I received an order today from a seller with a 99% feedback.
I've had my fair share of bad parts over the years but this order is one
of the worst.
I'm curious what you think about this.
As a seller myself I would not list parts like this, even with a description
of the condition. These would go straight to the bin (tan 1x2s are ok)
Apart from the dirty and chewed up parts there were also parts missing and wrong
parts.
I would expect this from a 80% seller but not from a 99% one with over 800 orders.
Part of me would just like to go straight to neg feedback. This was a small order
and not really worth the time and effort but I suppose I'll contact the seller
and try to work something out

That’s wild… here’s to hoping they don’t respond to you by saying “used is used”
like some do

And that’s IMHO part of the problem: “too small order for the effort,” and fear
of retaliation are undoubtedly why that seller is at 99% and not 80%.

Yes, totally. If I was just a buyer I would leave a negative straight away, but
as I'm concerned about my own feedback I will have to work it out

Feedback received as a buyer doesn’t count in your percentage as a seller.

I know, but it's only a few clicks away. Can't be too careful
I would venture a guess that those are so rough that they wouldn't even make
it into most sellers' donate bins.

Those look like they were chewed up by an animal. I would have put those straight
into the trash.

Recently I made a small order from a longtime seller. The 2 tiles one had bite
marks all over it and the other was missing. They wanted pictures of the damaged
one and sent them. They said that IF I made another order they would send them.
Then later said they would send them in a paper envelope if I wanted to take
a chance. I just took a refund and had to order the pieces again from another
seller and again had a problem with condition. Took a 3rd order to get a good
one. I hope you have better luck
Completely unprofessional on the seller's part. Imagine if TLG's customer
service was like that.

Wow that's really aweful service and bad luck with the 2nd store too.
How hard can it be - Don't sell parts you would not want to receive yourself!

I would be embarrassed if something like that made it through our screening process.
That's shameful. Those pieces are garbage and shouldn't continue to be
in circulation.

I wouldn't sell them as individual pieces here, but they have some value
as they can still be used. They are not great but they are not trash to be thrown
away. I often bundle up all my cheap parts not worth selling here and any lower
grade parts and sell it as cheap bulk for kids to play with. Many kids don't
care especially for stuff they are going to build and throw around or play with
in a sand-pit or in the garden.
