And this had been discussed prior and was said that the figure can be listed
that way since it does not have an inventory. Which doesn't make send because
the figure can be inventoried since the parts are removable. But the fact mine
was taken down and not the others is ridiculous. Especially since this was the
agreed upon previous policy.

I think you're right as I remember the discussion, but I don't know if
the result was "unoffical guidance" or an actual policy.

Based on current supply you have a minifigue that's going to become even
more valuable soon, even with the light not working. If you can buy the missing
parts to complete it I would do that.

I see some of the descriptions state that the battery was replaced. Maybe you
can get the light working too and really make some bank

This is what I had written in the description. "Comments: No hair, round
plate, lightsaber, doesn't light up. Rest of figure looks in good shape."

If your fig wasn't removed automatically by some algorithm, it was likely
due to the missing hair and round plate. Also, the other are still listed someone
reported yours and not the others.

If it were up to me, I would say Incomplete Sets must contain a detail and accurate
description of what is incomplete about it and then leave it at that. The price
guide for incomplete sets is not and never will be a useful statistic anyway.
There is no saving it. Don't even show a price guide for that.

The Share Wanted List function could also be enabled so that a seller could share
a wanted list of the missing pieces for the incomplete set. The buyer could then
see what's
missing and/or price it out.

The newsletter does not mention a change either in the policy or the enforcement
of the policy. Nothing has changed in that regard.

That's a relief!

As a ball-park figure, if a listing has less than 80% of the complete set contents,
it shouldn't be listed as incomplete.
Another rule of thumb - everything
essential to the character of the set must be present, so for example, the signature
printed tile in Architecture sets must be included to list the set as INcomplete.

The newsletter was highlighting the most common problem with incomplete listings,
of which most are in USED condition. New items have different rules. Sets missing
instructions or boxes do not need to be listed as incomplete if these deficiencies
are mentioned in the notes - for USED items. Items listed as NEW must contain
the original packaging and instructions.

Any plans on enabling the Share Wanted List function? The "Feature Coming
Soon!" note has been there for years. If a buyer is interested in an incomplete
set it would make things easier if a seller could share a wanted list of the
missing pieces for the incomplete set. The buyer could then quickly see what's
missing and/or price it out.

I'm on board with the policy. There have been a lot of times I'm trying
to research the price of a new or used set and might see "incomplete"
sets listed for ~$100 less that are missing the minifigures. Then I see in the
sales history a few that were also sold for ~$100 less than all the others which
pulls the average price down, but we don't know if it was complete or incomplete.

Click the "Exclude Incomplete" box to see stats for completed sets only.

That's possible, but I have a strong case. I have proof I shipped it, buyer
acknowledges this, I have confirmation from the shipper they lost it. So why
should I loose this claim? That would be very sad but maybe not impossible. That's
a risk I need to take. The proposal I should just refund it out of my own pocket
while there's paid for insurance is just ridiculous. Then I can place a thousand
orders and once received place a NSS on every single one of them hoping the seller
will refund me right away. Hurray, thousand orders received without spending
a single penny!

So, you forced your buyer to open a PayPal claim, gambling that PayPal will refund
your buyer without subtracting the funds from your account?

If I bought used sets with those instructions I would be ok with them, as long
as you had a photo showing the instructions in the listing.

the other ones had fold parts I don’t want to be difficult however I do plan

a partial refund?

They aren't complimenting them. They are implying that COBI parts are not
rubbish that should be thrown away / destroyed and that there are people that
will buy them. Which is true. COBI parts do crop up in used LEGO lots and there
are people that want them. It is incredibly wasteful to destroy items like that
just because they are not LEGO branded. It is far better to pop them in a tub
and sell on as bulk COBI once the tub is full, or bulk mixed clones if they are
with other brands. Obviously they cannot be sold here but that doesn't mean
there is not a market for them, or that they should be destroyed.

Yes, this is exactly it, thanks yorbrick.

Its a part that helps fill the recycling bin.

COBI is a very high quality clone, and there is a market for it.

How ironic.
In one message you say that I handle my business poorly.

No, I said you handled the transaction you posted about poorly. I didn't
say anything about your business. In fact, your stats are excellent and I would
have no problem buying from you.

Also, I don't see any irony here.

