About Me Pages: About J.Thunder (9)
1996. That was the year I received my first Lego set. It was the Patriot Jet. At 5 years old, I asked my grandpa to buy it for me (which he did), and gave my mom a heart attack seeing as I was already asking for not-so-cheap toys at a young age. It wasn't until 1997 when I acquired my first Adventures set that I truly fell in love. I proudly own 44 sets and at least 40 of them remain intact and 35 have all their pieces. They all remain proudly displayed around my room. Sadly, I lost my passion for Lego when the sets past 2001 (in my opinion) began to become bland, less detailed, less pieces, nothing like the 90s. I thought the 90s era was gone for good. But I was wrong. Dead wrong. Imagine my surprise when I came across this site and found the trove of sets I played with as a kid and saw in catalogs for years upon end were here on this site to be bought. I have once again found the excitement I had as a five year old boy with a big imagination and classic sets to build, mix, and display proudly.
