you don't have to scroll all the way down to the bottom to submit changes.

**Not everyone uses (or wants to use) non-BL inventory apps.**

I thought this was an option implemented years ago.

  Hi everyone,

I started selling at the end of January and have had a handful of orders since,
but I've only had one buyer leave feedback. Do most people not bother leaving

I've left feedback for every order, both buying and selling, and I thought
most people would do the same. Is there anything I could be doing to try to encourage
my buyers to leave feedback?

Your store terms are horrendous.

Plus adding 4.2% paypal fee. Simple Honest solution is to raise your prices 4.2%.
A no brainer, unless you are trying to artificially make your prices look cheaper.

  Hey folks,

I have a 3144 with a partially broken prong. I attempted to fix it with MEK,
but apparently this part isn’t made with the same materials as regular pieces.
Someone then told me that it might be PVC, but I tried that glue and it also
did nothing. Does anyone have any idea what glue or chemical that I can use on
this part to make the repair?

Photo enclosed.

Thanks!

If it were up to me, I would say Incomplete Sets must contain a detail and accurate
description of what is incomplete about it and then leave it at that. The price
guide for incomplete sets is not and never will be a useful statistic anyway.
There is no saving it. Don't even show a price guide for that.

Well, I still like seeing the Price Guide but I agree that the whole point
of having an option for listing Incomplete sets is so we can, you know, list
sets that are missing pieces. Some, most, a majority, very many, a percentage...
are a whole bunch of subjective descriptors. Without well-published and easy-to-find
AND understand guidelines and no efficient method for enforcement, BrickLink
needs to let this go.

I understand their intentions for telling us to use the Custom Item listing,
but it's just not reasonable or practical.

On a personal note, I think being able to shop for sets sold without minifigs
or accessories is convenient and a good way to get parts at a relative discount.
I used to buy these listings and part them out for a decent profit.

~Jen

I, quite often will list incomplete sets. Not ones missing mini-figs. If the
figs are missing I part out the set. On occasion a part (or a few) are missing,
stickered part or stickers are missing. These I will list as Incomplete, detail
what is missing and put the missing parts on my WL. Sometimes they sell before
I acquire the part(s) but usually I end up completing the set.

From the time you stashed those away the price of Bionicle parts has increased
significantly so I am sure there is interest.

Well, I am going to be the very unpopular guy here -

Stores have a month to pay their fees. After that, BL can suspend the stores
in case of non-payment. What happens now is that store owners come on the forum
and complain about BL not opening up their store quickly enough after it was
closed. And above is a perfect example ("bitching worked".

Well, I say, leave the non-paying stores sit for a while and let them know they
will be reinstated in a week or so. If they can't be bothered to pay their
fees on time, the store operation is apparently not important enough. Opening
up a store right after a complaint is taking away from the deterrent of "your
store is going to be closed if you don't pay".

Niek.

where the best place to get bulk empty Lego boxes without ridiculous shipping

I have 142 boxes (48 different) available. Since they are flattened/broken down
shipping is not bad for a quantity of them. I will also work on the price for
multiple box purchases.

Not really stretchy. Any idea what item #? When I search for O ring all I get
is

Part No: 2815 Name: Tire Technic Wedge Belt Wheel
*
2815 Tire Technic Wedge Belt Wheel
Parts: Wheel, Tire & Tread {Black}

which it absolutely is not.

An O ring is Not a lego part, it is a sealing ring used in many mechanical applications.
Do an internet search for O ring.

So either the kid who this collection came from is unusually strong or LEGO is
having some serious quality control issues. I've found more broken parts
in this lot than I've ever seen before. I've got plates and bricks from
30+ years ago that have held up better than these parts from under 7 years ago.

Anyone else seeing an increase in damaged parts from newer bulk used purchases?

I found some of those type of cracked parts and several 1x1 round plates with
cracked out sides (PLG) in the 50 pound lot I just finished up. Most likely there
are more that were unnoticed that I will have to deal with later. I cannot spend
days looking for tiny cracks in every part.