In another message you feel the irresistible urge to compliment clones on a site

Yes, point being that you can do something good with this particular clone instead
of clogging a landfill with it.

Well, I say, leave the non-paying stores sit for a while and let them know they
will be reinstated in a week or so. If they can't be bothered to pay their
fees on time, the store operation is apparently not important enough. Opening
up a store right after a complaint is taking away from the deterrent of "your
store is going to be closed if you don't pay".

I pay the BL fees as soon as I receive the bill to avoid dealing with this Help
Desk netherworld. However, if the fee is paid the store should be re-opened asap.
If BL wants to charge a late fee or interest that's fine but deliberately
keeping a store closed is petty.

Your buyer doesn't seem unreasonable and you handled this transaction poorly.
You got some good advice on this thread from others, I hope you take it into
consideration for the future.

Also, you're going to have alot of trouble if you ship internationally and
refuse to refund shipping for incomplete orders. You might skate by when shipping
is a few dollars but otherwise this is going to keep happening to you.

Lastly, most buyers don't read the TOS.

In Help, Shintaku writes:
  Hello,

I'm here since 2007, it makes 17 happy years on bricklink for me and it's
a site I use daily.

I want to say that I also wrote several LEGO books and dedicated one to the late
Dan Jezek, who in my opinion built this site with an ethical view in his mind.

But there's one thing I always have problems, because now I would really
like to leave a negative feedback and I feel my hands are tied.

This user, you can look within his feedbacks, is at his second attempt to get
money from sellers for factitious reasons. He was passive-aggressive and tried
to extort me money. When I refused only because I know PayPal's TOS, this
user tried to trick me into giving him back all the shipping costs.

The last message he wrote me, as you can see, is something that should NOT be
tolerable on this platform. Though what he says, I have never ever insulted a
bricklink user in my life, I have never told a single lie, and being insulted
this way is something that should never be accepted here.

I believe bricklink should have a "report" button when an user says such
infamous things to another user.

Here we trade bricks, things that should carry happyness and joy.
I just sell stuff to buy more LEGO for myself, I am not a professional, still
I try to act in the most professional way I can.

But users like this and the fact they can pasture here on bricklink because if
I leave him a negative he will retaliate and this is more a damage for me than
for him... it's something that saddens me.

I suggest you to block this user as I did, and forgive me for my rant, I hope
this reaches to the mod team and they can start thinking something about this.

Like, for example, I would be very happy if they prevented such user to leave
me a feedback, so that I can leave a negative with no second thoughts.

Thanks

Sellers shouldn't be able to leave feedback for buyers.

There are two parties to every transaction and each one should be able to leave
feedback.

Every other platform, eBay, Amazon, etsy, the owners realized that allowing sellers
to leave feedback is toxic.

Do you sell on eBay or Amazon?

For example this

Is an order I placed, it’s not special or rare for me to get items damaged
like that, just about every order I place has items badly damaged that are never
noted (tho there are some amazing sellers as well!)

Looking at the pictures you posted on that order and seeing how bad they really
were, just out of curiosity, why didn't you leave an appropriate feedback
for the seller of at least a neutral?

Jim

I think it’s my Canadian nature, I don’t like leaving negative feedback. Even
if it’s horrible quality

If you're going to complain about the quality of "many sellers" every
time this topic comes up then back it up by leaving appropriate feeddback, even
if you get retaliatory neg/neutrals in return.

"Many sellers" - you're going to keep banging that drum right?

It keeps happening with almost every order I place without fail. So I havnt had
any proof to the contrary

But then again maybe im just unlucky 🤷‍♂️. I’d say 9/10 orders I place arrive
with undisclosed cracks, bite marks, bad yellowing, and/ or heavy wear

9/10? 90% of your order purchases have problems? Yeah sure.

If that's your real ratio, either your standards are un-reasonable or you
don't know how to pick good sellers.

I wouldn't relist that part without permission, and I doubt you'll get
permission to sell a part like that on a site owned by TLG.

You should easily be able to sell it elsewhere though.

I bought the part from bricklink my self in 2014.

I think the point is that even if you bought the part here a decade ago, who
is to say that that seller's source was legitimate?

The part has been retired for 30 years. This is 99.9% sure just a test part that
escaped the factory.
