I thought I'd say something here because I wanted to complain to someone
and maybe some of you will have some helpful insights. I was looking for a good
priced current generation gaming console on eBay and I sent a seller a message
about the condition on an Xbox that she had for sale. Unfortunately, it sold
before she had time to respond. By the way, I should mention that this particular
seller had some, not much, but some positive feedback. I asked her if she was
planning to sell any more Xboxs (Xboxes, Xboxi, Xboxen?? ) and she said she
wasn't, but that she was planning to sell a Playstation 5. I was pleased
with this as I preferred that anyway and after discussing price and shipping
and such she listed it for the price we had agreed on and I purchased it pretty
much right away. She had acted like a perfectly decent person and had sent me
pictures and a video and so I was not at all worried. Of course I was wrong.
I sent a message after 4 days of waiting to ask her when she was planning to
ship it and she quickly responded that she would ship it by the upcoming Saturday
at the latest. I agreed. When Sunday rolled around, there had still been no change
so I sent another message to ask if all was well. She responded that she was
getting home that night (apparently she hadn't been home even though she
had promised to ship it by Saturday) and would ship it out Monday morning. This
morning I woke to find that my order had been canceled and the reason supplied
was that the buyer requested to cancel which is an outright lie. Of course I
did all the things: reporting the seller, sending a message to let her know that
I was disappointed and that I was going to report her, etc. But I can't help
but feel that she got exactly what she wanted out of this. The only reason I
can think that she might have done this was that she thought she could get more
from it than she got from me and if that's the case, then she gets exactly
what she wanted. Sure her account might get penalized, but she sold 3-4 items
over the past year and had only a few other random lower cost items in her store
so it really wouldn't matter to her.
Anyway, I just wanted to get it off my chest. I did get my money back, but I
am still disappointed. Sorry for being a bit long winded. Sorry also for my grammar

They don't have a Forum on eBay?
Otherwise I'd buy the Valve console or better the Steam machine cube - for
many many reasons you can find on the Net

I know,I know. but I wasn't exactly looking to pay the expected $700. Also,
it hasn't been released yet. As for a Valve console, I can't find anything
other than the upcoming steam machine so I'm not sure what you mean.

Steam Deck?
Eh, I'm not real interested in the whole hand-held gaming thing. Seems like
it'd be hard to play FPS and such on there

But if you didn't buy it, I'd maybe wait for the Steam machine.

I'm just cheap is all. $700 sounds like a hefty bit of cash.

I've been trying to get Next gen gaming on the unrealistic budget of around
$290

Yep, fast FPS and cheap, that's for sure the easiest combo.
Did you notice 5090s are at 3000$ minimum?
BTW DDR5 has become crazy nuts (x3 price?), SSDs also...
You're right, try to get something used, but it's going to be difficult.
Or
PC previous generations are working like a charm (DDR4) Intel 12th or 13th, and
far far cheaper.
As of right now, prices are just crazy, thanks AIs (+ duties I guess)! Good luck.

So, I made the mistake of buying another PS5 but this one the seller says boots
into safe mode and is asking for a software download. it has free returns, so
if I can't fix it without opening it, I'll send it back, but does anyone
know what this means and what I should do? Obviously I've been doing some
research on Youtube and such but I just thought I'd see if there was anything
I wasn't considering.
