Hello, this has been bothering me for a while now, but several of the mask packs
listed either do not exist at all, or are listed with the wrong region.

For starters, the US/non-US distinction -- having spoken with several Canadian
BIONICLE fans about these, Canada had the boxed versions as well. Additionally,
LEGO's naming scheme uses the distinguishment of "IN" and "AM",
rather than "NA" or "US", which leads me to believe that they
were available in both South and North America.

Considering that Connecticut became HQ for LEGO's activities in all of America
around 1998, this also tracks: https://www.lego.com/en-gb/history/articles/g-production-in-brazil/

Further-more, I have found no evidence of 8530, 8559, 8597, or 8600 existing

I'm not a lawyer, but would it be considered unfair competition if PaB was

I think LEGO has more opportunities promoting BrickLink longer term for both
New and Used pieces. I've had problems in orders from PaB which weren't
ideal for me, but from the LEGO perspective this is additional cost they have
to manage.

For Used pieces, promoting their support for BrickLink helps in environmental
sustainability through recycling of used bricks.

Not to mention that stores on BL can not have more than one physical location
from which they ship from.

Hi Team!

I know it's weekend, and you're on many other complicated things...

But please this is still a problem for shipping to UK.
Thank you.

In Taxes, 1001bricks writes:
  Hi BrickLink!

Following and having read tens of posts about this, with no clear reply...

One of our Shipping method (La Poste Delivengo) requires an EORI number to
ship to UK
.

This isn't the VAT-ID you provide in your "Your LEGO® BrickLink VAT invoice
UKxxxxx" PDF.

The VAT-ID is as GB+9 numbers, while EORI is GB+12/15 numbers.
I tested it here, and it's not valid as an EORI:
https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/check-eori-number

While SylvainLS wrote in Forum:
"EORI is for sellers who sell to EU on their own, not through a marketplace
like BL."

... maybe, but how La Poste would see it's BrickLink who takes care of the
VAT if I don't give them BrickLink's EORI number?

In short - please provide the EORI number in those documents, or/and in Help,
or even as a PM

For maybe a year it's mandatory I lose 5 to 10€ for each shipping
as I've to use a more expensive Shipping Method (La Poste Colissimo International)
instead, which doesn't - for now - requests specifically an EORI number.

Theorically it's required for any Shipping Method:

https://aide.laposte.fr/professionnel/contenu/brexit-au-1er-janvier-2021-les-nouvelles-formalites-douanieres-vers-la-grande-bretagne

Thank you!

I only ask this as the original Ghostbusters minifigs had their ID’s switched
from idea to gb (seems a sensible approach) but then why not the same for various
other minifigs where dedicated Theme I.D’s already exist such as TV Friends,
Back to the Future, Lord of the Rings and even basic themes like castle and pirates.
Drives me crazy not having them located under the same I.D format

I appreciate you! Unfortunately, only the second link opens for me

Both links work.

  and the solution
provided won't work. I actually gave that a go a day or so ago with no luck.
My computer won't let me open an older version of Studio (Version 2.1.7_6
and before which is what was mentioned in that forum).

Yeah, sorry I wasn’t clear: I pointed to the threads so you don’t feel alone
and for the confirmation of what I was saying (that is, same PC with different
versions of OS _or_ of Studio leads to different results), not for the workaround
(using an older version is not what I call a solution).

Now, trying Early Access or a version or two back may be worth it if you really
have no other solution/computer and must produce a PDF.

Bummer this happens every so often. Hoping someone has another idea for a workaround
on this!

If you make a post with your specs (macOS & Studio versions, hardware) in one
of the threads on the Studio forum, I’ll point it to the devs (and make them
cry again, like when the last report came after several months of silence).

So odd, it said I didn't have access before. It worked this go around, ha!

I always appreciate knowing I am not the only one so that you for that!

I tried downloading multiple of the older versions of 2023. No luck so far.

Here are my specs:
1. MacOS 13.5.1 (22G90)
2. I downloaded the most recent version of Studio to the oldest version from
2023. Deleted and redownloaded each time.
3. MacbookAir8,2
1.6 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5
8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Serial Number (system):FVFZWK4RLYWG

I initially had a customer service thread with Bricklink and they suggested posting
on here to see if anyone else had a solution, haha! I love your perseverance.

