Is it electric? Can you just replace an element? Or is the tank deteriorating?

Electric yes. It’s France here! Everything is electric in apartment buildings.
We needed to find reasons to have nuclear plants you know
But it’s 23 years old (though it doesn’t seem it was used very much for its 15
first years). I already changed a part when I bought the apartment 8 years ago.
I checked the safety but it didn’t work.
I won’t try to dismantle and descale and rebuild it, I think I’ll just have it
replaced with a better one. That should cost me less than in the long term.
I got about the same time from my last one. Good luck on your new unit..... And
with finding an installer.

Get a mini data centre for your home, reduces heating bills by 40-60%.
It just heats water for the sinks and shower. The radiators are electric too.
Also, I’m in the South West of France, I don’t need to heat my flat much
I rather need to cool it down in the summers (which get longer and longer).
You are a MASTER at small MOCS (probably even big ones but usually you just do
small ones for your posts here). Love the ice coming out of the shower head.
