the box is mint, or that the box is in a sealed shipping
box?

It means mint in sealed box. I think

Mint is a plant that grows in my garden, it's nothing to do with box conditions.

I see
I feel like New Unopened Box would work as a replacement.
Wait is Nubs_Select a person who SELECTS NEW UNOPENED BOXES?

But he read the disclaimer "WARNING: may contain LEGO(tm) Parts"

Lego orders are complex and often require time and rational thinking. IC only
creates an environment for panic buying and smaller orders since there is rarely
opportunity to browse and add to orders that have already been paid for which
is detrimental to buyers, sellers and even Bricklink themselves

Hi. I have lots of older part variations with comments noted under the part.
I also have several 1970s sets I have not listed yet.

Thank you.
