I'm hoping someone has done this before or fan help me.
I have some old lego train magnets which the outer plastic casing is damaged.
I would like to reuse the magnet and looking for suggestions in how to remove
the magnet from the damaged plastic surround.
Online suggests acetone but this feels eto harsh and may damage the magnet.
I don't care if the plastic get damaged as this is broken anyway.

Acetone won't damage the magnet but it will dissolve the plastic which can
nake a mess. Another option is to score the housing with a dremel tool then break
along those lines with pliers.

Also try first from the back, maybe they were glued with a droplet in the bottom
and if you can get to it is might separate easier without having to destroy the
sides to end in the back anyway.

Thanks, ill try that. I might need a hack saw or copping saw to cut off the
back of the plastic.