Thanks for your help

Hi Randy, actually the new mould is used in this way in the new Batcave set:
https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/batcave-shadow-box-76252

Where the Bats are attached upside down with the bar fixed all the way down the
hole. You can see how it looks here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kWNrn9p00I&t=177s

They must have used the old bats for the actual photos of the set then, because
the official photos show the bar sticking out on all of them.

I still don't think this is a part that is going to be split.

Cheers,

Hi Randy, actually the new mould is used in this way in the new Batcave set:
https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/batcave-shadow-box-76252

Where the Bats are attached upside down with the bar fixed all the way down the
hole. You can see how it looks here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kWNrn9p00I&t=177s

Seems they used the old bat for product photos then:

That's interesting! I ordered 4 bats last year from a Bricklink seller, and
only yesterday I realised that 3 are 'sticking out' and 1 is not. So
the Batcave is definitely not the first set when this new mould was used.

I've got some bags (unopened) from this set and wonder if there is a way

I'd like to sell them unopened, but obviously cannot see what is there to

Is there that information somewhere on Bricklink?

thanks in advance

SEAN

You could always look through the instructions, which are freely available from
Lego - https://www.lego.com/en-gb/service/buildinginstructions/search?q=10242
- they show what parts are in the bags (via the build process). It'll take
a while but that's probably the only way to know what's in each bag.

Many thanks - good suggestion

  Hi there,

I relatively new here. I started to explore some of the various bionicle moc
designs and they really intrigue me. It encouraged me to go and dig up my own
bionicle collection from when I was a kid.

A lot of these moc designs give new life to these characters and use a multitude
of parts. Sourcing parts is no problem, however as I am starting out I wanted
to know if there are any go to designs for a bionicle moc frame? I'm thinking
this might be a starting point and then I could tweak it as I begin to get more
comfortable with some design concepts.

I did try googling and there were a few but none really came with a list of parts
of clear instructions that would be necessary to recreate them.

You can freely download some Bionicle instuctions from Lego - https://www.lego.com/en-gb/service/buildinginstructions/search?q=bionicle
or use the skeletons of the Star Wars etc. Constraction/Buildable characters.
Those should help.

No. But I did get a new ISP a couple of days ago and currently have two as I
still have the old one in place for another day or so. If I connect through the
old one (and use the same browser), I get GBP by default when not logged in.
But the new one gives me INR, and reports my IP address is in Wales. Very strange.
Maybe the Welsh government have given up on the GBP and switched to Rupees instead!

You may have missed the news today… India has ousted leadership in GB and now
controls the area. Here is a news segment from our local news…

Well if ever the was a reason for bricklink to get a shift on with implementing
the use of other payment avenues now would be that time! This is barbaric!

I signed up for Sum Up just for UK use ~ https://www.sumup.com/en-gb/ it's
cheaper than Paypal and we used it at a show a couple of weeks ago, absolutely
no problem. I wish online venues would take this up.

Gamer? What are your specs on the rig then?

I've got a 3080 Ti, two 1 TB Samsung NVMe drives (I dual boot into Zorin
OS 16 and Windows 11), an i9-9900KF, and 32 GB DDR4 RAM @ 3200 MHz. Even bought
a 1440p 165 Hz curved monitor.

Thing is, I'm not much of a gamer. I thought I would be when I paid the high
prices for it. If I wasn't making decent money as a systems engineer, I'd
have sold it and bought a 75192 Millennium Falcon.

There you might find better help about specs, but I suspect the bottle neck is
your CPU.

Please add PCC 6306039 for the trans-black part 35294 / 57895 Glass for frame
1 x 4 x 6 in Trans-black (LEGO Trans-Brown) as this seems to be the number that
LEGO use on their Pick A Brick site.

Is this a bug in the store I need to tell the owner about? He's German and
I don't think he knows much English I don't want to bother him over a

It's possible that his store minimum buy is 25 while his minimum buy for
your country is 165.

What help do you need?

