I think if you buy all the wave you can join the minifgis stands with the black
plate by the middle bottom.

|
You cannot have a minimum buy for shipping internationally and no minimum buy
for domestic. You can only have one minimum buy value for the store. If you try
to do it through the shipping settings, it will normally offer whatever default
shipping method you have when all other shipping methods fail. So if you only
have an international shipping option above a certain cart value, you will still
get orders below that, but that shipping option won't be offered. They are
still valid orders though, in that they reach your minimum buy for the store
(of zero, since you don't have one).

If he paid through paypal(onsite) via Bricklink, then use the refund button for
the order. If he paid offsite through PayPal, use the refund button on the payment
details page at PayPal.

|
You don't say in which exact cases it doesn't work (country, amount...)
I would NOT set min buy for the shop, as you did I think.
I would set min buy to the Shipping Methods, but:
* don't miss one (may arrive if you've multiples)
* type decimals using "." dot and not a coma "," or simply
avoid decimals (like 20 instead of 20.00)
|
I have a shipping setup for Domestic (works perfect) and a shipping for International
(only 4 countries included). Only for the international one i have added a minimum-buy,
because with all the documents its just to much work otherwise.
I did not add the ,00 - bricklink does it automatically when saving. It's
also the correct way (mathematically) its always a , never a . so i guess this
should not be the issue and can't be changed manually anyway.
But thanks for your feedback.

It's not the answer you want, but it depends. I would say ~100,000/2000
was when things really started to pick up, but it would depend on what lots you
have and how they're priced that matters most. Then it depends on if you're
doing new or used.
BrickMan brings up a really good point too; things sputter during the warmer
months. March was my best month on record; and then for the third April in a
row things hit a brick wall.

Everyone's path is different. Best advice would be to continue to build
your inventory in your spare time and budget constraints and keep your prices
competitive. Once your lot count expands shoppers will have more reason to purchase
in your store over a larger cast then just looking for a specific part you may
have.

I’ve had around 10 orders this month. My current inventory is 4,743 items in
1,573 lots but is mostly parts.
If you have 1000 items and 600 lots of minifigures they would probably sell more
than the same amount of parts

And the other thing if your prices are lower you may get more sales/orders

Thanks so much for the advice!
In terms of the minimum spend, that does make sense. My thought process was around
ensuring enough profit to run viably based on less orders coming in due to being
new/less stock. And it has worked decent for minifigures but I can see how that
would limit part buyers which would most likely end up being a large chunk of
the buyer pools I would I assume?
Once I finish parting out all my remaining sets and stock for inventory, I should
have closer to 14,000 parts which still isn't a lot but should help provide
a good chunk more options for people than I have currently.
|
I can see where you are coming from. Most stores will include a packing fee
for orders, especially small orders. This will ensure that you will still make
a profit. Yes, a large proportion of buyers are parts buyers. Unless you have
lots of rare and hard to find minifigures of course.
|
That is a good point about letter shipping. I honestly didn't think about
it really as every person I have purchased from has always arrived in boxes or
bubble mailers..
I will have a look at adding letters as an option for domestic as that would
indeed drop shipping costs quite a bit for people buying parts..
|
Have a look at other stores terms and see there shipping costs and postage weight
ranges. Set a maximum price for letter shipping, and then if they spend over
that it has to come in parcel rate.
|
Yeah, that does make sense about international shipping. The main thought process
around opening up international was just about allowing more people the access
to see my store even though most won't really buy from my store.
|
Yep makes sense. Just maybe have a look at the list of countries you ship to.
When i shipped overseas, i just kept it too the main countries with good and
reliable postal services.
|
I do understand the difficulty I will probably have running a small store in

I do understand that having more stock will be really beneficial and I have around
the same lot count in extra-storage that I am still yet to sort and add to inventory.
But as I have started this as a partial hobby, to get used to business-style
selling, etc, I only put a set starting amount of $1000 to build inventory as

