Hi there,
the Eagle that comes in the "Battle of Five armies"Set #79017 is not the same as the already inventoried one! The one in the set has Dk.Brown Printings on his neck where the inventoried one is plain! The new one is a named "character" Gwaihir! Please change that!

Okay, so I expected this to start happening soon, but I didn't expect it
to happen to me first. Someone left me four star feedback on the MOCShop because
the MOC wasn't designed well (you can view it here: http://moc.bricklink.com/pages/moc/storereviews.page?idmocstore=424058
). So I want to suggest that BrickLink posts some sorta note or something
on the Page to post feedback for orders saying that this feedback is to rate
how the order went, not what the MOC was like (and post a link to the MOC page).
Four star feedback may not be "bad", but it's not what I wanted. Thoughts?

A double feedback mechanism will probably work best as noted above, that is rank
the seller and rank the MOC at the same time. Although what to do if you do not
plan to build the MOC for some time?

However, rating the seller and the MOC at the same time may lead to sellers stocking
only the better MOCs. If there is a MOC that looks good but performs persistently
bad, and if sellers continually get marked down for it, then they should stop
selling it.

In "real life", would you frequent a store that someone else told you sells rubbish.
They do it very efficiently, but most of their products are junk.

I would suggest a 2 part feedback. 1 to rate the seller and their service, and
another section to rate the MOC and its attributes.

That works aswell. Easier than the way it is now.

work actively to stop this problem. There are at least 3 seller in this moment
offering rare sets with low prices. With 0 feedbacks and they just been registered.
These sellers are very suspicious.

This kind of scam are very pernicious for a good working in this marketplace,
Please stop this kind of activities.

As I said I've found at least 3 users in the last week, It's easy to
stop the scammers.

They work in this way:

- they are selling rare sets at a "good" price
- Don't allow or don't have a paypal account
- They have 0 Feebacks and the same day they are logged open an store
- They know which sets has a valuable price
- They are located in (Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Andorra and France)
- Don't reply if you ask for pictures.

I think is the same person or group of persons.

It's possible that it's the same group, but as an analyst, I'll tell
you if you look for patterns, I'd change methods before giving up (if I was
a scammer)

How would they do that?? Since everyone starts on BL with a "0" feedback score
there is no way to tell who is truly a AFOL or a scammer. They also don't
have the time or resources to monitor every item that every seller has listed
for sale in their inventory and at what price.

There is something that CAN BE done to prevent this. Problem is its clear over
the last Decade+ of me hinting this solution to Dan, Eric and some of the folks
here they have NO idea how to fully utilize the functionality of a DB. The Solution
is something learned in DB Analysis 101. Outside of me complaining about it I
don't understand why its such a Hard thing to do unless the Original DB was
created in such a Poor Manner there is NO way to get that info, which means someone
SHOULD clean it up and start from scratch. I had asked in the past and never
got a response so I let it go.

As far as I see it with some common sense its should be pretty obvious who the
scammers are. If you can see it, the DB can be made aware of it the same way
you visually see the Obvious scammers.

If you don't believe me, Sit back and do some of your Own analysis on what
triggers you to say hey that person is a Scammer. That info you just came up
with CAN be created in a backend Script to do it AUTOMATICALLY and told to output
a particular solution such as Lock account or email the admin. Automation isn't
hard, you just have to have a clue on what to look for.

I do agree that something needs to be done about the large number of scammers
that do seem to be appearing lately but the question is how??

Maybe set up a system that monitors new sellers with a feedback score of, lets
say, 25 or less and has items (or sets) at a price set below the 6 month average??
I'm not a programmer so I don't know if that would even be possible.

CJ.

I would say the way to go is limit the amount they can list for sale without
some due diligence of verification.
If you say "You can't list below the 6 month average", if I was a scammer,
I'd say "Ok", and list at the average or just slightly above, and then offer
free shipping.

Honestly, I'd be suspicious of anyone coming to BL on day one, setting up
a store, listing things without asking questions or taking the time to read
all the help files. Not like it's impossible, but..

I agree!! I've been on BL since 2007 (as a buyer) and am just now setting
up a store, I still have a ton of questions that I'm finding answers for
so I am baffled by people who can open a store and hit the ground running on
the same day that they sign up on BL!!

CJ

I am new here wish I had known of this site a year ago. On other sites I am a
member of (not lego related) you must have feedback of 10 before you can sell,
you also must have a certain amount of forum posts. This is to try and stop scammers
and it seems to have worked, however there is 1/10th the member base. Another
simple one is just buy from people who have 95% or better feedback.

A LOT of people don't know the forum exists, so (if I was in control), I
wouldn't make that a requirement, but I'd make selling on an approval
basis.

Including a phone call.