I would like to rebuild it in the stud.io program and I was wondering if anyone

You can already import the set into Studio, howeve some parts are not available
(stickers/patterned parts mainly).

It's simply a case then of putting the parts together, following the instructions.
Missing parts will be replaced by plain parts (without patterns/stickers).

Or do you want someone to actually build it for you too?

I found it very difficult to use flexible pieces

Everybody does. Studio is rather poor when it comes to these parts.

I've noticed a few other changes for CMF names that are incorrect and when
I can get time I intend to go through the entire CMF catalog and submit changes.

I do not mean to be pedantic but it is important that CMF's are listed on
BL with the correct names as given by Lego as these are the names potential buyers
are going to search for when looking to purchase.

More from me soon.

Thanks,

James

Just FYI, according to the Change Log, that name was last changed in 2018. Has
LEGO perhaps updated their marketing material since then? Or maybe there is a
regional difference?

Hi mate, Weve been buying for a while now and it kind of depends who sends the
items. The under 135 quid triggers 20% to be paid the seller and thats where
there has been problems because people then have had to pay the 20% again upon
the items arriving the UK.

We notice that most couriers are paying the 20% on the buyers behalf then attempting
to recoup this at a later stage. We have fedex invoice us for the 20% plus a
12 quid charge for the luxoury of them paying it for us!!. Other couriers like
UPS have sent a debt collection agency after us for 60 quid... Even though there
was no attempt to tell us about the vat owed and we phoned loads to get through
to some 1. And ofcourse we couldnt, we paid and no problem like but thats not
the point.

So. im hearing that there will also be new charges that come into effect from
the 1st of january 2022. we currently wait for a package now 350 quid from germany
and are realy eager to see what new charges will be brought foward. Soon as we
know ill update you mate to help you out. I mean, when you place an order and
the import, postage and fees are more than the order it kind of kills the happiness.

Yeah, the Fedex fees are quite high - they are actually £12 or 2.5% of the VAT
charge. So if an order is £2400+ the fees are higher than £12. Although on an
order that large, the fee is miniscule relative to the cost plus VAT.

http://www.fedex.com/gb/dutyandtaxnotification/

That's why it is important to know what postage/courier a seller will be
using, as the £4 difference in fees might be more important on a £150 or so order.

Even with RM, a £150 order soon becomes £188 once the VAT plus fees is paid.
So unless the foreign seller has a really good deal or the item cannot be purchased
in the UK, it might be better to shop around here.

One lingering question. A seller putting bl's gb vat id on a cn232b is open
to problems,, especially as you now have to put the business name and address
details on the cn22. To me that is not sensible and very much open to fraud.
How does the system deal with that, if it does at all?

I am not, in any way, fully understanding this system. But from listening to
others, the IOSS system is used to report the paid VAT to a database that can
be used by the receiving country to see if the VAT was paid on the sending side
of the transaction.

Maybe you can look that up and see if that is true.

Hi Donna

Thanks for the post. Will be talking to our local Postmaster tomorrow to see
what he knows. Will update then. Whatever the outcome of that it is still a mess
- not well thought out from a practical point of view and full of little loopholes
etc. It is, also in our opinion ripe for fraud.

There is in the UK at least a VAT registration database where one can check on
the validity of a number. I presume the same applies across the EU, but as for
world wide cooperation on a matter like this - no chance.

Had to place an order on an EU store yesterday knowing full well that we would
have to pay VAT on it. The order was of small value so the VAT wasn't going
to be significant. The store had an onsite payment method (Paypal). Order placed,
shipping costs agreed and normal Bricklink invoice received from store. That
invoice had a link on it to pay via PAYpal onsite which we used - okay fine,
Moments after making the payment a Bricklink VAT invoice arrived - this is where
it gets cloudy, that invoice (BL's) shows an invoice amount fine - but no
where does it show what we paid. Surely this invoice should be a sales receipt
otherwise what proof do I have that we paid the VAT?

It really does not appear that this was all thought through. The customer should
always have proof of payment and by calling the Bricklink invoice which is the
VAT invoice as being paid that would suffice, otherwise C&E have every right
to question it at arrival. They are not interested in an invoice they want to
know the VAT has been paid. .

