I just bought 20 pieces of 3660 or so I thought... Received 20 pieces of 76959
instead.
He refers me to his terms and conditions where he writes
'we do not differentiate between mold variations (recessed stud ,solid stud
,hollow stud ....)'
But can you sell 76959 as 3660 when they have different part numbers?

Technically speaking, bricklink does classify them as mold variants

Many variants have different numbers, but I can see what you saying. Technically
the seller is abiding by his terms so I’m not to sure if there is much to do.

Precision: mould variants with separate entries in the catalogue and no “umbrella”
entry.

Yeah… I’m about sure BL doesn’t care about sellers mixing entries. I mean, BL
doesn’t care about the seller sending the completely wrong parts and will reject
an NSS just on the barest proof of shipping.
It’s also (NOT!) funny when, by pure luck, pinky-swear, they list under the more
expensive variant when they mostly have only the cheapest one….

No. The Catalog list them as different parts so they must be sold as such.
Except... Yes, sellers do decide just not to do this.
To be fair, you bought from a seller that promised NOT to differentiate parts.
It was up to you to read terms and decide to ask first or not to buy. Some things
on BrickLink just work this way, and I would chalk it up to a live-and-learn
scenario and don't be mad at your seller if you can help it.