Hey mate,
Just a couple of things.
Firstly, you have a high minimum spend for a small store. $10 is a lot for a
store with only 7,000 parts. Most of the bigger stores in Australia have no
minimum spend or maybe a $1. To have a high minimum spend you need to have lots
of parts on offer so people can collate an order with a number of different lots.
Secondly, you don't have letter shipping at all? 70 to 80% of my orders
are shipped in small and medium letters. To have the cheapest shipping on offer
in your store within Australia at $11 is going to deter a lot of potential buyers.
Whilst letters don't have tracking, it is rare for them not to arrive.
Lastly, international shipping is expensive. So for someone to purchase from
a store in Australia you need to have things that are unique and hard to find
elsewhere. Common parts will be usually cheaper in their own markets. There
is no problems having international shipping, but it is rare to get an order.
Whilst Australia only has 4% of users, it has a disproportionate amount of stores,
740 currently open to be exact. USA has 6103 stores currently open, yet has
a much, much larger user base. It is difficult to run a small store in Australia
and get regular sales.
Best of luck
|
Thanks so much for the advice!
In terms of the minimum spend, that does make sense. My thought process was around
ensuring enough profit to run viably based on less orders coming in due to being
new/less stock. And it has worked decent for minifigures but I can see how that
would limit part buyers which would most likely end up being a large chunk of
the buyer pools I would I assume?
Once I finish parting out all my remaining sets and stock for inventory, I should
have closer to 14,000 parts which still isn't a lot but should help provide
a good chunk more options for people than I have currently.
That is a good point about letter shipping. I honestly didn't think about
it really as every person I have purchased from has always arrived in boxes or
bubble mailers..
I will have a look at adding letters as an option for domestic as that would
indeed drop shipping costs quite a bit for people buying parts..
Yeah, that does make sense about international shipping. The main thought process
around opening up international was just about allowing more people the access
to see my store even though most won't really buy from my store.
I do understand the difficulty I will probably have running a small store in
Australia. The main goals are to learn business & shipping, as well as I thought
it would be something fun to do. So I am not too concerned about getting regular
sales but do want to learn how to best optimize so I can learn the best way to

| So this is kind of a multi part discussion so brace yourselves.
Lets discuss the partner fee we pay through PayPal as well as the "Fee"
we pay for selling items here. The reason id like to discuss what these fees
are used for is because i feel some of the money that we pay to use this platform
should go toward making improvements on Bricklink. Yes i am aware that someone
has to pay to keep the lights on, literally snd metaphorically speaking. I do
also know that with the platform essentially complete, it does not cost as much
money to maintain. Im also fairly certain someone familisr with bricklinks code
is still on the payroll. im also aware the platforms newer version is still being
worked on correct? So since bricklink doesnt actually help solve any of the very
few issues that arise (monetarily speaking) where does this money go? the most
important item that needs addressing is to pay someone to add the ability to
automatically remove items from our wanted lists that we purchase. To me this
seems to be a no brainer in regards to convenience. People like myself who suffer
from neurological disorders that make us forget things much more easily are taking
a hit. Yes it is my fault im not denying that but i feel as if no one would complain
if the option is added somewhere in our settings. i know im kind of ranting and
i know the Lego Group can do whatever they want with their money, but without
our generous double dipped fees, this platform would cease to operate. And i
have no ill will toward lego or bricklink for requiring fees to be paid. All
organizations require some fee since the very first Home owners association we
formed after exiting our caves for good. But seriously im not irritated at anyone
but myself...

| Fellow BrickLinkers,
We are currently closing up to hit order No 25 miljon! What a ride and what a
great achievement from all you members - seller and buyers!
So as a number nerd - if the 25th million order happens to be placed at my store
I will refund all cost and ship it for free anywhere in the world! This offer
limits to an order value of maximum 200 $ or 200 €.
And also - if your store gets it and you post proof in this thread I will give
you 50 % off on an order for you too - up to order value of 200 $/€.
So, what day will it happen? Any day next week?
Also fun to hear if any have had any special order numbers in the past. I don't
think I have but had two orders in numerical order once!

