I'm running into a bit of a circular problem. I would love some help on
it.
I'm trying to increase my minimum buy while we catch up on orders. I'm
trying to set the minimum purchase to $50 USD. When I enter the amount and try
to save it I get this error:
"You can't set store minimum buy greater than shipping method minimum
buy value."
So I go to shipping minimum purchase and change it to $50, but I still get the
same error on the management page. When I delete the minimum buy on the management
page the shipping still shows as a minimum of $0.50. The system will only let
me raise the price not 0 it out.

Any ideas how to fix this?
It means an individual shipping method(s) have a set min buy, which is lower
then your new $50 min buy. Navigate to each of your shipping methods and you’ll
find the one causing the issue, and raise it to match your new min buy, and then
you ca set the new higher global min buy

But then why wouldn't it be possible to have a 50$ minimum buy and a shipping
method requesting 30$ minimum?

MIN = MAX(MIN_BUY, MIN_SHIP_METHOD) that's it?
bricklink does it the opposite way, you can have min buys higher in individual
methods, and the main one lower. I wonder if it changes on opposite day tho

Yeah, same problem, same solution.
Say you have a $30 shop minimum, but $50 in shipping methods, who cares, it'd
take the maximum anyway?
