I started playing with LEGO sets back when I was six in 1977, first with a few random building sets, and then with set 462 -- Mobile Rocket Launcher. (I just realized the set numbers only had three digits back then!) I thought it was the best toy ever. I had a number of Classic Space sets (only they weren't "Classic" yet), along with one Castle set -- 677 Knight's Procession (the first Battle Pack?) The poor sword-swingers were the bad guys, and the space guys spent their days using their advanced technology to toy with them. My favorite set of the era was 924 Space Transporter, and it probably still influences what I build today. At the time, I thought that if they ever made sets for Star Wars, that would be the best toy, both those were still years away. They finally made my dream come true, only about 20 years after the fact. In my dark ages, I still managed to get a set or two each year. I returned to LEGO in 2010 when I learned that a LEGO store was opening in my local mall. Right now, I enjoy the different minifigure characters, Creator sets, and I plan to build an MOC castle someday. I would also like to see LEGO and Dungeons and Dragons officially integrated somehow. My one-year-old son has just discovered DUPLO and he stands to inherit a decent collection someday!