Early runs of Light Bluish gray often has bad color stability.

Hi and welcome to Bricklink! You can't sell on here without first making
a purchase and receiving positive feedback from the buyer. I always try to leave
feedback for new buyers right away so if you see anything you like in my shop,
I'd be happy to help you with your first order!

| Hi,
Sorry but:
You can’t advertise items that are not for sale in a store.
You need to open a store.
And, yes, you need some feedback first and that means buying something.
These are the rules.

Do not remove the NSS until you have Proof that the seller has refunded your
money and you have you have received your money back.

Seller is now suspended with Preventive action lol, not sure whether to just
sit here and wait or try and figure out what to do... it's a 3k order so
I'm pretty worried rn🥲

If the seller has been suspended, it probably means there have been several similar
complaints. You almost certainly will not hear back from the seller or get a
refund. You should be working with your bank immediately to get a reversal of
the charges. Was this an experienced seller with good feedback? I assume seller
did not offer paypal for payment. For a valuable order, I would not have recommended
using a payment method that did not give buyer protection.

Yeah but I've bought from the seller loads of times before and he's got

Yeah he was suspended a month ago but had his account reinstated after, I wonder
what the issue is this time as I have last heard from him on the 7th of April
and he hasn't been responding to my messages since.
Really like his store but seeing that it is a huge order I've placed I'm
warry that I won't get my money back...

| Hi,
I am trying to complete my old Lego sets that are mostly from the 1980s, and
created several wanted lists (1 per set) in order to buy the missing parts.
Question:
How can I be sure that I am buying the (era)correct part?
Example: set "6951 Robot Command Center" from 1984 is missing 1x "Brick,
Round 2 x 2 with Axle Hole" = part 3941 in White.
However, the new part has a 'bottom ring' visible and the original parts
did not have that
(https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3941&C=1#T=C&C=1).
So when using the 'buy all' option or selection all wanted lists that
I want to buy parts for, how do I know I get the correct part and not the newer
version?
Or has this option fully disappeared from Bricklink now?
In that case: what parts-buying site does still make the distinction between
versions of a part?
Many thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
Menno

you want. So you can no longer use these functions.

That difference never was recognized in the catalogue by different entries, only
by a note as it is now.
You ALLWAYS had to clarify with the seller for such variants.
|
Then this entry is missing in the catalog.
|
Not really. There are loads of minor or unimportant variations that have never
been individually catalogued, just mentioned in notes.
|
|
Thank you all for the helpful comments.
I was under the impression that as there is a clear photo of the four different
variations AND there are an equal number of different Item Numbers, they should
be (have been) easy distinguishable...
Also, visually they are different - try to combine original era ones with new
ones and see how (awful) it looks.
Again, all thanks for your replies!
Kind regards,

You can't eliminate VAT - it will be collected either by BrickLink (if the
order is under 150 euro) or by customs in the buyer's country (if the order
is 150 euro or more).
|
To be clear: it’s German Import VAT, not Vietnam VAT.
BrickLink collects taxes from the buyers in these situations:
— US Sales tax: most US buyers, when they buy from any seller for any amount,
— UK import VAT: UK buyers, when they buy from non-UK sellers for less than £135
(items total),
— EU import VAT: EU buyers, when they buy from non-EU sellers for less than €150
(items total).
— Australian GST: AU buyers, when they buy from non-AU sellers for less than
AU $1,000 (items total).
— New Zealand GST: NZ buyers, when they buy from non-NZ sellers for less than
NZ $1,000 (by item).
— Norway import VAT: NO buyers, when they buy from non-NO sellers for less than
NOK 3,000 (by item).
UK/NO/EU VAT and AU/NZ GST are directly paid by the buyer for other amounts.
Domestically (intra-UK, intra-NO, intra-EU, intra-AU, or intra-NZ), it’s handled
by the sellers when necessary.