Are we not reading this right?

Allright a bit more research and the invoice is fine. That is not the issue whether
it is marked as paid or not. The issue is how does the seller tell customs that
they have accounted for the VAT. Theory is they fill out the CN22b and include
Bricklinks GB VAT ID on it ? That then tells C&E where the vat has been dealt
with. What a convoluted mess, with or without Brexit. Do they actually pay these
people to come up with these hair brained schemes (Not Bricklink, by the way

I currently have about £10k (resale) of various minifigures, about £2k on Bricklink
and £8k other places (eBay etc). I've toyed with the idea of just selling
the whole business to someone who could pick it up and run with it, or integrate
the stock into their own. I'm not desperate to sell but have wondered what
a likely realistic price would be.

All the figures are identified, most are new, lots of various themes (CMF, Star
Wars, Marvel DC, Simpsons, Team GB etc), good variety of figures. There is a
storage system with everything labelled, stored away etc.

Just wondering if anyone has sold bulk lots that are already part of a functioning
business? In my mind it seems realistic to get 50% of the resale value....I'm
sure we'd all like more but realistically people need to hold the stock until
it sells, make a reasonable profit, take the risk it won't sell etc, so would
£5k for £10k worth of minifigures be realistic?

If someone offered it to you, what sort of price range would get you interested?

The additional notes ("There are 2 versions of this poster. The front image is
the same on both but the reverse printing creates either a red or blue lightsaber
when rolled up. The difference can be seen in the additional comparison image.")
are misleading.

There are three(!) versions of this poster:

The small one with size 25x33 cm and no reverse printing.

Two large ones with size 60x80 cm and red or blue reverse printing.

Wouldn't the smaller one have a different code and thus beca different item.

I don't know. It is not up to me to decide that.

What I can tell is that the small poster does not have a code printed on it.

I don't have the large version any more so I can't tell if it has a code.

What I see is that the item has dimensions 25 x 33 cm in the catalog which is
the size of the small poster but has a note that it comes with red or blue reverse
printing which only applies to the large posters.

If they are different sizes and different printing we do need to have 2 entries
for these.

I have moved this to be a catalog request and will contact the submitters of
the images on this existing listing to get it straightened out with new catalog
entries.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Paul.

From what I can make out 5005888 was the smaller version without the back printing
(even though it was not numbered anywhere) and was given out free with purchases:

https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/collectible-star-wars-20th-anniversary-art-print-5005888

5005887 has been confirmed to be printed on the packaging of the larger version
with lightsaber back printing by member jenso.

It seems that some people received this version instead of the smaller one:

https://brickzeit.de/lego-may-the-4th-2019-das-sind-die-angebote-gratisbeigaben-und-aktionen/

If anyone reading this has these posters and can confirm the above please do
so. We still plan (belatedly) on splitting these but want to make sure of the
above first.

Thanks,
Paul.

Thanks so much

Hi
Looking at the gear entry photo the remote looks to be a generic LED remote control
you can find in 1000`s of generic LED products.

The sword your probably going to have trouble finding, you might be best making
one from craft board or find someone who could design and print a 3D printed
version.

Great item BTY and would love that in my collection.

Hi Sander,

this is not a link to nowhere but to the dedicated forum for Studio and PartDesigner:
https://forum.bricklink.com/ (hover over the red Studio icon on every page, then
click “Studio Forum”).

Generally, if you’re using Studio, you would need to post here: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewforum.php?f=4
and if you’re using Studio Early Access, you would need to post here: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewforum.php?f=12

You may also want to read this post: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6637
for a more direct way to reach the devs.
You’ll need to join the Prev_Player.log file, which can be found:

On Mac: Users YOUR USERNAME .local share Stud.io and the file name is
“Prev_Player.log”.
(Note: to see the hidden folders in your user folder (.local), press Shift+Cmd+.)

On Windows: find it under \Users\{UserName}\AppData\Local\Stud.io\Prev_Player.log
(As AppData is hidden, the easiest way to reach AppData is to enter %appdata%
(with the % signs) and navigate from there.)
