I had the figure marked as "used" and mentioned the parts that were missing
on the figure. I realize you can't sell incomplete figures but this figure
is not inventoried so there is no way to sell individual pieces from this figure.
There are also numerous amounts of this figure listed on Bricklink with missing
parts, broken parts, or with colored parts swapped out for different colors.
So why would mine be removed if there is no way to list it on Bricklink besides
custom. Especially when all these other figures are allowed to stay.

Out of interest what part or parts were missing?

This is what I had written in the description. "Comments: No hair, round
plate, lightsaber, doesn't light up. Rest of figure looks in good shape."

Well firstly I think the minifg should have an inventory breakdown available
and where that is not in place I think exceptions should be made for missing
parts particularly where a minifig is rare because removing such items that are
already scarce does not help to serve prospective buyers with searching for these
things.

The only thing I would say is that they probably don't like the fact that
they feel the missing hair can be sourced fairly cheaply and easily

Would love for Russell to chime in on this.

I would figure that your average employee at BrickLink who processes this stuff
doesn't have the institutional knowledge to make these kind of distinctions.

I understood that there was a long term plan to add inventories for these but
it would take some time.

Listing are deleted when reported by other users.

And the rules are very clear: minifigures can only be sold if they are complete
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=102

If there are other listings that list incomplete minifigure feel free to report
them.

That's untrue for this listing. This has been discussed previously in the
forum I believe. The figure cannot be inventoried so it is allowed to have missing
pieces if they are mentioned in the description. Correct me if I'm wrong somebody.

It was debated, the consensus was just as you say with this type of minifig.
But who knows if that's changed

There are five different Star Wars figures that are similar to this
one. None of them can be inventoried so they all have numerous listings for missing
parts. Why are those all ok but mine is not?

One of a few analogies; a good percentage of these no longer light-up and we
all know the minifig surgery involved in the unintended battery change, so should
they continue to be allowed listing ability within the "Light-up Lightsaber"
catalog listings, if they don't light-up?

Not enough mindfulness, is all. Not necessarily those doing the reporting, you're
always gonna have an amount of ignorance among those types, but those processing
these reports should have better judgement, or at least the necessary depth of
knowledge for such unilateral and intrusive action. They could also, using that
better judgement, determine when to inquire

An example of what I mean by depth of knowledge: Received a notification that
a watch set was removed from our inventory. This now older set was sold with
two cape variants back in the day, well-know at least among LEGO SW collectors.
But the catalog listing never was updated with this information, and so away
it goes... Along with it went the salient researched history of that LEGO item
within the listing description, for all to read. Which is really the unfortunate
part of this story

Not biggie for us though, and would never have mentioned it were it not for reading
this post. The action actually gets me off my lazy butt to actively sell the
rare SW item, sadly elsewhere now.

That's also a great point. The figures state in the name "Light-Up".
So if the figure doesn't light up, wouldn't that make it incomplete.
Cause that is a good number of these figures that should be removed. It's
outrageous that mine was removed.

I was looking under terms for sellers but didn't see anything specifically
on topic, but does anyone have a definitive answer or knowledge if it goes against
Bricklink terms to sell items from store without documenting them? I know if
I wanted I could just remove the items from inventory and work out a deal separate
from Bricklink but I prefer not to do that and just curious if there are rules
against it.

Buyers are not supposed to be asking sellers to complete a transaction outside
of BL. If they use the BL Contact system to do that, it is a very specific violation
of the ToS. If they contact you via FB or some other non-BL method, it is merely
frowned upon (because you are using BL to advertise what you are offering, without
giving BL the opportunity to collect a fee from the sale that results).

being sent back to me now for an incorrect address. The buyer is asking me If
I can re-send the order when I get the package back with their apartment number
added to the address. I would think the buyer has to update their address on
their end in their Paypal account right or am I wrong, IDK. Also in this situation
would you charge the buyer another shipping label with a new tracking number?
Kind of of need some help on this one.

Thanks

Will

Depending on whom is generating your postage, you may be able to detect these
prior to buying the postage. An address that is incomplete, or dubious, may not
be able to generate a full 9-digit Zip+4. If you see a proposed address (on Pirate
Ship) that does not generate a full Zip+4, then it may be to your benefit to
halt processing the order, and reach out to the customer questioning the supplied
address.

I am aware (from personal experience), that in a few limited situations, an address
that USPS was good with (say 10 years ago), they no longer feel is specifically
correct, and may randomly reject mail sent to that previously correct address.

In your situation, the ability to do this has already passed. Good luck !

I can understand how this is annoying and frustrating for a seller to deal with.
It is my understanding that listings like this are only flagged when a member
fills out a form and sends in the info. If I am wrong about this, please correct
me. So yours was likely singled out because someone, well, singled you out.

Also, BrickLink seems to think that using Custom listings is a viable alternative
for anything and everything that doesn't fit the guidelines (rules.) Because
of the difficulty finding such listings via our Search, it's not obviously,
but it's all that we've got!

If you look at the Want List page you should see a list of Want Lists, each will
have two buttons on the right hand side, Easy Buy and Setup. If you click the
Setup button you should see an option to delete (lower left corner of the modal
window that opens up).

this happened to me, it actually showed up and I emailed the buyer to tell them
they didn;t have the correct address, did they want to pay the shipping again
and i would reship? They agreed and I re-invoiced them for just the shipping
, shipped it again. Your other option is to refund the order minus the shipping
charge once you receive it back.
