I was recently going through some stores as I wanted to purchase several UCS
items.
There is a store in New York offering what I wanted but all of his items "ship
in 3 weeks". This is also the time it takes for items to ship from HK.
3 weeks? who wants to wait 3 weeks for a shipment anyways. There is something
really wrong here.
They could order when they receive an order, or have it in a distant warehouse.
Per TOS you're supposed to have items on hand.
Feel free to report this shop.

I just did as it doesn't pass my sniff test....East Coast Collection

This seller has other issues as well, e.g. listing incomplete items as complete,
listing partially used sets as new, etc.
I have never reported a store or thing before. What a inert reporting system
it is. You get to make a bald allegation about the terms of service but nothing
specific. Then again it was my first time, so perhaps I screwed it up.

Precision: they had to change it because of EU DSA… but the laws never told them
to make it worse, unless it’s another law

All I know is I almost placed an 7000.00 order in that store. Then I would of
had to wait 3 weeks, likely a further delay excuse. That is a nightmare waiting
to happen.
I do prefer to buy in bulk and sell as individuals. But I will also onship multiple
items in bulk to other sellers if I believe they are reputable stores.
Never in my wildest dreams would I sell bulk and then try and source it. lol
even saying that is so ludacris its beyond a bad joke.

Seems you don't have to have items physically in your stores possession to
sell them.
Oh it changed a bit.
In your Country seems to be allowed.
I really don't know when it changed.
Exact quantity: The quantity of the item that you are listing for sale must
not be greater than the quantity you have physical possession of in the country
in which your BrickLink store is registered. Drop shipping is not permitted.
The only exception to this is a custom fan magazine that has to be pre-ordered
and the Buyer is made aware of this in the item description.
But note "Drop shipping is not permitted".
Also, for the story this paragraph was add after I asked Dan if he'd accept,
when we used to Sell BrickJournal worldwide, around 2010:
The only exception to this is a custom fan magazine that has to be pre-ordered
and the Buyer is made aware of this in the item description.
And remember there's the generic Compliance with Laws paragraph.
Compliance with Laws: You as a Seller agree to comply with all applicable laws,
rules and regulations, including without limitation all laws regarding ecommerce,
distance selling, consumer protection, commercial electronic messages, privacy,
disclosures that must be made to Buyers in advance of a sale (including without
limitation the terms and conditions applicable to each sale), affording Buyers
the right to review, accept and reject such disclosures, and providing to Buyers
copies of the terms and conditions of sale.
So the question there would be, is it legal in the seller Country?
Seems you don't have to have items physically in your stores possession to
sell them.

Feb 2, 2023. There’s a version drodown on the top right
“You have on hand” was changed to “you have physical possession of in the country
in which your BrickLink store is registered.”
I guess that’s a clarification and to adhere / mimic the terms in marketplace
laws (marketplaces have warehouses in other countries and ‘played’ with the differences
in laws/taxes of the warehouses’ & headquarters’ countries).
It both limits and broadens what can be done:
Limits: You have the items “on hand” in country A, your store is registered
in country B. Now you can’t pretend the items are available in country B.
Broadens: “On hand” could be undertood as “at the same address as you’re
right now.” Now the items can be 1,000 km away in another town but in the same
country as your store.
There was at least one store that was located within the EU, but then shipping
goods from Russia once a customer placed an order. Similarly, there was a US
based store but shipping from Germany. The change clears up what they were doing.

But then there's the report form which doesn't allow you to type what
you wish to report (iirc)

Yes, that clarifies and limits the “on hand” = either “I’ve them where I’m right
now” or “I’m the rightful owner, even if they are on the other side of the world.”
But that allows you to have a warehouse/stock far away from yourself (which,
actually, I’m not sure BL had the right to forbid anyway).

This is why I do not report anything anymore, they seem to come back with this
boilerplate response more than not.
There NEEDS to be a way to put in more information if they really want to "protect
the marketplace."

Well, the report page is “brand new”¹, give BL a bit of time to make it better.
¹ For BL’s definition of “new.” Compare with BL’s definition of “soon,” with
“Share Wanted List Feature Coming Soon!” having been there for 9 years…
Plus the manpower to efficiently and effectively deal with such concerns, often
complaints on a platform is reactive opposed to proactive.
But yes as you point out change and mergers do take time and there is often a
lot to iron out.
There is a difference between an honest mistake and trying to skirt the system.
I have had a few inventory items deleted because I have clicked the wrong description.
Falls into my "so what" category. But multiple lines of suspicion......nope.

I agree with you about protecting OUR marketplace.
But here is the truth about the commencement of this post. This is the first
time I had ever made such a complaint. As the Admin who reached out to me advised
the reporting error is mine.
In my ignorance of the reporting process I reported some miniscule stock item
opposed to the store. So the repetitive macro message sent to me was actually
correct and I am wrong.
Don't you dare say a word Sylvain. Just for you though - here it is a second
time "I am wrong".
The takeaway is the Admins are looking at it. It's unfortunate and perhaps
reporting could be more specific like a "comment field" in the complaints
area. But the truth is I wouldn't know chalk from cheese in making a complaint
on Bricklink.
This is why I do not report anything anymore, they seem to come back with this

Same response I got although I was reporting other items and for other reasons.
There is a listing that is "New Incomplete" even though 2 of the bags
have been assembled. I get the impression whoever is moderating these isn't
looking closely at the descriptions.