As a seller, 9 times out of 10 I will contact the buyer to let them know something
is missing before shipping and then NEVER HEAR from the buyer. So then their
package is sitting around for days waiting on a response from them. Then their
feedback is 'took a long time to ship and missing parts'. We have no
way of knowing who is going to be a quick responder and who isn't, which
parts are the most important and which is filler.

If you have something in your order that is the reason you placed the order,
then mention it in the notes so that we know and can reach out to you. I've
found that it is always about communication.

I do not run into not having all parts ordered often but EVERY time I have messaged
the buyer Before shipping an incomplete/partial order they have replied to let
me know how they would like to proceed with the order issue.
I do not see why a buyer is expected to or should have to add a note stating
why they placed the order. Isn't it as simple as they wanted to order the
parts in the order?

I’m having a hard time with this, as I’ve been trying to buy some specific parts
missing from some sets and 2 times now, I’ve ordered specific parts, added on
a few others to meet the minimum buy for the seller and the seller sends me a
message AFTER shipping that they don’t have or can’t find the parts I actually
needed and still shipped the package. They provide a refund for the missing
parts, but those were the only reason I was buying in the first place.

Is that common business practice, to communicate after shipping that parts are
missing? Would this warrant less than positive feedback?

Newer member here, just seeking some help

Sad to say that is all too common. Seems like many sellers are so concerned they
will lose a few dollar order that they do not dare let the customer know in advance
of shipping they have an issue with the parts ordered.
I ALWAYS send a message Before shipping with an explanation so the buyer actually
has a choice to cancel.
I think non positive feedback was earned in a case such as this. You should
also get a full refund.

At the point when feedback has been left on both sides I will mark as completed
if necessary/ possible, otherwise I do not worry about it.

Can I get help understanding what the ability is for requesting quotes?

If a seller offers the Quote button then they presumably have to respond, but
otherwise (such as contacting them via BL messaging) there is no responsibility
?

All too many sellers offer no clear pricing for shipping, and I'm not about
to get snookered into paying 30%+ for shipping. In addition, most sellers don't
have a Quote option. This seems quite anti-consumer.

If they cannot respond to a quote request, you know where Not to buy from. I
just looked and a little over 60% of my quotes were accepted.

So just to follow up on this one...

I asked the help desk:
Can I list an incomplete set of peeled off stickers stored on wax paper as a
used sticker sheet with notes and a photo?

They got back to me and said it would need to be listed as a custom item.

So then I reported a couple other stickers listed in the above condition and
they were all removed from the store within a couple days.

The help language was changed:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=102

It now reads (second sentence is new):

"Sticker sheets missing stickers must be listed as used. Individual stickers
not attached to the original sticker sheet must be listed as Custom Items."

Yes, as a result of the complaints against these sticker listings, we have decided
to address the issue in the listing rules.

The main problem with individual stickers separated from the sheet is that we
don't have catalog entries for them. It is simply a practical concession
that we allow sheets with missing stickers to be sold as used, since for the
most part, used complete stickers sheets are very uncommon and of questionable
market value.

In the listings that were pulled down, the used stickers were placed on felt
and this is not great, with the fibers from the felt getting stuck to the back
of the sticker. Wax paper (freezer paper) is better since this is similar to
the surface the stickers were originally stuck to.

However, I do believe there is a valid market for used stickers for vintage sets,
especially some of the plastic based stickers (e.g. Fabuland). So I will be consulting
with our Marketplace and Catalog teams to see if we can make a provision for
listing them in some way under the sticker entry and not as custom items.

Until we make a decision on this, we won't be removing any more used sticker
listings.

Thanks, I initially listed the stickers referenced as a custom then moved it
to the Used sticker listing figuring it would have a much better chance of being
seen. I have hundreds of stickers removed from parts but have not listed them
due to the fact that they are common and there are many low priced New available.
The exceptions I make are sticker sheets that are in low supply, are used in
unlisted complex assemblies, I have most/all of what were contained on the full
sheet, stickers are like new with the adhesive intact. There are also times when
I get a sticker sheet that only had one sticker removed that I have sold as incomplete/used.
There is a market, not huge but sometimes it can be the only option available.
If there were complete or partial checkboxes to use for the used sticker sheet
listings that would be sufficient. Even better would be to eliminate the option
to use the catalog stock image and require an actual image.
