86038 Minifigure Cape Cloth, Holes and Tattered Edges - Traditional Starched Fabric, Angled Top Notch, Larger Rounded Edge Features - 4.95cm Wide
Parts: Minifigure, Body Wear {Black}
seems to have 2 distinct versions, with varying sizes and hole
shapes.

It seems dark red and reddish brown are the old versions, while black, white,
and orange are the new ones. It seems the change happened somewhere around 2014-2016

Dark red ones are also found in both size versions, the large original ones in
the Chima line and the small ones in the Nexo Knights line.

Huge shoutout to user konalex for bringing this to my attention and helping confirm
info (and giving permission to make this post, and for providing the one image).

Good catch!

Seems for Dark Red the ID 86038 is for the 2 tips on the second bottom left spike
edge with PCC 6022368

And the other is ID 20547 with PCC 6134289

The rest would also need to be checked.

Good work! I tried browsing some ITC data but was running short on time today
so couldn’t quite do a full dive, hopefully the catalog admins agree this is
split worthy and we can start the party of a split! 🍕

Seems white ID 17824 with PCC 6076594 is the same as 20547

So if a split happens most xref could be moved and only the Dark Red ones would
remain in an undermined catalog entry.

Amazing work! That is some solid data points!

We think a split is in order for these.

If you still have them please submit as new entries.

You are welcome to use any existing images if it helps - please just add a note
with the image submissions if we need to change the credit.

Thanks,
Paul.

Sounds good! I’ll likely work on this sometime today or tomorrow.
Thankyou very much!
