Hi all,

Just realized I have been selling on Bricklink (Brickbay it was called back then)
for 25 years now!
I believe the currency on Brickbay was $ only at the time but I may be wrong.
In the Netherlands we still paid by guilders in 2000 ...

It's a long period, many things have changed on the site, but I still enjoy
selling here!

Hope to serve my fellow Lego enthousiasts for another 25 years at least.

Peter

Sure it was, and even when I arrived in 2005/2006!

For a few years maybe we had to invoice in USD, and even the VAT had to be converted
in $ !

And of course, due to PayPal exchange rate we always lost a bit but had to pay
the real invoiced VAT amount in EUR...

That was really a mess!

Hope to serve my fellow Lego enthousiasts for another 25 years at least.

Thanks Peter to still be here with us; you're one of the best and kindest
sellers I've met on this site, sincerely!

Do you remember how people from around the World would send actual cash money
as payments? I recall receiving as much as US $ 400 cash from Australia and
I once sent US $ 600 to a seller in Italy.

Direct Bank Transfers were great, too. No Cost to the seller, YAY.

In fact, before Paypal, all the old payment types were NO COST to the seller
-- the Buyers had to pay all fees and costs. Ah, the good old days. Cash,
Checks, Money Orders, Western Union, and EFT.

WoW! Looking at the members, you are at 128th person to sign up for Brickbay
for active members - pretty darn cool. We signed up in December 18th of 2010
and are at 18,751 so were just a tiny bit past yours on the list at page 937.

Congrats Peter,

I have closed my stopped selling parts and sets many years ago and now I have
stopped selling instructions here about a year ago. Actually I have also recently
sold off 95% of my Lego inventory to a friend. I kept some of my favorite builds.
I will be building digitally from now on. Just don't have the time and space
for the Lego collection. Also needed the money for a deck rebuild.
